Exact at 9.01pm UK time (BST)

This is a powerful Moon for manifesting what we need to sustain and nourish us on an emotional, physical and spiritual level. A Taurus New Moon can help us to be clear about what we need in order to feel safe, secure, solid and rooted. It can help us to recognise what in our lives truly holds meaning and value, and what is surplus to requirements. Taurus relates to money, resources, possessions, survival, the law of attraction, self-worth, self-sufficiency, sustainability, the earth and our relationship with our body. It is the part of us that wants to feel safe, secure and supported by Mother Earth. It is the part of us that knows how to take care of our own needs. It is earthy, stable, grounded, solid and unwaveringly loyal. It is something that we can rely on, that isn’t going anywhere in a hurry.

We have the Sun, Moon, Ceres and Mercury all gathering together in Taurus for this New Moon, with Ceres exactly the same degree as the Sun and Moon. Ceres is the goddess of nourishment, nurturing, motherhood, caretaking and our connection to the earth and its cycles. She also has a connection to grief and attachment, as she lost her daughter, Persephone, to Hades, the God of the Underworld. As such, we may become more aware of where we might have an unhealthy attachment to a person or situation, and could be called to do something about it. Both Ceres and Taurus can hold onto things too tightly at times, when it may be healthier to let them go. Persephone did seem to enjoy having some breathing room and space from the smothering love of her mother when she was with Hades! This Taurus Moon could bring lessons in how to love without possessing or over attaching, and knowing when to let go.

This Moon could also help us to recognise what we need to support and nourish us. With Mercury involved, we could have practical, no nonsense conversations whereby we vocalise our needs and clarify our values, and we could also contemplate our habits around food, comfort and security. This could be a good time to look at our relationship with our body and seek to change any unhealthy habits around food. We may also make decisions around how we earn a living, our money situation and any other resources we need in order to survive and thrive. A Taurus Moon calls for us to stabilise, build and plant seeds in fertile soil so that we are able to manifest all that we need to feel safe in the world.

Taurus likes the peaceful life, free of drama and intensity, so this could be a good time to slow down, connect to our body, feel the support of the earth and enjoy the sensual delights, such as music, nature, food and touch. With Ceres involved, issues around agriculture, weather, housing, natural resources, food, land and the environment could come to the forefront of our attention on a collective level. On a personal level, it could help to think of ourselves as a tender plant in the soil. What “nutrients” do we need in order to feel safe enough to grow?

Mars and Chiron the Wounded Healer are joining forces in Aries, exactly conjunct on the day of this New Moon. Chiron has been very prevalent in the past few Moons, and this one is no exception. We could be called to be very brave and be very honest about what we need. We could also find that our core wounds are activated, which could make us more defensive, irritable, angry or reactive than we might usually be. There could be a powerful healing around asserting and standing up for ourselves instead of staying small and avoiding bringing things up in order to keep the peace. Mars represents the Divine Masculine and the inner warrior that enables us to clearly state our needs, say “No” and set healthy boundaries. This transit could bring some healing around the masculine in our lives and could also call for us to be strong, take action and channel any anger or dissatisfaction we might feel into something constructive and healing.

Interestingly, Venus, the ruler of this Taurus Moon, is forming a helpful, supportive sextile to Mars and Chiron. This could bring some healing between the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine, which could greatly help our relationships. Venus in Gemini can also help lighten things up a bit, helping us to communicate kindly and stay open to other possibilities and points of view. Combined with Mars, it can help us to have some direct, honest, open, heartfelt conversations that manage to maintain some humour and don’t become too heavy. It can help us to be brave and bring things up that we might usually want to avoid, including expressing our needs and stating our boundaries and limits.

Venus in Gemini favours clear communication and likes relationships to feel free, open and light. This Moon could be an ideal time to have the courage to speak plainly about whatever may be bothering us in our relationships. Hopefully Venus can help to keep things light and loving, even if Mars in Aries may be a bit impulsive, rash and lacking in tact! Mars in Aries isn’t afraid to go after what it wants, while Venus is open to receiving. When Mars and Venus are healthy, healed and playing nicely with each other, the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine can support, empower and respect one another, helping one another to feel safe, loved and able to grow and be fully themselves. However, with Chiron sitting right next to Mars, we could experience the more challenging aspects of the masculine as they come up to be healed.

This sextile between Mars and Venus will be exact on Monday 18 May, although it will be very strong indeed during this Moon. It will culminate at 29° Gemini and Aries, which feels important, bringing a sense of completion and culmination. We may feel guided to face something, once and for all, rather than pussy footing around the issue. It is possible that we reach a conclusion and come to a decision that can free up some stagnant energy and bring relief. We could have some emotionally significant conversations that produce a much needed shift in our relationships and create clearer boundaries.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 26° Taurus, feels very poignant: “A Spanish gallant serenades his beloved”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The ritualisation of individual desires. At this level we see the play of collective values as they affect the individual person and indeed confirm his individuality by giving it a solid basis in a tradition. The individual is still attached to these group-values; he “belongs.” Nevertheless, this state is necessary for safe and secure sense of differentiation within an enfolding whole. Music and the culturally acceptable rituals of love are cultural products, yet each person can use them for the spontaneous fulfilment of his very own desires. This symbol reveals the individual human being making use of his personal status to find fulfilment and a sense of social identity. This is ROLE-PLAYING in its most enjoyable form.”

That is a very ardent and passionate Sabian symbol! The man is brave enough to pour his heart out, show his true feelings and state his intentions, which feels very much in keeping with this Venus Mars energy. It certainly does feel like this Moon is calling for us to get in touch with our needs and then have the courage to vocalise them. The Taurus part of us just wants to feel safe and secure, and can help us to recognise our core values and needs and to know our own worth. It is the Mars/Chiron conjunction, combined with Venus, that can help us to actually state these needs and desires, hopefully in a direct, calm and loving manner. There is much healing potential in this Moon if we are brave enough to be vulnerable, honest, direct and open about who we are and what we need.

ARIES NEW MOON - 17 April 2026

Exact at 12.51pm UK time (BST).

This Moon packs a punch, that’s for sure! We have so many planets in Aries, giving us a very big dose of this independent, passionate, direct, forthright, enthusiastic and impulsive sign! This is the first New moon of the astrological year, in the first sign of the zodiac, and this certainly feels like a threshold moment, a new chapter, a fresh start, a point of no return. Aries is the part of us that is willing to be brave enough to start something new. It is the pioneering spirit in all of us that has the courage to venture into uncharted territory and start fresh. Aries calls for us to follow our instinct and impulses, and not overthink things. It encourages us to act first and think later! Aries is the fire starter and the point of ignition which can spark new energy that has the potential to take hold and become a raging fire!

We have the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Chiron, Neptune and Eris all in Aries for this New Moon. That’s a lot of Aries! While Aries is the god of war, it also brings the courage, motivation, drive, desire and energy to venture into new territory and can help us to be open, honest and direct, and to confront things that we may usually shy away from. Aries helps us to simply be ourselves. It is interesting that Mars has also just moved into Aries, on 9 April, as it is very at home in its own sign. Mars in Aries can bring passion, motivation, energy, courage and the capacity for quick, decisive action, helping us to be proactive and trail blazing. However, it can also bring impatience, aggression, anger and the tendency to be too impulsive or hasty. However, sometimes that is exactly what we need – to act without hesitation, on pure instinct, and think about the consequences later!

Mars is also sitting right next to Saturn during this Moon, having first activated Neptune on 13 April. The Saturn Neptune conjunction on 20 February, at 0° Aries, was a very important moment that seeded a new cycle, both collectively and personally. This combination can dissolve old karma and any rigid structures that are no longer viable, and can also help us to turn our dreams and visions into something concrete that has the potential to stand the test of time. We are stepping into a new world, and a new version of ourselves, where the old rules no longer apply.

Both Saturn and Neptune are now being activated by Mercury and Mars going through the first few degrees of Aries. First they hit Neptune, the gatekeeper and dreamer that brings the inspiration and guidance from Spirit, then they hit Saturn, which can then create something solid and long lasting, helping us to follow through on the Neptunian dream and turn our ideals into reality. Aries calls for us to contemplate who we are and who we truly want to be. It is the sign of initiative and action. We are not just passively dreaming and fantasising now, it is time to do something about it.

During this Moon, Mars is joining forces with Saturn, exact 19 April, which could help us to have the courage to commit to a course of action, and can bring disciplined, focused action. However, Saturn can also call for restraint, holding us back from acting, potentially from fear, or possibly because an external force is blocking us. Saturn also represents authority and, combined with Mars, can bring about controlled, aggressive force with long term consequences. Saturn asks for us to be patient and slow down, assess the situation and to be realistic, waiting until the time is right to act. This combination calls for a proper plan and strategic action, and asks for us to respond intentionally rather than knee jerk reactions. Saturn and Mars can also help us to be brave and start something that we mean to continue and commit to in the long term.

Chiron the Wounded Healer is a very prominent feature during this Moon, as it is sitting right next to the Sun and Moon in Aries. It is quite possible that some core wounds and insecurities could come to the surface to be looked at and healed, and we could be more easily triggered. Chiron in Aries could make us all too aware of where we don’t feel very confident or brave, and can highlight where we have felt wounded or rejected for simply being ourselves. While the Aries part of us wants to start something new, Chiron’s presence could show where we feel raw, scared, exposed, insecure and not ready at all! It is important to honour all the feelings that come up during this time, as they are ultimately a gift, showing us what still needs to be healed and integrated.

