CAPRICORN FULL MOON – Tuesday 30 June, exact at 00.56 UK time (BST)

This is a potent Full Moon, in the midst of some very powerful planetary energy that is building at the moment. It may help to think back to the Capricorn New Moon on 14 January, when we were invited to lay down some very solid, mature, intentional, well-considered foundations for what we wished to build for ourselves moving forward. It is now 6 months later, and this Full Moon could illuminate whatever was seeded back then, and it could be somehow up for review, as whatever was birthed back then could now be coming to full fruition and might also be tested or somehow in need of adjustment. It is time to refine our intentions. Where are we on the journey that began in January?

A Capricorn Full Moon can bring some kind of reality check, calling for us to look at what has been growing and make sure that it is still on solid ground. We might need to take the rose-tinted spectacles off and see things for what they really are, rather than how we would wish them to be. We may be called to recognise that what we may have hoped for is not what actually exists. However, it is always better to face reality than live in the fantasy, or the dream. In fact, sometimes reality is more beautiful than the dream ever could be, simply because it is real. A Capricorn Full Moon calls for us to be mature, realistic, accountable, to take full responsibility for ourselves and our purpose. It asks us to be willing to stick to our promises and honour our commitments.

We are now in Cancer season, with the Sun in sensitive, emotional, nurturing Cancer sitting directly opposite the Moon in responsible, pragmatic and disciplined Capricorn. In an ideal world we would find the balance between the two signs rather than veering too far in either direction. This Full Moon could call for us to take full responsibility for our inner child and to somehow be a proper grown-up! Cancer represents our  childhood patterns and our need for emotional security and a sense of belonging, and is the part of us that can sometimes feel like a hurt little child who needs their mother to take care of them. The Capricorn part of us can help parent our inner child and gain more control over our emotional state.

While we are all basically little children walking around in adult bodies, Capricorn can teach us the art of emotional self-regulation and taking full responsibility for our actions and reactions. We don’t have control over what other people do or don’t do, but we do have control over how we respond to whatever comes our way. However, in the extreme, the Capricorn part of us can control our emotions too much, suppressing them and stuffing them down in order to keep our inner child safe, which is where Cancer can help by encouraging us to be vulnerable and express our feelings, even if it is scary and we fear rejection or abandonment. In our childhood we put certain coping mechanisms in place to protect ourselves, but at a certain point in our adult lives they are no longer helpful. In fact they can be particularly unhelpful and even sabotage our close relationships.

What can we do to help our inner child feel safe and secure? Where might we need better boundaries to protect ourselves? Where is our internal “line in the sand”? What self-protective patterns are no longer appropriate or helpful in our lives and relationships? Do we tend to put up walls without realising it? Are we able to express our true feelings in a mature, healthy and vulnerable way? Are we able to take full responsibility for our emotional needs? Is whatever we have been building able to stand the test of time? Is it right for us? Are we being called to be patient, or let it go? Are we truly honouring our commitments and living  according to our personal integrity? Indeed, what is our relationship with commitment? Where are we resistant to “growing up”? Where and how might we still want other people to “parent” us? These are all good questions for this Capricorn Full Moon.

Interestingly, Saturn, the ruler of this Capricorn Moon, is forming a wide square aspect to the Sun and Moon, which certainly strengthens the Capricorn energy. Saturn is in Aries, calling for us to have the courage to live according to our own personal integrity as we navigate a path we may not have walked down before. Saturn could force us to face reality, and to clearly define and state our needs and priorities. Saturn invites us to take full ownership for ourselves and the part we play in whatever is transpiring in our lives right now.

Saturn calls for us to have the courage to honour our deeper commitments and to question, refine and possibly solidify whatever intentions we seeded around the Capricorn New Moon. Since then, Saturn has moved into Aries, and we had the Saturn/Neptune conjunction which was a threshold moment that reminds us that we are still at the beginning of something new, and are having to making up our own rules as we go along. We must do what feels right for us, rather than going along with what others may or may not be doing, or the way we did it in the past. Saturn and Capricorn call for us to be mature, honourable, responsible and to stand in our integrity, although it is important to only commit to something if it feels completely right and totally aligned with our personal truth, journey and purpose.

