SCORPIO NEW MOON  - 20 November 2025

Exact at 6.45am UK time (GMT)

This is an incredibly potent New Moon in an extremely powerful sign! This New Moon is part of a beautiful, flowing grand water trine that could really open us up emotionally, so that we have no choice but to feel all of the feelings! We are now coming to the end of Scorpio season, which is a time when things get dredged up and we are forced to be very real and face our shadows. Feelings could come up that might not be very comfortable, and we could be called to hold the mirror up and confront anything that has been pushed down, hidden and ignored, especially if it is holding us back from our full potential, or sabotaging our lives, families and personal relationships. Scorpio isn’t afraid to look under the proverbial carpet and see what is festering there, and this could be an ideal opportunity to have a good, thorough clear out!

We have the Sun, Moon and retrograde Mercury all sitting together in intense, soulful, psychologically astute Scorpio, which could help us to confront come rather uncomfortable subject matter, exposing the parts of us that we would rather deny, hide from, push into the shadows and sweep under the carpet. This Moon is an ideal time to bring the skeletons out of the closet and look at our darkest secrets, our feelings of guilt or shame, our regrets and hidden resentments, and to face any patterns that might be holding us from being where we want to be. So often there are those things that “never get talked about” within families and close relationships, but they are there nevertheless, running in the background, wreaking havoc, creating an insidious undercurrent that slowly but surely chips away at the health of the relationship or family system.

This is the kind of Moon that can help us to own the disowned parts of ourselves, to confide our darkest secrets, to confront our deepest desires, blocks, fears, shame and regrets. It can help us to bring it all out into the open, to be aired and seen for what it is. Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, so memories could resurface that could bring up feelings of tenderness, regret or anger, and we could feel the need to apologise or forgive, even if it is only within our hearts. Indeed, people could literally pop up from our past with whom we have unfinished business that needs resolving somehow. We are so often our own worst enemy and can be much harder on ourselves than others ever would be. This could be a good Moon to bring it all out into the open and find forgiveness and acceptance for whatever rises to the surface. It is time to let it all go, as it doesn’t do any good to hold onto it.

The Grand Water Trine could really help, as we have Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn and Neptune in Pisces and the Sun, Moon and Mercury in Scorpio all supporting each other, helping to go deep and feel all of the feelings, even if they happen to be deeply uncomfortable! Indeed, it can help to watch what comes up around this time, because our emotions could be some kind of signpost, showing us our deepest desires and highlighting  where we are blocked and what we need to work on or release. This could be a time of catharsis, truth telling, completion, closure and emotional breakthrough, when we are called to tune in and connect to our inner guidance system. Our emotions can teach us so much, if we are only willing to listen.

Interestingly, all of the planets involved in the Grand Water Trine are retrograde right now, aside from the Sun and Moon. There is a sense that this is not so much a time for pushing forward, but more of an inside job - a time of inward reflection, of shedding, releasing old patterns, tuning into spirit, developing greater trust in our inner knowing, paying attention to our dreams, feeling into the subtle undercurrents and hidden nuances and listening to what our emotions are telling us. What needs to be released before we can move forward? What attachments, beliefs, emotional patterns, habits or coping mechanisms need to be left behind so that we can embark upon the next chapter? What is holding us back or blocking growth?

With Mercury so much a part of this New Moon, we could be called to give voice to the feelings that arise in us, even if it feels very uncomfortable. We may have intense, raw, truthful conversations that penetrate to the heart of the matter, or we may feel called to communicate old, deep, buried resentments, shame or regrets that may have been subtly eroding or undermining trust, connection, closeness and intimacy. Neptune can help us to find compassion, forgiveness and acceptance for whatever comes up, even if it brings up discomfort. We may have to look back into the past and confront whatever has been left unsaid or unfinished so that healing can occur and we can find a greater sense of peace. The veil could be thin during this time and we could feel much more connected, in tune and in touch with our intuitive and psychic side. Indeed, this is a good time to trust our spider sense and look out for the signs and omens.