Mercury has finally moved out of Pisces and is now in direct, candid, open Aries, and is sitting right next to Neptune during this Moon. This is an interesting addition to the energy of this Moon, as it can bring intuitive insights and a sense of being guided, although it may be hard to make sense of it all. We may find ourselves acting on a feeling but not quite being able to explain it, as it may not be “logical” or “rational”. However, it is important to trust our intuition and inner guidance, and to follow our impulses and inner knowing, as we could be planting a seed that may solidify and become more “real”  when Mercury joins Saturn and Mars on 20 April. It may not make sense now, but the conversations we have during this Moon and whatever we imagine and dream up could be very important.

Mercury catches up with Mars and Saturn on 20 April, which could be a more decisive time, with long term consequences. Mercury and Mars in Aries can bring honest, brave, direct, candid conversations that get everything out into the open. Of course, whenever Mars and Aries are involved there is also the potential for anger and heated discussions, as we could get a bit hot under the collar! Saturn calls for us to be realistic in our thinking, and to make a solid, strategic plan of action that we are prepared to follow through with. We could have some very serious conversations that force us to be honest with ourselves and see things as they really are, rather than how we would ideally like them to be.

Saturn asks the question “If you start something now, are you willing to commit to following through on it?”, and “it this dream actually possible in real world terms?” Saturn can help us to turn the Neptunian dream into something real, but it also asks for accountability, personal responsibility, commitment and total awareness of the reality of the situation. Mars in Aries helps us to be very brave and follow our impulses, jumping off the proverbial cliff, while Saturn asks us to do it with our eyes wide open, fully aware of what we are getting ourselves into. Mercury and Neptune sow the seeds during the New Moon, and things get more serious, real and intentional around 19/20 April, when we have the potential to bravely commit to a plan. We might have to be very honest with ourselves and others, however, and decide whether the vision is viable.

Pluto is very much supporting this Moon, forming harmonious aspects to Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Neptune. This can help bring long term transformation and make choices that can affect us on a deep soul level. Pluto in Aquarius is calling for us to find our tribe, gathering with like-minded souls, building community and making change from a grass roots level. The Saturn/Pluto conjunction of January 2020 seeded a new cycle, and this is the next phase. We are called to be the change that we want to see, because how we act and react makes a difference, rippling out into the world. We are asked to contemplate what we want to build in the long term, and who we want to do it with, and then fully commit to it. This is an important time, and an important Moon, as we have the potential to plant seeds that will sprout, grow and blossom, so it is important to be mindful of the choices and decisions we make during this time.

Pluto is also joining forces with Juno, the goddess of long term, committed relationships, also exact on 20 April. This could be an important time for relationships, as we could have honest, open, direct conversations that have a big impact on the trajectory of our relationships, reshaping our commitments at a very deep level. We could be called to be emotionally honest, making important choices and accepting the consequences of those choices. Relationships could deepen or break during this time, and some could be reborn on different terms, as Aquarius calls for freedom, authenticity and an alternative, non-traditional way of being in relationship. The old rules may not apply, so we are asked to find our own, unique way of being in relationship that comes from a very truthful, emotionally honest place.

We do have some balance to all this fiery, enthusiastic, energetic Aries energy, with Venus and Ceres both in grounded, earthy Taurus, reminding us to “take time out to smell the roses”. Ceres encourages us to practice self-care, tending to our emotional well-being with a healthy diet and time spent in nature. Venus reminds us that while there may be a lot of turbulence right now, it is important to connect to the beauty that surrounds us, grounding ourselves in the earth. What do we truly value? What helps us to feel safe and secure? How can we become more self-sufficient and self-reliant?

Uranus is also in the very last degree of Taurus, getting ready to move into Gemini on 26 April. Taurus rules money, Mother Earth and natural resources, and with Uranus in this powerful degree of Taurus, we could experience a shake-up in this area of life in the next couple of weeks. Uranus can bring breakdowns that lead to breakthroughs, and could bring about a shift in our financial system as it holds the potential to liberate us from old, antiquated ways of operating. This is the last time Uranus will be in Taurus for a long time to come, so it will be interesting to see what happens between now and 26 April, as both Mother Earth and the financial system could be a but more volatile. However, change is needed, and that is Uranus’s  superpower!

The Sabian Symbol for this Moon, at 28° Aries, is very interesting indeed: “A large audience confronts the performer who disappointed its expectations”, which Dane Rudyar describes as ”The necessity for mature preparation and self-criticism. Great hopes, excited expectations cannot be sustained. In this symbol the performer is made fully aware of having promised – to the many elements of his own personality as well as perhaps to other human beings – more than he was able to deliver. The issue is how to handle this situation. In one form or another, it is an often recurring situation in the life of an individual person. The manner in which it is met determines the individual’s future possibilities of development and achievement. The individual is not alone concerned, for in a sense mankind as a whole will be affected. What is required, therefore, is an objective inclusiveness of the whole environments; thus a sense of RESPONSIBILITY for what one’s actions will produce in people who have been made to expect significant results.”

A very interesting symbol, which seems to give a nod to both Chiron and Saturn, and feels important on both a personal and collective level. This New Moon does feel like it has the potential to seed something important, and the days between the 17 April and 20 April feel significant too. A lot could come up for us, with Chiron potentially triggering our core wounds and insecurities, but it could ultimately be very healing indeed. There is a forward momentum to Aries, especially with Mars currently in Aries, and we could feel like we are being guided down a new path and into a new chapter, although we may not fully understand it yet. We may simply be called to take a leap of faith and commit to the path that is calling us. It may feel scary, and we may not feel ready, and it may bring a lot up to be looked at, but Aries calls for us to feel the fear and do it anyway, reminding us that if we don’t try, we will never know. It’s time to step up and become who we were put on earth to be.

PISCES NEW MOON - 19 March 2026

Exact at 1.24am UK time (GMT)

This New Moon feels like a time of release and letting go, as it occurs at the very end of Pisces, which is the last sign of the entire zodiac. Two days later, on the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn equinox in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sun moves into direct, forthright, pioneering Aries, the very first sign of the entire zodiac! However, before it leaves Pisces we have this New Moon, gently prompting us to contemplate what still needs healing, what we need to leave behind and what we want to take with us into the next cycle. A Pisces New Moon calls for us to turn inward, listen and pay attention to where we are being guided to plant seeds, setting intentions for what we are carrying forward. Pisces isn’t about thinking our way through – it simply invites us to let go, surrender, accept and allow. If we open our hearts, connect and pay attention to the signs and synchronicities, the way will show itself.

This feels like the kind of Moon that asks us to tie up any loose ends and release old emotional baggage, connections, regrets, illusions and patterns, finding forgiveness, compassion and acceptance in our hearts while also recognising what simply no longer serves us. There can be some sadness and tenderness in the process, and we may feel more sensitive than usual, but we are called to have faith in the process. Pisces encourages us to let go of expectations, surrendering to the flow and trusting that we are being guided in the right direction. It is the part of us that is connected to “all that is”, and reminds us that what happens to one happens to all, because we are all energetically connected. This could be a prolific time for our dream life, and we may be picking up a lot from the collective while we are asleep. And there certainly is a lot going on in the ether right now! Our dreams could have important messages for us, so this could be a good time to keep a dream diary.

Sometimes things don’t make logical sense but we simply have a deep inner knowing that it is the right path. A Pisces New Moon encourages us to trust in the unseen, let go and turn inward, spending time in quiet contemplation so that we can tune in and be able to hear the whispers of guidance that come from within our hearts. We are in an “in between’ space right now, as Aries season is about to begin, calling for us to spur into action. Before we do, we are invited to rest, reflect, watch and wait for the signs and messages that will show us the way.

Interestingly, Mercury, the Messenger of the Gods, is coming to the very end of its retrograde in Pisces, and happens to be sitting right on top of the North Node in Pisces as it does so. This could bring fated conversations, messages, insights, realisations and understandings which can help us grow and move forward. We could receive a very important piece of information that makes a big difference and could even feel like a puzzle piece falling into place. Mercury has been retrograde since 27 February, in dreamy, sensitive, impressionable Pisces, which could have involved a trip down memory lane, especially if there is anything unfinished or unresolved that we might need to revisit.

We may have been looking back with wistful longing, nostalgia or maybe with regret. People from the past may have reappeared in our dreams, or may even have reached out to us, or we may have reached out to them. Memories may have resurfaced and we may have re-visited  or even re-lived situations we thought we had resolved. Pisces can help us to look back with compassion and tenderness, and feel all the feelings, so that we are able to find some kind of healing, closure or release. We have also had Eclipse season, and this set of Eclipses have a connection to the Eclipses of 2007, so we may be completing or continuing something that occurred then.

It is interesting that Mercury will be hovering over the North Node as it turns direct. We could receive some powerful messages and guidance during this time, so it is important to keep an open mind and not try to figure it all out logically, as the guidance is more likely to come in the form of dreams, symbols or synchronistic messages, or intuitive downloads, insights and revelations. Mercury will station direct on 20 March, the day of the Equinox, right on top of the North Node, at 8° Pisces. This feels very significant. It is important to pay attention to what might be revealed to us during this time, as it may show us the way forward. How might the past inform the future? What wisdom can we carry forward with us?

Uranus in Taurus is supporting the Sun and Moon, which is very helpful indeed! This also brings the potential for insights and revelations that bring clarity and can shift our perspective. Uranus can help “wake’ us up and see what we were not able to perceive before. We could find that things somehow fall into place and suddenly make sense in ways that they couldn’t before now. Uranus can help us to shift out of old patterns and ways of doing things that no longer serve us. It can be quite subtle, with Pisces involved, such as an inner realisation, a moment of clarity or an internal shift that somehow makes all the difference and points us in the right direction.