Saturn in Aries reminds us to truly honour ourselves and to act from a place of integrity, in the truest sense of the word. “Integrity” means living in complete alignment with our values, doing the right thing for the right reasons, and staying true to our moral compass. It is the integration of our thoughts, words, and actions, particularly when no one is watching. It is not just about holding moral beliefs, but having the courage to act on them even when it is inconvenient, unpopular, or when it comes at a personal cost. It is tested when doing the right thing is not necessarily the easy path, but we do it anyway.

Mars, the ruler of Aries, enters Gemini on Sunday 28 June, and is square the Nodes of the Moon during this lunation, which brings a fated quality to this Full Moon, and the sense that we are being asked to step up a notch in our soul growth and make some brave decisions and choices, even in the face of uncertainty, when we don’t have a clue what lies ahead. We might be called to be very honest with ourselves about what we really want, and to recognise what is truly meant for us versus what we think is the right thing. In our hearts we know what is right for us and so we are being called to be brave and act accordingly. Possibly we are fighting against the current, resisting the inevitable, when it might be better simply to surrender and go along for the ride.

What epiphanies, realisations and breakthroughs did we have in the build-up to Uranus square the Nodes on 12 June that we might now be ready to act upon? What is stopping us from truly surrendering to the flow and allowing Spirit to guide us? How might we courageously respond to whatever is being presented to us at this time? What is our choice, and how will we act on that choice? What are we carrying forward into this as yet unknown future, and what needs to be left behind? What is our personal will and what is the will of the divine? Are they aligned?  How can we tell the difference? If we are absolutely honest with ourselves, what do we truly want?

Mars will join forces with Uranus on 4 July, at 3° Gemini, which could bring about some big shifts in perspective and the courage to act of them. With Uranus, Pluto and Neptune all playing nicely with each other between now and the end of July, we have the potential to have some amazing clarity around certain patterns and compulsions that are no longer helpful, and the ability to imagine another way of being in the world.

Uranus, the planet of revolution and awakening, Pluto, the planet of soul transformation and Neptune, the planet of oneness and spiritual connection are all working together right now in the Fire and Air signs, which can help us to shift some big soul/psychological patterns, starting with us shifting our mindset and re-jigging our neural pathways.  This can be a time of profound breakthrough and the breaking down of some sabotaging patterns and coping mechanisms that may have followed us throughout our lives but are no longer appropriate. And it starts with us being able to see them.

And what might happen as Mars joins in the party? While we can’t ignore that Mars is the planet of war and can bring anger and aggression, it is also the planet of motivation, assertion, energy, courage, initiative and will power. When it joins Uranus it will also be supported by Pluto and Neptune, giving us the courage to break down our obstacles and break out of situations that are no longer resonant to our soul growth. It can also help us to act from inspiration and spiritual alignment, and opening to new possibilities that we may not have ever considered before.

We could have some profound shifts of perspective and “Aha” moments that blow our minds, and Mars can help us to be brave and motivated enough to act on whatever insights, epiphanies and realisations pop up. We might find ourselves acting and responding in a very different way than we may have before, which could be quite refreshing. We are being asked to remain flexible, curious and open to whatever may arise during this time, which could be unusual and unexpected! The astrology between now and the end of July is profound, and I have spoken about it in a podcast, which I will share at the bottom of this post.

Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, turns retrograde in Cancer on the same day as the Moon, which is interesting, for while Mars might want to be decisive and take action, Mercury hints that we may still have some more things to consider first.  Mercury will be retrograde for three weeks, and in Cancer we may need to go back into the past, revisiting, reviewing, reflecting and feeling all the feelings as we do so. This is an important piece of the puzzle. What might emerge from this moment of reflection? What realisations and insight might be gained from going back over all that has happened in the past few weeks, by honouring our feelings and by recognising how the past, including our childhood, has shaped us? What emotional truth might we have missed that can help us to make decisions and move forward? What has our inner child got to say about the whole thing?