Uranus is also a huge part of this Moon, opposing the Sun, Moon and Mercury and exactly sextile Neptune! This could bring moments of profound clarity, epiphanies,  revelations, realisations and emotional insight. Uranus can bring sudden change, wake up calls and big shifts that help us to see where we are blocked, jolting us out of stagnation and putting us back on the right track. We could receive unexpected news, or have an intuitive download or insight that literally comes from out of the blue and completely shifts our perspective. We may suddenly realise a truth that we have been avoiding looking at, or find ourselves able to finally break out of a rut, pattern or habit that we have been stuck in recently.

With Uranus and Neptune forming an exact, supportive sextile to one another, we have the potential for moments of sudden, intuitive “knowing”, messages and downloads from our dreams and solutions that seem magical, aligned and miraculous. This combination could bring moments of serendipity and synchronicity, and a feeling that we are being divinely guided. Uranus energy can be quite shocking and revelatory, while Neptune in Pisces softens the energy so that we could simply feel that things are somehow clicking into place, like a missing jigsaw piece and a huge “Aha” moment.

Combined with the Scorpio energy, we could be called to be completely honest about our hearts true desires, recognising  where we are blocked and what we have been avoiding looking at. It can also help us release ourselves from the past, liberating ourselves from unhealthy attachments, old beliefs, coping mechanisms, regrets and shame, and finding compassion and acceptance for whatever comes up in the meantime.  It is important to be open to any messages that might come through from Spirit during this time, whether it be through dreams, oracle cards, chance encounters, and random messages, or through prayer or meditation. There is the potential for gaining greater understanding of the path forward, and it may be somewhat unexpected with Uranus involved!

Those of us with personal planets or angles between 25° and 29° of a sign will feel the energy of this New Moon and Grand Water Trine the most acutely. This New Moon certainly could bring some intense and powerful emotions to the surface, but this is precisely what can help us to recognise what needs to be changed, unblocked or released, or brought out from under the carpet! With Uranus, the Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury all in Taurus and Scorpio, the financial axis, we could find that issues around material security, self-worth, power, the economy, survival, investments and our relationship to money could come up to be looked at, both personally and collectively. We could be called to reinvent and reorient somehow, and rethink our strategy, which could call for us to be completely and utterly honest about what needs to change. However, Uranus and the Grand Trine can help us to find magical and aligned solutions!

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 29° Scorpio, is an intriguing one: “An Indian squaw pleading to the Chief for the lives of her children”, which Dane Rudyar describes as” Love as a principle of redemption. Here the soul is presented as a mother whose sons (i.e. her active energies) have become disruptive forces in the collective life of the tribe. She seeks to counteract the karma of their misdeeds through her love and implorations. The soul is responsive to the experience of unity (the spiritual king or chief) but the energies of human nature often follow their self-seeking, divisive tendencies. This symbol presents us with the value of prayer. The principle of wholeness in man – the soul – acts to offset or attenuate the dictates of karma. In a religious sense, Mary, the Mother, is seen as the Mediatrix, in constant acts of INTERCESSION for the sake of waylaid individuals.”

The power of prayer cannot be overestimated, nor can the power of love. There is definitely something more inward about this Moon, with so much planetary energy in water now. It seems that we are being called to recognise any old energy we are holding onto that is blocking us or holding us prisoner, and to bring compassion and acceptance to whatever comes up. This Moon does seem to hold the potential to liberate us from our blocks, attachments and unhelpful patterns, although we may need to feel all of the uncomfortable feelings and be completely honest with ourselves in order to reap the rewards that the Grand Trine can bring, which involves us holding the mirror up and having a long, hard look at what we see. There really is some magical potential in this Moon, so it is important to be open to the signs, omens and synchronicities, and to not be afraid to look under that pesky carpet and do some deep cleaning! Sometimes the biggest treasures are the ones buried in the biggest shadows.