Pluto and Saturn are currently forming a supportive sextile aspect with one another, exact on 29 March, which is building during this Moon. While this Moon in Pisces seems to be bringing some intuitive understanding of what we yearn for, with the potential for revelations and a shift in perspective, Saturn and Pluto can help us to commit to a course of action and actually make transformation happen. This Pisces Moon can make us very aware of what our hearts long for, while Pluto in Aquarius is calling us towards the vision of what we truly want for ourselves, including finding our tribe, building a greater sense of community and connecting with like-minded souls who just “get” us. This is the Aquarian vision, which could feel more and more urgent and compelling as Pluto moves further into Aquarius.

Saturn and Pluto can help us to lay the foundations for a new version of ourselves that is forming, and the feelings, intuitive thoughts, insights, signs, guidance and  impressions that come up around this New Moon can help to show us the way. It is time to release whatever is not meant for us and to set powerful intentions for what we want to build in its place. Those of us with personal planets or angles around 4° of a sign will feel the energy of this Saturn Pluto sextile most acutely. What bricks are we laying right now that could transform our lives for the better and lead us to our heart’s true desire? What choices are we making? What direction are we heading and what “brick” do we need to lay for us to get there?

The Sabian symbol for the Moon, at 29 Pisces, is a powerful one: “Light breaking into many colours as it passes through a prism”, which  Dane Rudyar describes as ”The analytical power of the mind necessary for the formulation of life processes in their many aspects. Cycles of existence begin in unity and end in what I have called “multi-unity.” At the stage of consummation the many individual differences are totalled; they constitute a sum. Within that sum – a unified total – the inevitability of the future process of differentiation is implied, because every cycle leaves a mass of waste products slowly returning to the unconscious state of chemical matter, of “humus.” What the symbol tells us is that unity will always break again into multiplicity. The “prism” is always there. There is no absolute unity; if anything could be called “absolute” it is the relationship between the One and the Many. This symbol points to the fundamental type of operation in all modes of existence. The most beautiful and seemingly everlasting experience of unity will in time be superseded by the need to attend to a multiplicity of details. Existence implies DIFFERENTIATION.”

What might be revealed to us during this tender New Moon, in its many layers? And how might we move forward, based on what we have seen? What insights, dreams and revelations might lead the way? What seeds are we sowing during this Moon? What needs to be left behind in the past and what are we bringing with us? What wisdom are we carrying forward from our past experiences? What needs to be closed, healed and released, and what feels like it is waiting to form? Uranus can help us to suddenly see what we were not able to see before, while Pluto and Saturn can help us to make definitive choices based on what we have realised, laying the groundwork for a new self that is slowly forming. As we approach the very end of Pisces season and prepare for the Equinox, this Moon invites us to be still, tune in and pay attention to the subtle cues and messages that can illuminate the path before us.

AQUARIUS NEW MOON/ANNULAR ECLIPSE - 17 February 2026

2/16/2026

Picture
Exact at 12.01pm UK time.

This marks a long awaited moment, as not only is this New Moon also a Solar Eclipse, but it also marks the end of the Year of the Wood Snake and the beginning of the Year of the Fire Horse, which is markedly different energy! Added to which, we have the Saturn/Neptune conjunction culminating, as it will be exact three days after the New Moon. There is a lot going on! A Solar Eclipse is a super charged New Moon, calling for us to release whatever no longer serves as we enter a new phase, closing one chapter and beginning a new one. It is important to be mindful of the thoughts and conversations that naturally occur during this time, as they will give us clues as to what we are bringing in and what we need to release. It might also be worth looking back to the time of the New Moon on 17 February 2007, and contemplating what was happening then, as there could be some connection between then and now. This is the next phase of growth.

Aquarius is the part of us that seeks to connect with like-minded souls and likes to feel that we are part of a tribe or community, part of something bigger than us. Collectively, we are at an important turning point, and with Pluto currently also in Aquarius we could feel the call to connect and join up with the people that feel aligned with who we truly are, at our core, and where we are going. Aquarius is the eccentric, the disruptor, the revolutionary, the humanitarian and the socially conscious part of us that has visions of a better future based on equality, freedom, brotherhood/sisterhood and progressive ideals. Aquarius is the part of us that questions authority, the power structures and any rules that are unfair, unjust or simply don’t make any sense! As such, this New Moon/Eclipse is a good time to put our ducks in a row and plant the seeds of change. It is time.

This Aquarius New Moon calls for us to let go of the layers of conditioning, shedding the parts of us that have no place in the new world that we are moving into. Who are we, at our core – the authentic truth of who we are, the unique spark that existed before all the layers of life experience and societal/parental conditioning got piled on top of it? It is time to reconnect and remember our true essence. Aquarius calls for utter authenticity, regardless of what other people might think of us. What parts of us have we abandoned in order to fit in, to find love and to be accepted? Is it possible to be fully ourselves, even if it makes others feel uncomfortable because it is not the version of us that they have got used to? And who are the people who allow us to be our true authentic self and, not only that, actively celebrate and encourage it? These are the people we need to be around.

Interestingly, Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, is also squaring the Sun and Moon, which definitely adds extra potency to a Moon that certainly has the potential to spark radical change! Uranus is known as the Great Awakener, the Harbinger of Change, as it is very good at blasting away the cobweb, breathing fresh air and moving us out of any stasis or stagnation. This Moon can certainly help us to step back and see things from a different perspective, detaching from any unhealthy attachments or patterns and gaining greater clarity about what needs to change. Uranus can bring flashes of insight, moments of profound clarity and epiphanies whereby we realise the truth of the matter and see something that cannot be “unseen” once we have seen it.

This is the kind of Moon that could bring shocks, surprises and wake up calls that come from left field and jolt us back into a greater sense of conscious awareness, aligning us with our true path, if we have strayed from it. Uranus demands freedom and seeks to reconnect us with our authentic truth. This Moon certainly does seem to be calling for us to be utterly true to ourselves, dropping the façade, the people pleasing, the false self, the one who plays by the unspoken “rules” and conditions in order to feel accepted and loved. There is something very liberating about this Moon, as we are called to free ourselves of anything that prevents us from living our truth and that might be holding us back from moving forward into this as yet unknown reality that awaits us.

The long awaited Saturn/Neptune conjunction peaks three days after this New Moon, on 20 February. These two powerful planets join forces at 0° Aries, the very first degree of the entire zodiac, which feels so very significant! It feels like something new is being born, unlike anything we have seen before, and there is no precedent, no script, no rule book for what lies ahead of us. It is very exciting, and Aries can give us the energy, courage, drive and motivation to turn our dreams, longings and yearnings (Neptune) into tangible form (Saturn). This combination does not allow for illusions, and we could be called to lay down any dreams, ideals or fantasies that have no real validity or basis in reality.

However, Saturn can help bring discipline, focus, commitment and staying power, while Neptune brings inspiration and the capacity to act on our guidance and inner knowing, instead of simply passively dreaming about it! What is waiting to be born right now, and how can we make it happen? These two planets can be a powerful combination when they work together, because Neptune brings the spiritual guidance and inspiration, and Saturn brings the commitment to follow through on the initial spark of inspiration, while Aries helps us to have courage, try new things and take action.

Neptune can also dissolve Saturnian structures, which happened when Saturn and Neptune were conjunct in Capricorn in 1989/1990, the time of the end of the Soviet Union. It will be interesting to see what dissolves now, as we have many outworn, outdated, corrupt and antiquated power structures that are simply no longer serving us. We are ready for something new, but unclear as to what form it will take. The fact that this conjunction is occurring at the first degree of Aries feels so significant, as it is raw, unfiltered, primal energy and life force, representing the initial spark that lights the fire, the ignition that starts the engine, raw, primal energy and it calls us to act rather than passively waiting for things to change. We are at a point of no return.

Those of us with personal planets and angles around 0° of a sign will feel the energy of this powerful conjunction most acutely, especially the cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. It certainly does feel like we are on the verge of something new and unlike anything we have ever seen, and what might need to fall away in order for it to take its place? The Sabian symbol for 0° Aries is “A woman just risen from the sea. A seal is embracing her”. Rudyar describes it as “Emergence of new forms and of the potentiality of consciousness”. It brings a sense of a new beginning, a clean slate, emerging from the womb and birthing something new and as yet unknown and unrealised. And how amazing that it is part of this powerful New Moon/Eclipse/Chinese New Year, which also symbolises a new chapter?!

There is another conjunction that feels very important and is exact on the day of the New Moon. Venus is sitting right next to the North Node in Pisces, bringing the potential for fated encounters, destined relationships that help bring soul growth and a sense of being guided by our hearts. Love will show us the way and will lead us to where we need to be, as long as we are able to soften, let go, surrender and flow with the natural current. The Pisces North Node reminds us to let go of striving or forcing, but to simply allow. What relationships feel spiritually aligned with where we are going and who we really are? Where, and towards whom do we seem to be naturally guided right now, with no effort on our part? Where is the flow of the river taking us?

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon, at 29° Aquarius, is such an appropriate and beautiful one: “A butterfly emerging from a chrysalis”, which Dane Rudyar describes as ”The capacity to utterly transform the character of one’s consciousness by radically altering the structural patterns of everyday living and the types of relationships one enters upon. Here what is emphasised is the process of metamorphosis itself. This symbol stresses that nothing short of a complete renewal of all the implications of being alive as a human individual will do. A radical change is needed. This change is individual and mental, and it should be seen against the background of humanity as a whole. What is revealed is the potential ability of every human being to participate in a higher realm of evolution AFTER his or her emergence from a critical state of transition. The keyword is METAMORPHOSIS.  In spiritual terms, this implies “initiation,” i.e. entering a higher realm of conscious existence and there joining a sacred Company.”

It is quite an amazing symbol, that not only speaks to the potential for radical change that the Aquarius New Moon and Uranus bring, but also feels resonant of the new beginnings and new birth potential of the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in the first degree of the zodiac. This is a moment that is utterly unique and will never come again, and if it does it will not be for thousands of years. We have been preparing for this, and are ready to emerge for the “critical state of transition”. It is time to break free from the limitations represented by the chrysalis and reveal the full radiance of all that we are!