Jupiter is also in the very final degree of Cancer for this Full Moon, and will move into Leo later in the day. This also feels very significant, and could help some important puzzle pieces to slip into place and bring higher understanding. What emotional wisdom have we accrued over the past year, while Jupiter has been in Cancer? What is our emotional truth? What have we learned about ourselves and how can we integrate it?  Jupiter can help us to truly understand the bigger picture, from a place of emotional intelligence.

The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon, at 9 degrees Capricorn, is a powerful one, in the light of all of the planetary energy surrounding this Moon: “An angel carrying a harp”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The revelation of the spiritual meaning and purpose at the core of any life situation. The picture simply says “heaven is within us.” All we have to do is to be open and listen to the total harmony of life; a harmony in which we play a part that is necessary to the completeness and meaning of the whole. In order to do this we have to surrender our separative ego-consciousness and flow with the universal current which, to the religiously minded person, is the Will of God. The technique that this symbol implies is that of ATTUNEMENT to the rhythm of universal life. Angels are to be considered personalisations of various aspects of this life, and totally subservient to its rhythms and purposes.”

What a symbol! It is incredibly resonant of Mars square the Nodes, calling for us to  “surrender our separative ego-consciousness and flow with the universal current”. The North Node moves from Pisces into Aquarius on 27 July, and the North Node in Pisces has been inviting us to truly understand what it means to let go and align our personal will with the will of the divine. We all know, in our heart of hearts, what is right for us, and it is time to own it. This Capricorn Full Moon could make it hard to hide from the truth of the matter. It calls for us to make a deeper commitment, to do what we know is the right thing, even if it is scary. To take responsibility for our true purpose in life. However, it does also seem to be calling for us to be patient and be very mindful of any decisions and choices we make now, so that when we are ready to act, it will hopefully be from a place of mature, honest, well-considered personal wisdom and integrity.

GEMINI NEW MOON - 15 June 2026

Exact at 3.54am UK time (BST)

The pace tends to quicken during Gemini season, as Gemini is a sign that likes to have its fingers in lots of pies! This New Moon can bring a fresh new start around the way we think and communicate. It could be helpful to pay attention to our thoughts, words and conversations during this Moon, as they could bring clues as to what we are seeding at this time. Our thoughts and words hold power, and Gemini knows that all too well, as they can have a considerable impact on our reality. This could be a good time to vocalise or write down our wishes, intentions and hopes, keeping an eye on the stories we tell ourselves and being willing to let go of limiting thoughts, stories or beliefs if they are no longer helpful or valid. This is the kind of Moon that can help us shift our mindset, which could make a huge amount of difference to our lives.

Gemini is a very adaptable sign that thrives on change and variety, and is the part of us that likes to switch it up and do things differently so that we don’t get bored or stagnate. This Moon could be a good opportunity to contemplate what needs a breath of fresh air and where in our lives is a bit stuck and stale, including our mindset. How might we benefit from doing things a little differently? What ideas are popping into our minds that feel different, interesting and significant? What is piquing our curiosity right now? Is there another way of approaching a situation we are dealing with? If we are able to shift our point of view a little, how might that benefit us? Is the way we think limiting us somehow? Can asking someone else the right questions bring the answers we need? What needs to be voiced out loud right now? Does an important conversation need to be had?

The ruler of this Gemini Moon is Mercury, the planet of the mind and communication, which is currently in Cancer, which is a water sign. This changes the flavour of this New Moon and makes it less cerebral and more emotional. Mercury in Cancer invites us to tune into our feelings and connect to our heart rather than merely trying to think things through. We can also benefit from looking back into the past to find clues and answers for the present moment. Mercury in Cancer is adept at seeing patterns over the course of our lives that have repeated and can teach us a lot about ourselves.