TAURUS FULL MOON – Wednesday 5 November 2025, exact at 1.19pm UK time (GMT)

A full Moon during Scorpio season will always be a potent one, as Scorpio is a powerful, emotionally intense sign that calls for us to dive into the underworld, peering into the darkness and confronting our shadows, even if we would rather avoid whatever we find there! This is a time of purging, releasing and shedding any unhealthy  or toxic attachments, relationships, situations or patterns that might be hindering our growth. Power dynamics could become more obvious to us and we could be more aware of the psychological dynamics that are playing out in our lives and relationships. As the leaves fall from the trees in the Northern Hemisphere, we are also called to strip back and release anything that needs to fall away. There is nothing superficial about Scorpio – it is a soulful sign that exposes the raw truth and calls for us to be emotionally honest with ourselves, even if it is uncomfortable.

And then we have the Taurus Full Moon, to bring some balance to the picture. This Moon calls for us to ground ourselves and is a good reminder to come back to our bodies, in the midst of the Scorpionic intensity, and to find a calm space to cultivate some inner peace and stability. Taurus invites us to enjoy the simple pleasures, revelling in the natural world, eating nourishing food, breathing in the air and recognising the beauty that is all around us. Taurus is a very grounded earth sign that has no time for nonsense or drama, so we are invited to do what we can to cultivate some simplicity, serenity, security and safety in the midst of these profound yet intense times that we are living in.

This Full Moon asks us to find some balance between Taurus and Scorpio, as each sign has something to teach the other. Everything can get a bit intense with Scorpio, which can bring power struggles, trust issues, karmic entanglements, death and rebirth and delving into the depth of our psyche, so Taurus invites us to develop a sense in inner stability and security, so that if the rug is pulled out from beneath us we won’t topple over because we are fully rooted in ourselves. Taurus encourages self-reliance, self-sufficiency and self-containment, and also calls for us to recognise our own worth and to truly value ourselves. Scorpio is the part of us that joins forces and merges with others, and in the extreme we can become too reliant and enmeshed, physically, emotionally and materially. Taurus helps us to rely on our own resources and take care of our own needs.

However, the Taurus part of us can easily get stuck in a rut, finding it hard to make changes even when we know we are in a place of stasis and stagnation. Taurus is the part of us that resists other people’s suggestions that could potentially help us to shift out of our rut and grow. Sometimes it is so hard to see a way out of the situation or relationship we are in, even though we know it is no longer good for us.

This is where Scorpio comes in, as it forces us to be brutally honest with ourselves, recognising our self-sabotaging tendencies and idiosyncrasies, purging unhealthy attachments and letting go of limiting, stuck, stagnant energy so that we can be born anew. Scorpio is the part of us that walks across a burning bridge and doesn’t look back. It helps us to do the therapy, look at ourselves honestly, shift the energy and transform, like the phoenix rising out of the ashes. In the extreme, the Taurus part of us can also become too self-contained and self-reliant, while Scorpio invites a deeper intimacy and vulnerability that comes from putting our trust in someone else and joining forces, in partnership or collaboration. It can make things so much easier if we share the load and let someone else in.

Venus, the ruler of this Taurus Moon, is the focal point of another Yod, or Finger of God, involving Uranus and Neptune. A Yod can bring profound growth and fated experiences that bring personal and collective shifts. It brings tension and pressure, and a need to somehow find resolution. Venus is currently in Libra, calling for us to balance the extremes and find peace and harmony, which seems to be a recurring theme during this Moon. How can we cultivate a feeling of peace and harmony, no matter what is going on outside of us? Venus also brings our relationships into focus, both the relationship we have with ourselves and with others.

Uranus, the Great Awakener, is prodding at Venus, calling for a radical shift in our values, sense of worth and ways of relating. Uranus can bring profound insight and realisations around how we relate, and can help us to shift out of people pleasing tendencies and be truer to ourselves. It can bring shocks and curveballs in our relationships and financial situation. It can force us out of our comfort zone, showing us what needs to change in terms of how we relate to ourselves, our loved ones and our finances. On a collective level, this could relate to the increased use of technology, including AI and tech based currency. Uranus seeks freedom from patterns of relating that no longer reflect where we are going and who we are becoming.