It is so interesting that the movement of Saturn and Neptune into fiery Aries coincides with the Year of the Fire Horse, as this could be a very fast-paced year with an unstoppable momentum that calls for us to be very brave and break free from limitations, moving towards whatever makes us feel most alive and free. The Fire Horse doesn’t hesitate, it doesn’t fear change and is fiercely authentic. It calls for us to act on our impulses, take risks and act decisively. The Fire burns away anything that holds back necessary change. This year could certainly take us for a ride (pardon the pun), and is surely starting off with a bang! We have done the shedding, with a Number 9 Year, the Year of the Snake and the end of Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. We have been called, in recent times, to clear the way, to close a karmic cycle, grieve, release, let go, surrender and forgive ourselves and others. Now it is time for the next chapter. So it shall be.

Much Love

CAPRICORN NEW MOON - 18 January 2026

Exact at 7.50pm UK time (GMT)

This is an incredibly powerful and potent New Moon which brings the potential for us to lay down some strong foundations for what we wish to manifest in the next chapter that awaits us. It is as if we are standing at the threshold of something new and as yet unknown to us, and this Moon encourages us to leave behind us all that we are finished with so that we can move forward clear and unfettered. A lot of the planets involved in this lunation are at the very end of their sign, including the Sun and Moon, so this is a time of completion, closure, culmination and preparation, whereby we are called to release and clear any thoughts, beliefs, karmic contracts, ways of relating, situations or patterns that have no place in where we are going. We are standing in a doorway, ready to step through into who knows what, so we must decide what to take with us and what needs to stay behind.

This Capricorn New Moon can help us to lay down some very solid, mature, intentional, well-considered foundations for what we wish to build for ourselves moving forward. We are being given the opportunity to lay the groundwork for a future that is as yet unknown and unlike anything we have seen before. Capricorn encourages us to decide what is important to us and to make a commitment to see it through. Interestingly, Neptune is involved in this Moon, calling for us to go with the flow and be open to the signs and synchronicities that will show us the way forward, loosening any need to control outcomes. As such, the final destination remains fluid, rather than rigid, concrete or set in stone. This Capricorn New Moon simply asks for us to say a solemn “yes”, making a  heartfelt vow to allow our heart’s true desire to slowly take form, while letting go of anything that might stand in its way.

This Capricorn Moon encourages building something over time, in a slow, patient, intentional, mature manner, rather than an impulsive leap. Capricorn calls for responsibility, accountability and commitment to something real, lasting and solid that can withstand the test of time. Capricorn is in it for the long haul, and likes to build strong foundations, brick by brick. Our inner Capricorn is always willing to work on things, even if it is hard. Capricorn season has been helping us to mature, to get real, make commitments and truly take responsibility for ourselves, our actions and reactions. It has helped us to create healthy boundaries that protect us and keep us safe. Drawing a line in the sand can be very helpful and kind for everyone involved, as they then know exactly where they stand, as there is no ambiguity or blurred lines.

We are preparing for some big planetary shifts in the coming month, with Neptune and Saturn moving from the last sign of the zodiac into the first sign, not to mention the Year of the Fire Horse beginning on 17 February! There is a sense that things are going to shift and change, and so this Moon asks us to clear anything that might still stand in the way of what we want to bring in. This is the end of a karmic cycle, and this Moon calls for us to release the old, outworn programming, so that we are able to operate on a different level. It is hard to know what lies around the next bend in the river, but our thoughts create reality, so it is important to imagine the best outcomes and conjure the life we would most like to live, both personally and collectively. What intentions do we want to put in each brick that we lay down?

Uranus in Taurus is forming a supportive harmonious trine aspect to the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars, which could bring insight, clarity and a different perspective to help shift us out of stasis and enable us to break through to the other side. Uranus can help us to see so clearly where we might be stuck or resistant to change, and once we see something that clearly it is hard to unsee it. We may gain more insight into our patterns, thought processes, programming and attitudes, which can create a shift that could be quite profound. Uranus is the planet of freedom that liberates us from the known, and so there is a sense that whatever structures we build and whatever foundations we lay down during this time could ultimately bring a sense of liberation and the freedom to be who we really, truly are, at our core.

Saturn, the ruler of this Moon, is also forming a harmonious, supportive sextile aspect to the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars. Saturn in Pisces can help bring form and structure to any long held dreams or longings. It can literally help us to dream up our new, ideal, longed for reality. Saturn also rules endings, limitations and karmic cycles, and with Saturn coming to the end of Pisces we could experience the closure of a karmic cycle, a sense of completion and culmination and the sense of getting ready to move into the next phase. We may need to put some boundaries in place in order to move forward, as Saturn asks us to choose what we are bringing with us and what must be left behind. There is a sense the most of the work is done now, and that we are in the waiting room, waiting for the door to open so we can then see what comes next.

Saturn moves into Aries on 14 February and joins forces with Neptune on 17 February, which is also the Aquarius New Moon/Eclipse, and the beginning of the year of the Fire Horse, bringing new energy and new life. The Sabian Symbol for 0° Aries, where these two powerful planets meet, is “A woman just risen from the sea. A seal is embracing her”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “Emergence of new forms and of the potentiality of consciousness.” So interesting also that Saturn can give form and structure to our Neptunian dreams, yearnings and longings. Indeed, Neptune represents consciousness and Saturn represents form.

Neptune is currently still at 29° Pisces, which is the very last degree of the entire zodiac, preparing to make the shift into Aries on 27 January. It is also forming a sextile to the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars. There is a higher intelligence at work here, and we are called to trust in it and allow anything that needs to fall away to do so, with grace, compassion, forgiveness and acceptance. We are at the end of a cycle that began in April 2011, when Neptune first went into Pisces.

Neptune’s involvement brings a sense of quiet inner knowing that somehow we are laying the foundation for something both beautiful and aligned. It is important to pay attention to our dreams and to be open to the signs and synchronicities that show us that we are heading in the right direction. Whatever is meant for us should feel effortless, with no need to force anything. A chapter is ending and we are called to close the door, very gently, with love, and not look back. We have learned all that we can now, and we are preparing to step into a new way of being that is the culmination of all the wisdom we have accrued over the past few years. We have an opportunity, right now, to carry forward the wisdom from the lessons learned and to release the pain attached to them, so that we can step onto a path that feels absolutely right, as if it is the reward for all that we have been through. This is an important moment, when something is dissolving before we can experience the new dawn.

Pluto and Venus are also joining together in Aquarius, exact on 19/20 January. This conjunction adds significantly to the energy of this New Moon, as it brings the potential for transforming the way we operate in relationships, releasing our more conditioned way of being in relationship and opening up to a new way of relating that is freer, lighter, and more aligned with our truth. This combination brings the potential for sowing the seeds for a radically honest, open, authentic way of relating that is very different, new, refreshing and aligned. It is time to throw the rule book out and venture on a new journey of discovery!

This New Moon brings the potential for soul connections that offer growth and freedom, and feel like they are the way forward into this new reality that is forming. The Capricorn energy can help us to create better boundaries and lay the groundwork so that we can build something that has integrity, maturity, mutual accountability and the potential to be long lasting, and this includes our relationships. With Pluto and Venus in Aquarius, we have the potential for a rebirth in the realm of our values, self-worth and relationships, whereby we have a chance to release ourselves from the old, outworn, programmed way of relating that hasn’t worked for us so far. It’s time to try something new on for size!

Mars and Mercury and also joining forces in Capricorn, and are only two degrees away from this New Moon. This combination can bring the courage to have some honest, direct, open, mature, frank, realistic, brave, bare-bones conversations that we might have been putting off because they are too hard. There is no sugar coating with Mars and Mercury in Capricorn, so we could be called to be very real! Indeed, this is a very decisive combination that could involve us facing reality and setting some strong intentions that we are prepared to take full responsibility for. We may be called to state our bottom line, drawing a line in the sand and setting some clear intentions and  boundaries. We are called to be very honest with ourselves and others and could make a decision or inner commitment that somehow shapes our destiny.

What a powerful combo to have on a New Moon, as it combines our will with our thoughts and can be strongly intentional. Those of us with personal planets or angles between 26° and 29° of a sign, especially the cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, will be feeling the energy of Mars, Mercury, the Sun, Moon and all of these other planets close to the end of the sign that they are in. What a powerful Moon this is!

The Sabian symbol, at 29° Capricorn, definitely gives a nod to the Neptune energy in the Moon: “A woman reading tea leaves”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The ability to see the signature of hidden meaning in every occurrence drawing one’s attention. Man has always sought to interpret the meaning of events or situations which baffle him in terms of specific omens or “Signatures.” The reading of tea leaves is only a commonplace modern version of a certain type of procedure used by priests of all ancient religions. The practice is based on a realisation of “the relation of everything to everything else” – a definition of astrology given by Marc Jones. Dream interpretation in depth psychology belongs to the same category, as it is based upon the establishment of a close connection between the unconscious and the conscious. But in dream analysis the individual unconsciousness, at least at first, is mainly referred to, while in omens (or modern fortune telling at its best) one relies upon the power of occult forces or entities to convey the information that will clarify confusing situations. What is implied here is the ability not only to perceive the facts of everyday existence, but to see through these facts and discover how they are related to the realm of basic meanings or archetypal processes. This is essentially what is meant by true CLAIRVOYANCE, the capacity to see in everything the Signature of deeper realities.”