Astrology itself is a very good tool for looking back at past transits and recognising repeating themes and patterns. Interestingly, as Mercury went into Cancer and crossed over my Saturn I suddenly felt the urge to look back over the main Saturn transits since my Saturn Return and it was incredibly revealing, not to mention that it brought up a lot of memories to sift through! Mercury in Cancer is certainly good for a trip down memory lane, and is also the sign of childhood and ancestral roots. We might remember something important that makes a big difference during this Moon. Our conversations have the potential to be somewhat emotional, or nostalgic, and vulnerable. How can the past inform our future, and what do we want to do differently now?

Uranus is also in Gemini, and is forming a dynamic square to the Nodes of the Moon, which was exact on 12 June but is still very strong during this New Moon. This brings the potential for seeing things from another perspective and could help change our neural pathways and prompt us to look at our old stories and ways of viewing life in a different way. Uranus can jolt us into new awareness and can be a disruptive influence that wakes us up and can literally “blow our minds”. This is the planet that brings revolution and rebellion, challenging old, outworn systems and ways of doing things.

There is the potential for a significant shift during this time, especially in the way we think, which could make a big difference as we move forward. The North Node in Pisces is calling for us to develop greater trust in the unseen and unknown, letting go of the need for everything to be in neat little boxes of understanding. The Nodes of the Moon change signs at the end of July, and until then Pisces is calling us forward to let go of certainty, control and any tendency to worry or over-analyse and simply let go and surrender to what is unfolding naturally. Pisces can help us to develop a greater sense of acceptance and trust that we are guided. Sometimes we just need to get out of our own way! Uranus can bring a shift of perspective, understanding and thinking that can wake us up and bring epiphanies, insights and clarity which can help us to step up to the next level.

Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all dancing with each other in the heavens at the moment, and this energy is building until the end of June, beginning of July, at 4° of the signs they are in. I will write more about this in the coming week or so, but as Pluto represents soul growth and transformation, while Uranus brings revolution and awakening, and Neptune is the planet of unity, oneness and spiritual connection, this is quite a line-up that creates a powerful backdrop to this New Moon. A Gemini New Moon can bring information, communication, ideas and conversations that plant important seeds, and if you add this powerful alignment of planets, it feels like we are seeding something bigger than your average New Moon, with greater consequences for our personal and collective evolution.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon, at 25° Gemini, is interesting: “A gardener trimming large palm trees”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “Bringing under control nature’s power of expansion. The intellect of man is like a tropical plant in that it tends to expand “wildly” in many directions, seeking direct contact with the sun’s rays. Like a palm tree it uses its dead leaves to protect itself against dry heat, the heat of the realm of mind when deprived of the complementary power of the feelings. A culture is characterised by specific “forms” and “prime symbols”; education’s main object, at least in cultural and classical periods, has been to contain the imagination of individuals within these traditional forms. An entirely different approach to education is being attempted in our transitional age. There is a need for repeated PRUNING.”

This symbol seems to suggest that we are being called to trim away anything that is no longer useful or essential, such as old ideas, mindsets, ways of thinking and mental habits. What needs to be cut away so that we can step into this new future that is forming and actually flourish?  How can we lighten our load, physically, mentally and spiritually? How can we open our minds to new possibilities? Mercury in Cancer is a key player, helping us to tune into how we are feeling rather than simply trying to think our way through this shift. We may also gain considerable insight from looking back into the past and recognising our patterns. Change is certainly in the air, and this Moon could be very helpful indeed in helping us to shift our perspective and seed new ways of thinking. If our thoughts create our reality, what thoughts and beliefs need to go in order to create the future that we truly yearn for?

Much Love

I love writing about the Moon and the effect it has on us all, both collectively and personally. We all look at the same Moon and feel her energy, albeit in different ways. It reminds us that we are not alone and there is something very comforting about that!