Neptune, the planet of oneness and unity, is also pointing the finger at Venus, prodding us towards a higher vibration of love, but also showing where we may be overly idealistic or unrealistic around our relationships and finances. Neptune is a massive part of this Full Moon, as it is forming an aspect to every single planet, while also sitting at 29° Pisces, the very last degree of the entire zodiac, where it will remain until 27 January. If this Taurus Moon is calling for us to find a sense of peace, simplicity and stability in the face of so much intensity, Neptune certainly encourages us to turn inward, tune into Spirit, detach from ego, let go, surrender and go with the flow. If we are tired, we are invited to honour ourselves and rest. Neptune encourages us to develop tenderness and compassion for ourselves and others and find a place of inner peace and acceptance for that which we cannot control.

The sextile between Neptune and Uranus has been a prevalent part of the astrology since June, and peaked for the first time on 28 August. It has brought the potential for raising consciousness, sudden awakenings, lightning bolts of inspiration, tech-based spirituality, synchronicities that bring profound shifts and changes of perspective, and serendipitous moments, conversations, meetings and realisations that feel magical and aligned. This combination can bring such a sense of excitement in us when something feels utterly right and aligned, although being a sextile it is up to us to take it further and actually manifest and ground it in reality!

The next time this magical and serendipitous sextile is exact will be 20 November, and this time Neptune will be in watery Pisces instead of fiery Aries, and Uranus will be in earthy Taurus instead of airy Gemini. This could be a bit more gentle and muted than August, but maybe more grounded, making it easier to do something practical with the opportunities, epiphanies and realisations. Those of us with personal planets or angles around 29° of a sign will feel the energy of this exciting combo the most acutely.

And in the meantime, during this Moon, Uranus and Neptune will be pointing at Venus in this Finger of God, so there could be fated synchronicities, sudden epiphanies, feelings of deep connection, realisations and a sense of liberation in the realm of our relationships, self-worth, values and money.  The Yod will be at its strongest on Thursday 6 November, just as Venus gets ready to leave graceful Libra and move into soulful Scorpio, which will add to the growing celestial Scorpio party!

Just after Venus moves into Scorpio, she will square off against Pluto, both planets at 1°, exact on 8 November, which could bring some deep and intense experiences in the realm of our relationships and sense of worth. With Venus also in Pluto’s sign, this could call for us to face some uncomfortable material regarding our relationships, and some may even pass away, although this square could also bring deep, soulful connections and greater intimacy. Pluto calls for us to be very honest with ourselves, and to have the courage to look at ourselves in the mirror, even if we don’t like what we see!

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 14° Taurus, is a reminder to focus on the simple things: “On the beach, children play while shellfish grope at the edge of the water”, which Dane Rudyar describes as ”Returning to simpler joys for revitalisation. This somewhat ambiguous picture suggests the way in which simultaneous activities of different natures can fill the individualising mind. The consciousness of socialised man operates at two levels, in close parallelism with what goes on in the unconscious parts of the mind (i.e. the sea). Natural urges are half conscious, half unconscious. They exist in a borderland – the wet sands still partly covered by small waves. The children play a little further away, learning imaginative yet sociocultural games. This symbol suggests that it is better not to attempt at once more than one can achieve through conscious and ego-driven ambition. It refers to the value, at this stage, of close contact with natural energies and simple pleasures, of a LIVE AND LET LIVE attitude.”

What a lovely  symbol, which also gives a nod to Neptune’s massive role in this Full Moon, being by the sea as well as speaking of acceptance, connection and lack of ego. It does feel like this Moon has a strong message, calling for us to ground ourselves in our bodies and the natural world and find comfort and pleasure in the simple things in life. There is a lot going on in this world of ours right now, so this Moon is a poignant reminder not to get caught up in the drama and intensity of it all, but to find ways to tune in, self-soothe and root ourselves in our bodies in whatever way resonates most with us. Dancing, singing, breathwork, yoga, walks in nature, swimming in lakes and rivers, cooking good food and enjoying the beauty of the autumn leaves are all wonderful ways to connect with the senses and ground ourselves in our bodies. Taurus reminds us to return to what is real, solid and tangible, like an anchor in a storm.

I love writing about the Moon and the effect it has on us all, both collectively and personally. We all look at the same Moon and feel her energy, albeit in different ways. It reminds us that we are not alone and there is something very comforting about that!