What potential this Moon holds! It certainly doesn’t feel like we are supposed to force anything, rather we are called to follow the calling of our hearts and recognise and commit to what is unfolding naturally. There is a sense that the lessons have been learned and the time is ripe to move on, consciously. This Moon seems to bring a powerful message to release anything that is not ours to carry forward. It is a time to forgive, let go, make peace with the past and to make a clear decision about the kind of reality we want to create. We are ready, and it is time to welcome the new energy coming in, whatever it may look like, making conscious choices about what comes with us and what we leave behind. What kind of reality do we want to create? Now is the time to lay down the foundations for this next cycle with intention, love, trust and accountability. Soon the doors will open, but first we must do that last little bit of work to clear the way.

Much Love

SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON - 20 December 2025

12/18/2025

Picture
Exact at 1.43am UK time (GMT)

This particular New Moon is full to the brim with Sagittarius, and is a reminder to keep the faith. We have the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Juno all in this hopeful, optimistic, forward thinking, philosophical sign, helping us to look forward, aim high and set some hopeful intentions for the month ahead. It might be interesting to note the conversations and subject matter of our musings during this time, as this will give us a clue as to our deepest hopes and wishes. Something may need to be left behind in the dark of the Moon, making space for what is waiting to come in. This number 9/ Snake year has been a time of releasing and shedding, and we are now approaching the Solstice, so this Sagittarius Moon calls for us to do some more clearing, releasing and letting go and then we are encouraged to look forward and not look back.

Sagittarius is the part of us that has faith, and seeks to understand the truth of life and our existence. It is the part of us that experiences intuitive “knowing”, even if we can’t  exactly rationally explain why or how we know what we know. Sagittarius is the adventurous part of us that likes to roam free, opening our minds and broadening our horizons. It is the part of us that dreams of greener pastures and can sometimes feel restless and dissatisfied with life if it has become too dull, stagnant or routinised. Sagittarius questions and explores and is always seeking to grow and expand. It helps us to see the silver lining in every cloud and the light at the end of every tunnel, because it understands that every experience, no matter how difficult, has something to teach us and can help us to grow. It helps us to maintain a sense of humour even in the most difficult of times.

This could be a good Moon for contemplating what truly inspires us and ignites our passion and enthusiasm, and for setting intentions that can help us to grow and expand beyond where we are now. It might help to look at where we feel stuck or restless, and to recognise what is holding us back from what we truly want for ourselves. We could be called to be really honest with ourselves, recognising any beliefs, patterns, obstacles or attitudes that might be preventing us from taking the leap of faith that we so dearly desire. Sagittarius isn’t afraid to shoot for the stars, but so often we hesitate to aim that high, as doubts and fears get in the way. This Moon invites us to truly let go of what is not meant for us so that we can fully focus on what we want to bring in. “Keep the Faith!” says Sagittarius! Sometimes that is not so easy, however.

The ruler of this Sagittarius Moon is Jupiter, which is currently retrograde in Cancer, which could make it a bit harder to see our way forward, or to feel quite as upbeat, hopeful, enthusiastic, jovial and optimistic as we might usually do during Sagittarius season. Jupiter is very happy in Cancer, however, bringing warmth, emotional intelligence, generosity of spirit and helping us to share our feelings and vulnerabilities with one another. It points towards quieter, more private emotional growth, whereby we benefit from tending to our inner world rather than chasing something outside of ourselves or some far away dream.

Growth is an inside job when Jupiter is in sensitive, nurturing, family-oriented Cancer! Our emotions have great wisdom and can show us the way. We may benefit greatly from exploring our ancestral line during this time, and recognising the beliefs and patterns that have carried forward from generation to generation.

While we do have a lot of Sagittarius energy during this Moon, the Sun, Moon, Venus and Juno are all being challenged by Saturn and Neptune in Pisces and Uranus in Taurus, which could temper the enthusiasm somewhat, making the atmosphere feel a bit heavy and bleak and testing our faith somewhat. Both Saturn and Neptune are back in Pisces having dipped into pioneering, energetic Aries for a little while this year. They have some finishing off to do in Pisces! Saturn is the planet of structure, limitation, commitment and reality, and could have a bit of a sobering effect on this Sagittarius New Moon. Sagittarius has ultimate faith and sets its sights high, while Saturn calls for us to ground our dreams in reality and could bring up fears and doubts, testing our optimism and faith. Sagittarius is a bit like enthusiastic and buoyant Tigger from the Winnie the Pooh books, while Saturn brings Eeyore energy to rain on Tigger’s parade!

The square between Saturn and Venus is building in strength during this Moon, exact on 21 December, the day of the Solstice. This can be a testing time for our relationships and self-worth, Although it could help us to be very real with one another. It could also bring fear of lack and a need to tighten the purse strings. Saturn calls for us to get real about our relationships and financial situation, seeing things as they really are rather than how we would like them to be. It can also help us to create better boundaries, especially if we have been over-extending and over-giving. Venus in Sagittarius wants to have a jolly time and is very sociable, while Saturn can bring more restraint and could even bring feelings of loneliness, heaviness or withholding of affection. We could experience inner conflict between the seasonal pressure to be uber sociable and the need to turn inward and embrace solitude. In an ideal world we will be able to honour both.

Neptune is still sitting at 29° Pisces, the very last degree of the entire zodiac, which feels so poignant as we come to the end of this Snake/Number 9 year. There is a sense that we are closing a chapter, but it is unclear what is coming next, as Neptune can make things rather confusing and foggy. This is a time of release, surrender and letting go, and we could experience feelings of grief, overwhelm, confusion or disillusionment as we do so. Neptune is the ruler of the Pisces North Node, which is calling for us to let go of the need to control outcomes and simply surrender to the flow, accepting what is rather than trying to force anything. Neptune is calling for us to clear and wash away anything that is still muddying our waters.

Sagittarius is full of energy, enthusiasm, faith and fire, while Neptune in this very important degree of Pisces is calling for us to turn within and be still. Neptune square the Sun, which is exact early on 21 December, can bring fatigue, listlessness, confusion, overwhelm and ungroundedness. As such, it is so important that we are kind to ourselves and others during this New Moon and Solstice, and do what we can to ground ourselves. It is an ideal time to strengthen our relationship with Spirit, through meditation, prayer, singing, dancing, spending time in nature or whatever brings us a sense of spiritual connection. Our dream life could be prolific and our dreams could contain important messages, and it is important to pay attention to the subtle signs and messages that the universe is sending our way.

Neptune goes back into Aries on 27 January, sparking new energy, and until then we are called to release, surrender, grieve, forgive, let go, allow and accept. It may not make sense, but this is a time of completion, when things may simply fall away, because they are not meant for us anymore. It might help to look back to March 30 2025, and the few weeks that preceded it, as this is when Neptune first left Pisces to move into Aries, so the energy of that time is akin to now. Except that this time Neptune will be leaving Pisces for good. This is a powerful and important time in our spiritual journey and it will be interesting to see what might happen between now and 27 January. What might need to dissolve and end? What needs to be washed away? Who and what do we need to forgive so that we can move onto the next phase, whatever that might look like? What do we need to let go of, once and for all, so that we can move on?

Uranus is forming a nagging inconjunct aspect to the Sun and Moon, which could add to the restless energy of this Sagittarius New Moon. Uranus in Taurus can make us all too aware of where we are stuck or stagnant and what needs to change. Uranus can be quite disruptive, bringing curve balls and sudden jolts that create greater awareness, insight and clarity around what needs to change in our lives. Our nervous systems could feel a bit jangly, and we could feel on edge and vaguely unsettled, which could bring feelings of anxiety, especially combined with the energy of Saturn and Neptune. We could feel a bit uncomfortable, feeling like the ground is shifting under our feet but not knowing what lies ahead. However, ultimately Uranus can liberate us from unhealthy patterns and bring clarity, revelation and insight, so maybe we simply need to obey Saturn and be patient and wait. All will be revealed in the fullness of time.

Mercury in Sagittarius is directly square the Node of the Moon, which could mean that while our minds want certainty and to make sense of things, there are somethings that our minds simply can’t fathom, and this could be one of those times! The North Node in Pisces is calling for us to simply trust and allow things to unfold as they will, putting our faith in a higher intelligence and an unknown outcome. There could be fated conversations, messages, communications or inner realisations that are somehow very important during this Moon. We could be called to trust our intuitive hunches, reading between the lines and paying attention to the hidden meaning and subtle signs and synchronicities. Sometimes we need to give the mind a rest and admit that we don’t know, putting our trust in something bigger and more divinely intelligent than ourselves, and this might be one of those moments. Some things are too big for the limited capacity of our rational minds to grasp. We simply need faith.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 29° Sagittarius, is intriguing: “A fat boy mowing the lawn of his house on an elegant suburban street”, which Dane Rudyar describes as: “The need to attend to everyday tasks which both ensure social worth or respectability, and benefit one’s constitution. A well-attended front lawn is a symbol of the homeowner’s concern for his social position and of his desire to give beautiful form to the growth of natural forces, thus revealing his appreciation of order and aesthetic values. The “fat boy” suggests that constructive working habits are needed to compensate for self-indulgence in the amenities of social living. This symbol speaks of one of the commonplace technical imperatives which face an individual belonging to the social elite. It reveals another phase in the cycle relationship between the individual and the community, and the need to maintain SOCIAL RESPECTABILITY.”

Sagittarius is such an enthusiastic sign that can bring so much optimism, faith and hope, even in the darkest of times. This Moon urges us not to lose faith, even when things seem hard, heavy, dark or bleak. Venus sitting right next to the Sun and Moon certainly brings the potential for love, affection and a sense of humour as we approach the Solstice.  With Saturn and Neptune involved, however, we could experience feelings of overwhelm, sensitivity, fear or even foreboding, and we may struggle to feel grounded with the fast pace of a Sagittarius season. We are being called to clear, wash away and release, finding true compassion and forgiveness in our hearts so that we can fully let go and move on. What awaits us on the other side is unknown, but Sagittarius invites us to keep the faith, look forward and don’t look back. It’s time to let the light in.

Much Love

SCORPIO NEW MOON  - 20 November 2025

11/17/2025

Picture
Exact at 6.45am UK time (GMT)

This is an incredibly potent New Moon in an extremely powerful sign! This New Moon is part of a beautiful, flowing grand water trine that could really open us up emotionally, so that we have no choice but to feel all of the feelings! We are now coming to the end of Scorpio season, which is a time when things get dredged up and we are forced to be very real and face our shadows. Feelings could come up that might not be very comfortable, and we could be called to hold the mirror up and confront anything that has been pushed down, hidden and ignored, especially if it is holding us back from our full potential, or sabotaging our lives, families and personal relationships. Scorpio isn’t afraid to look under the proverbial carpet and see what is festering there, and this could be an ideal opportunity to have a good, thorough clear out!

We have the Sun, Moon and retrograde Mercury all sitting together in intense, soulful, psychologically astute Scorpio, which could help us to confront come rather uncomfortable subject matter, exposing the parts of us that we would rather deny, hide from, push into the shadows and sweep under the carpet. This Moon is an ideal time to bring the skeletons out of the closet and look at our darkest secrets, our feelings of guilt or shame, our regrets and hidden resentments, and to face any patterns that might be holding us from being where we want to be. So often there are those things that “never get talked about” within families and close relationships, but they are there nevertheless, running in the background, wreaking havoc, creating an insidious undercurrent that slowly but surely chips away at the health of the relationship or family system.

This is the kind of Moon that can help us to own the disowned parts of ourselves, to confide our darkest secrets, to confront our deepest desires, blocks, fears, shame and regrets. It can help us to bring it all out into the open, to be aired and seen for what it is. Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, so memories could resurface that could bring up feelings of tenderness, regret or anger, and we could feel the need to apologise or forgive, even if it is only within our hearts. Indeed, people could literally pop up from our past with whom we have unfinished business that needs resolving somehow. We are so often our own worst enemy and can be much harder on ourselves than others ever would be. This could be a good Moon to bring it all out into the open and find forgiveness and acceptance for whatever rises to the surface. It is time to let it all go, as it doesn’t do any good to hold onto it.

The Grand Water Trine could really help, as we have Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn and Neptune in Pisces and the Sun, Moon and Mercury in Scorpio all supporting each other, helping to go deep and feel all of the feelings, even if they happen to be deeply uncomfortable! Indeed, it can help to watch what comes up around this time, because our emotions could be some kind of signpost, showing us our deepest desires and highlighting  where we are blocked and what we need to work on or release. This could be a time of catharsis, truth telling, completion, closure and emotional breakthrough, when we are called to tune in and connect to our inner guidance system. Our emotions can teach us so much, if we are only willing to listen.

Interestingly, all of the planets involved in the Grand Water Trine are retrograde right now, aside from the Sun and Moon. There is a sense that this is not so much a time for pushing forward, but more of an inside job - a time of inward reflection, of shedding, releasing old patterns, tuning into spirit, developing greater trust in our inner knowing, paying attention to our dreams, feeling into the subtle undercurrents and hidden nuances and listening to what our emotions are telling us. What needs to be released before we can move forward? What attachments, beliefs, emotional patterns, habits or coping mechanisms need to be left behind so that we can embark upon the next chapter? What is holding us back or blocking growth?

With Mercury so much a part of this New Moon, we could be called to give voice to the feelings that arise in us, even if it feels very uncomfortable. We may have intense, raw, truthful conversations that penetrate to the heart of the matter, or we may feel called to communicate old, deep, buried resentments, shame or regrets that may have been subtly eroding or undermining trust, connection, closeness and intimacy. Neptune can help us to find compassion, forgiveness and acceptance for whatever comes up, even if it brings up discomfort. We may have to look back into the past and confront whatever has been left unsaid or unfinished so that healing can occur and we can find a greater sense of peace. The veil could be thin during this time and we could feel much more connected, in tune and in touch with our intuitive and psychic side. Indeed, this is a good time to trust our spider sense and look out for the signs and omens.

Uranus is also a huge part of this Moon, opposing the Sun, Moon and Mercury and exactly sextile Neptune! This could bring moments of profound clarity, epiphanies,  revelations, realisations and emotional insight. Uranus can bring sudden change, wake up calls and big shifts that help us to see where we are blocked, jolting us out of stagnation and putting us back on the right track. We could receive unexpected news, or have an intuitive download or insight that literally comes from out of the blue and completely shifts our perspective. We may suddenly realise a truth that we have been avoiding looking at, or find ourselves able to finally break out of a rut, pattern or habit that we have been stuck in recently.

With Uranus and Neptune forming an exact, supportive sextile to one another, we have the potential for moments of sudden, intuitive “knowing”, messages and downloads from our dreams and solutions that seem magical, aligned and miraculous. This combination could bring moments of serendipity and synchronicity, and a feeling that we are being divinely guided. Uranus energy can be quite shocking and revelatory, while Neptune in Pisces softens the energy so that we could simply feel that things are somehow clicking into place, like a missing jigsaw piece and a huge “Aha” moment.

Combined with the Scorpio energy, we could be called to be completely honest about our hearts true desires, recognising  where we are blocked and what we have been avoiding looking at. It can also help us release ourselves from the past, liberating ourselves from unhealthy attachments, old beliefs, coping mechanisms, regrets and shame, and finding compassion and acceptance for whatever comes up in the meantime.  It is important to be open to any messages that might come through from Spirit during this time, whether it be through dreams, oracle cards, chance encounters, and random messages, or through prayer or meditation. There is the potential for gaining greater understanding of the path forward, and it may be somewhat unexpected with Uranus involved!

Those of us with personal planets or angles between 25° and 29° of a sign will feel the energy of this New Moon and Grand Water Trine the most acutely. This New Moon certainly could bring some intense and powerful emotions to the surface, but this is precisely what can help us to recognise what needs to be changed, unblocked or released, or brought out from under the carpet! With Uranus, the Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury all in Taurus and Scorpio, the financial axis, we could find that issues around material security, self-worth, power, the economy, survival, investments and our relationship to money could come up to be looked at, both personally and collectively. We could be called to reinvent and reorient somehow, and rethink our strategy, which could call for us to be completely and utterly honest about what needs to change. However, Uranus and the Grand Trine can help us to find magical and aligned solutions!

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 29° Scorpio, is an intriguing one: “An Indian squaw pleading to the Chief for the lives of her children”, which Dane Rudyar describes as” Love as a principle of redemption. Here the soul is presented as a mother whose sons (i.e. her active energies) have become disruptive forces in the collective life of the tribe. She seeks to counteract the karma of their misdeeds through her love and implorations. The soul is responsive to the experience of unity (the spiritual king or chief) but the energies of human nature often follow their self-seeking, divisive tendencies. This symbol presents us with the value of prayer. The principle of wholeness in man – the soul – acts to offset or attenuate the dictates of karma. In a religious sense, Mary, the Mother, is seen as the Mediatrix, in constant acts of INTERCESSION for the sake of waylaid individuals.”

The power of prayer cannot be overestimated, nor can the power of love. There is definitely something more inward about this Moon, with so much planetary energy in water now. It seems that we are being called to recognise any old energy we are holding onto that is blocking us or holding us prisoner, and to bring compassion and acceptance to whatever comes up. This Moon does seem to hold the potential to liberate us from our blocks, attachments and unhelpful patterns, although we may need to feel all of the uncomfortable feelings and be completely honest with ourselves in order to reap the rewards that the Grand Trine can bring, which involves us holding the mirror up and having a long, hard look at what we see. There really is some magical potential in this Moon, so it is important to be open to the signs, omens and synchronicities, and to not be afraid to look under that pesky carpet and do some deep cleaning! Sometimes the biggest treasures are the ones buried in the biggest shadows.

LIBRA NEW MOON - 21 October 2025

Exact at 1.25pm UK time (BST)

This is quite a potent New Moon, as it is being activated by a lot of the heavyweight planets in one way or another. We could be called to leave something behind in the dark of the Moon that no longer serves us, to allow space for whatever is waiting to come in. This is a time for planting seeds for the month ahead, so it could help to be mindful of the thoughts that pop up during this time, the signs and omens that show the way and the conversations we have, as they could hold clues that reveal our deeper desires and intentions for growth. Libra is the sign of relationship, amongst other things, so we could find that our relationship patterns come to the fore during this Moon, potentially calling for us to decide what we need from our relationships as we move forward. We could find that new relationships come in, or we could have endings and/or an opportunity for a new beginning within our current relationships.

The Libra part of us likes things to be balanced, fair, harmonious, equal, reciprocal and mutual, so this could be a good time to consider what might be out of balance in our lives, and to recalibrate in order to bring a greater sense of harmony and equilibrium. What feels out of balance at the moment, physically, emotionally, spiritually? Is there a situation in our lives that feels unfair or unjust, and how can we redress the balance? Is there an equal balance between giving and receiving in our relationships? Do we tend to turn the other cheek and avoid conflict for the sake of keeping the peace or maintaining connection? Do we tend to lose ourselves in relationship? Are we prone to people pleasing? How can we better turn up in our relationships – what do we need to work on in ourselves, and what might we need from others? Where have we been compromising too much, or sitting on the fence? How can we bring more beauty and harmony into our lives?

Venus, the planet of love and beauty and the ruler of this Moon, is also in Libra, which is her home sign so she is happy there. Venus could make it easier to find a happy medium with others, finding a greater sense of peace, fairness and harmony and resolving any conflict. The Libra part of us can be very diplomatic and tactful and helps us to bring things up in a reasonable, considerate manner rather than being reactive or defensive.  Venus in Libra is very refined and graceful and really appreciates beauty, so this could be a good time to beautify ourselves or our surroundings in some way. It could also be a great time for collaboration, as Venus brings out our more sociable side and helps greatly with teamwork and cooperation. If we need to resolve something with anyone, this energy can help each person to really listen to each other and express their needs.

Interestingly, we also have Mars, the warrior planet, joining forces with Mercury, the planet of the mind and communication, in an exact conjunction, so it’s a good job we have all of this Libra energy around to smooth things over! However, this conjunction could be very helpful, as it brings the courage to confront and act upon anything we might have been trying to sweep under the carpet or ignore. Mars and Mercury are in Scorpio, a sign that calls for emotional honesty and isn’t afraid to peer into the shadows and bring up uncomfortable material. There is certainly the potential for power plays, heated discussions, truth-telling and conversations that really penetrate to the heart of the matter. This combination certainly won’t allow us to gloss things over or avoid confronting ourselves, and helps us to be real, even if it’s not “pretty” or “nice”.

However, the Libran energy can help us to have honest, revealing, questioning conversations both with ourselves and others while still being kind, tactful and graceful. In fact, when we are brave enough to be real, raw, honest, open, exposed and vulnerable, it can lead to a greater sense of connection and intimacy. Interestingly, Mars and Mercury are part of a harmonious Grand trine with Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn and the North Node in Pisces, helping bring a caring, nurturing energy and emotional intelligence to the picture, as well as grounded intuition, sensitivity, healthy boundaries, empathy and compassion. With the North Node involved, this could be a proper fated soul growth moment, especially for those of us with personal planets and angles between 15° and 22° of a sign. Mars and Mercury are at 20° Scorpio, while the North Node is currently at 17° Pisces.

Chiron the Wounded Healer in Aries is opposing the Libra Sun and Moon, which could also force us to be honest and open about our needs. Chiron is bringing deep healing around our right to exist and simply be who we are, as well as exposing any fears that if we assert ourselves, do what’s right for us or express our needs it will disturb the peace somehow or bring rejection or disconnection. The opposition between Libra and Aries calls for us to figure out a way to have connection and balanced relationships without abandoning ourselves or sacrificing our needs. Ultimately, we are being called to find a healthy balance between our need to be in relationship and our need for self-ownership and honouring our own path. Sometimes it is hard to find that balance!

Combined with Mars and Mercury in Scorpio, we have the potential for bringing hidden resentments out into the open and talking about them honestly and openly. We can’t have true harmony within our relationships unless we are brave enough to speak up. It doesn’t do anybody a service to hide our true feelings out of fear of rocking the boat or fear that we will be rejected for who we are. Silence and hidden resentment can destroy trust within our relationships in such an insidious way. This Moon seems to be asking us to be real and truthful, even if it is uncomfortable. And it starts with being honest with ourselves. Luckily, Venus in Libra is here to smooth the way and bring grace and consideration to our interactions!

The Sun and Moon are also the focal point of yet another Yod, or Finger of God formation, albeit this one is out of sign at the time the Moon is exact. Neptune and Uranus are both “pointing the finger” at the Sun and Moon while Pluto is forming a dynamic square to this lunation. We have such potential for profound shifts, soul growth, moments of clarity and spiritual insight at the moment, with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all connecting harmoniously with one another. There is the possibility of epiphanies, shifts in perspective, serendipitous opportunities and “aha” moments that can bring about profound transformation and growth, restoring balance. If we are open and listening, there is a sense that Spirit is very present and is sending us quite obvious messages, synchronicities and crystal-clear realisations, some of which could be quite uncomfortable and call for us to be very honest with ourselves. However, such amazing breakthroughs are possible right now!

Neptune moves from Aries back into Pisces only a few hours after the New Moon, where it will remain at 29° Pisces, the very last degree of the entire zodiac, until 27 January. This feels significant somehow, and could involve some kind of release and tying up loose ends, creating closure and completing a cycle that began when Neptune went into Pisces in 2011. 29° Pisces is such a powerful degree, and symbolises surrender, release, endings, spiritual connection, illusion and unity.  We could experience greater sensitivity, compassion, empathy and unity, and our connection to spirit could be very much heightened. The veil between the worlds could be thinner during this time, and our dream life could be quite fruity!

Neptune is the ruler of the Pisces North Node, so we are encouraged to let go and be open to the synchronicities, clues and signs that are guiding us to wherever we are supposed to be. What do we need to release, surrender or dissolve before we start fresh when Neptune moves into Aries for good? What cycle is ending? The house that Neptune is currently travelling through in our chart could hold some clues. We are called to turn inward and connect to our internal guidance system, especially if we feel confused, uncertain, oversensitive or overwhelmed. This isn’t a time to force things, as it will be much easier if we let go of the reins, lay back and enjoy the ride.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 29° Libra, is a powerful one: ”Mankind’s vast and enduring effort to reach for knowledge transferable from generation to generation”, which Dane Rudyar describes as ”A deep sense of participation in and commitment to, social processes which seek to bring to all men Truth and greater Life. The most characteristic trait in human nature is the ability to “bind time” (as Korzybsky once stated): that is, to transfer to other men as yet unborn the harvest of his conscious experiences and his deliberate endeavours. This ability far transcends instinct and biological mutations, for it is based on consciousness, choice, will and self-sacrifice for the sake of future human beings. It rests upon a deep feeling of the value of “community”; its use increases this feeling and eventually destroys the roots of loneliness. This symbol suggests the technique that makes a life truly “human.” To join other men and women in the vast process of a living civilisation is to fulfil the basic implications of the human stage of cosmic evolution – a stage characterised by CONSCIOUS PARTICIPATION.”

Libra is the sign that reminds us that there is no “I” in team! This Moon certainly has a lot of powerful planetary energy swirling around, that’s for sure! It does seem that we are being called to redress the balance somehow, whether that be physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. Libra is a sign of extremes, so it is easy for the scales to tip too far one way or another. This Moon could help us to find the midpoint, or the middle ground. It is quite possible that we will be called to be raw, honest and open with ourselves and others, and face some uncomfortable material, but ultimately this could bring the harmony that Libra craves. Ultimately, Libra seeks peace. What do we need to do to truly find peace in our heart?

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky
Imagine all the people
Livin' for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Livin' life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

VIRGO NEW MOON / SOLAR ECLIPSE - 21 September 2025

Picture
Exact at 8.54pm UK time (BST)

This is such a powerful New Moon, as not only is it a Solar Eclipse, but it also occurs the day before the Equinox. Added to which, it involves an incredibly potent Kite formation and also a Yod, otherwise known as a Finger of God. The chart for this new Moon certainly is visually striking, let alone the energy of the planets involved! This is the second Virgo New Moon of this month, which is a rare thing and means that the Sun and Moon are literally in the very last degree of Virgo, which is such a powerful place for a New Moon/Eclipse to occur. The Pisces Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse of 6 September involved letting go, surrendering and releasing anything that no longer serves our greater good. The time in between the Eclipses has brought the potential for endings as we close one chapter of our lives, while this New Moon can help us to usher in the new energy to fill the space left behind. A new cycle is beginning.

We are in the final days of Virgo season, which will end as the Sun moves into Libra on Monday 22 September. Virgo can help us to declutter in our lives, clearing the way for the new cycle that is beginning. Virgo helps us to separate the wheat from the chaff, using the power of discernment to decide what we can keep and what needs to go. On a physical and energetic level, this is an ideal time to clear out our cupboards, both literally and metaphorically. The air literally feels clearer, and the qi can flow more easily when we organise and clean our physical space, which is also a symbolic act, as it helps us to release stagnant energy, old patterns and attachments, fostering a feeling of inner calm, peace and tranquillity. It is an act of self-care and kindness and respect towards self that helps us to feel less overwhelmed and better able to think more clearly.

Indeed, we are being called to use the Virgoan art of discernment to recognise what needs to change, untangling ourselves from any unhealthy attachments, patterns and dynamics that are restricting or binding us. Virgo can help us to see what is good for us and what is hurting us and to take the necessary steps to improve the situation. It can help us to create healthy routines that support us and make us feel better about ourselves and life in general. It can help us to become more mindful of what we are taking in and “digesting”, which is not only the food we eat, but the company we keep, the news we choose to listen to, the programmes we watch, the environments we spend our time in. Virgo knows all too well the impact that these things have on our system. This New Moon invites us to make positive choices to benefit our overall sense of well-being.

There is a powerful Kite formation during this Moon, and the focal point happens to be the Virgo Sun and Moon, which is so powerful! It involves all the main planetary players of the moment – the Saturn/Neptune conjunction is sitting directly opposite, while the Uranus/Pluto trine is forming a lovely supportive Grand Trine with the Sun and Moon. Saturn and Neptune have been helping us to get our heads out of the proverbial sand and see things as they really are, rather than dwelling in the dream, the fantasy, the illusion, the ideal, the longing, the yearning. It is a hard pill to swallow, this “reality” business, as it can literally be disillusioning, but it is so necessary to see things as they are rather than how we would like them to be. The opposition from Saturn and Neptune does bring the potential for our fears to surface, and could bring some anxiety and overwhelm, but it also helps us to create some healthy boundaries to protect us and keep us safe.

Meanwhile, Virgo can help us to make healthy choices for ourselves and clear out anything that is not contributing to our highest good. Added to which we have the Uranus/Pluto trine, which is very strong during this Moon, as it is almost exact. This has been giving us the gift of clarity and insight, helping us to see the patterns that are playing out in our lives so that we can transmute and transform them. While some of the things that are coming to light might be quite uncomfortable and hard to face, both personally and collectively, it is better to see them clearly and be honest about them, because then at least we know what we are dealing with and can work to clear them. There is something very liberating about this trine, as it can help us to free ourselves from old programming and conditioning, partly because it is somehow more visible and obvious than ever before. It is time to release ourselves from the prison, recognising the unhealthy and unhelpful patterns, attachments and dynamics that have been holding us back and keeping us small.

Venus and Mars are also very much involved in this Moon, as they are both being challenged by both Pluto and Uranus. This definitely adds to the cosmic soup! A Uranus and Venus square (exact Saturday 20th) brings the potential for shifting any unhealthy patterns in our relationships, liberating ourselves from old, unhelpful ways of relating. We could experience some shocks or surprises, although ultimately this could bring liberation. Pluto inconjunct Venus (exact Saturday 20th) can call for us to be very honest with ourselves around what isn’t working, calling for us to face some uncomfortable material. We may see things very clearly that we would rather avoid, but ultimately this insight can help us to make the necessary changes to improve our relationships and let go of any attachments that aren’t serving us anymore.

Pluto is also squaring Mars (exact Wednesday 24th), which is a powerful combination indeed. Combined with the Venus energy, it can make the need to purge, release and sever unhealthy attachments feel more intense and urgent, almost adding a cauterising energy to it. Pluto and Mars in Scorpio combined can be quite ruthless, which on the one hand could be helpful, as it could help us to be brave and could also bring up any resentment or suppressed anger that might be festering beneath the surface out into the light so that we can face it, own it and transmute it. However, this is also quite a volatile combination, so we could experience eruptions of rage, both personally and collectively.

With Uranus also forming an inconjunct to Mars (exact Wednesday 24th), sudden outbursts of anger are possible, although this could be very liberating, as it is better than seething resentment that sabotages our relationships in insidious and corrosive ways. This Uranus Pluto square is helping to bring things up and out so that we can see them clearly, and with Mars involved it might not be pretty but at least it will clear the air and help us to shift any stagnant, unhealthy, destructive energy that might be playing out beneath the surface and eroding our relationships, both personally and collectively. This is a very good opportunity to see, very clearly, how anger plays a part in our lives and how it is handled and expressed.

Those of us with personal planets and angles around 29° and 0/1° of a sign will be feeling all of this energy the most acutely. Mars is also the focal point of a Yod, or a Finger of God formation, involving Neptune and Uranus. As such, Mars is very much in the limelight right now, as the planet of drive, desire, motivation, anger and courage moves from peace-loving Libra into intense, transforming Scorpio on Monday 22nd, the day of the Equinox. Any feelings of anger and frustration could certainly become clearer and more visible, which could be shocking, but this Mars energy can also give us the courage and motivation to let go of anything that is not meant for us and to face up to anything we might have been avoiding or turning a blind eye to.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 30° Virgo, feels very resonant with so much of the planetary energy of this Moon: “Totally intent upon completing an immediate task, a man is deaf to any allurement”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The total concentration required for reaching any spiritual goal. This is the final symbol of the first half of the cycle. In the year cycle the fall equinox is now at hand; autumn begins. Through spring and summer many ways and byways have been experienced. The last message of this hemicycle of “Individualisation” is that on all decisive occasions what must be done has to be done so intently that no outer voices can penetrate the mind, still less the soul. The neophyte stands at the gates of the sacred Pyramid. There is only one step he can take – ahead, or he is lost. This is the culminating step, the decision that results from a myriad of small choices. Still a shadow of hesitation can remain. Attention may be distracted from the Now by a voice from the past, glamourising some old memory. The outer doors of perception and thought must be closed, so the soul can complete its CONQUEST OF ILLUSION.”

Wow, what a powerful and many layered symbol this is, and so appropriate for the potent energy of this Moon! This has been an incredibly powerful Eclipse season so far, with so much shedding, releasing, purging and letting go in order to make space for whatever is getting ready to come in. This Moon invites us to purify, declutter and clear the way so that we are able to allow that which is for our highest good to come in. We have a chance to draw a line in the sand and make a stand, sending a powerful message out into the universe that we are open and ready for whatever awaits us around the next bend of the river. The Pisces Full Moon helped us to let go, while this powerful New Moon can help us to rise out of the ashes, all shiny, cleansed and new, calling in that which is meant for us. A new chapter is beginning, and we must clear the channels and make ready.

VIRGO NEW MOON - 23 August 2023

8/21/2025

Picture
Exact at 7.06am UK time (BST)

This New Moon is activating all the major planetary energy that is so prevalent right now, so it could help to prod us in the right direction for our growth. This process may not be particularly comfortable, but sometimes growth involves a certain degree of discomfort as we become aware of what needs to shift and change. We are preparing for Eclipse season now, and Virgo can help us to recognise what is out of alignment and do the inner work necessary to improve things and restore balance. Virgo is the part of us that can be intensely self-critical but can also imbue us with great humility and the capacity to see what needs tweaking so that we can be the best that we can be. Sometimes some critical introspection can be very helpful and growth-inducing, as long as it doesn’t go too far!

Virgo season kicks off with this New Moon, which tends to have a back-to-school feeling to it as we are invited to consider what kind of healthy habits and routines we would like to develop moving forward, and what tendencies and patterns we would like to shift and let go of. We may find ourselves somewhat preoccupied with the parts of us that we feel are lacking or inadequate, assessing ourselves and others with a more critical lens than usual. Virgo is the part of us that has the capacity to discern and discriminate between what is good, healthy and helpful and what is no longer good for us. It separates the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. A Virgo New Moon invites us to leave old, unhelpful habits, behaviours and patterns behind in the dark of the Moon and to replace them with some practical, healthy new habits that help us to feel good about ourselves.

As I mentioned, the New Moon is tapping into the plethora of planets that are at the beginning of the sign they are in, as the Sun and Moon are in the very first degree of Virgo. In fact, the Virgo Sun and Moon are at the apex of a powerful Yod or Finger of God formation, which involves Pluto and the Saturn/Neptune conjunction all “pointing the finger” at all things Virgo. With Pluto involved we might find that we are called to look at some uncomfortable material within us that might not be serving us anymore. Pluto forces us to be brutally honest with ourselves, owning those shadow parts of ourselves that we might more readily criticise in other people. Virgo calls for humility, self-analysis and the willingness to work on ourselves, while Pluto exposes the parts of ourselves that we might usually disown, bury and relegate to the shadows.

It could be helpful to explore whether the traits, habits and behaviour of other people that irk or bother us are actually part of us too. It is so easy to project our hidden, shadow parts onto others and to judge and criticise them, but when we do so we are judging and criticising ourselves too. With the North Node currently in Pisces, we are ultimately being called to find true compassion for ourselves and others, accepting those flawed, disowned, hidden, not so pretty parts of ourselves rather than judging or shaming ourselves and others. As we recognise and send love to these imperfect aspects of ourselves, they lose their power and become healthier and more integrated.

The Saturn Neptune conjunction is now on the wane as they both head back towards Pisces, although it is still fairly strong, and is also part of the Yod, which brings it back into focus for this New Moon. They are both still in Aries, a sign that likes decisive action, so we could find ourselves contemplating what plans we might want to put into action and how to actually make them happen. We could feel torn between what we dream of and yearn for and what is realistically possible. We could struggle with procrastination, fatigue, overwhelm and/or feelings of futility, whereby it is hard to see what lies ahead. Neptune calls for us to trust that we will somehow know what to do and when to act when the time is right. Saturn calls for us to be patient and pragmatic and, combined with the Virgo Moon, discern between obstacles that can be surmounted and any fears, blocks or resistance that we are able to work on within ourselves.

If we combine Saturn and Neptune in a positive way, we can set realistic and tangible goals that can help us to realise our longings and yearnings, combined with the capacity to act upon inspiration and a sense of divine timing. However, the nagging inconjunct aspect to the Virgo Sun and Moon could create feelings of frustration, overwhelm, self-doubt, self-judgement and even self-flagellation, whereby we are a bit hard on ourselves and feel like the way is not clear and that we are somehow not capable, worthy or deserving. This combination of Saturn and Neptune is also calling for us to create stronger, healthier boundaries in order to protect ourselves and feel safe. The Virgo Moon could call for us to discern between what is good for us and what is harming or draining us, and we might have to take off the rose-tinted spectacles in order to do so. However, this could be a tough pill to swallow! Sometimes it feels easier to bury our heads in the sand and avoid the reality of the situation, but this Moon could force us to get real and see things as they really are, rather than how we would like them to be.

The resolution point of this Yod is Pisces, which is where the North Node of the Moon is at the moment. Pisces reminds us that forcing things is futile, and that it is better to let go and flow with the current rather than against it, recognising where we are blocked and where the energy is easy and flowing. It also calls for us to find acceptance, love and compassion for our human frailty and for the flawed humanity of others. The Virgo part of us can easily worry and over think about past and future, while Pisces invites us into the present moment, where there is peace. The Virgo part of us can so easily beat ourselves up and find fault in others, while Pisces recognises that we are all imperfectly perfect and doing the best we can in this crazy world we are currently living in. It is important to be self-reflective and willing to look at ourselves and do the inner work, but we can also be kind and loving around what we find.

With Pluto being in Aquarius and trine its ruler, Uranus, in Gemini, we could find that we experience some flashes of insight, sudden revelations, realisations and clarity that transform us and help to liberate us from old conditioning and patterns that maybe we couldn’t see so clearly before. All it takes is someone saying something to us that helps us to see things from a different perspective, and we can experience profound shifts, breakthroughs and greater understanding of the patterns and habits that have been running the show and holding us prisoner. Uranus can bring a revelation and new perspective that is so simple that we can’t believe we hadn’t seen it before. And this new awareness can make all the difference, enabling us to see ourselves more clearly so that we can make the changes and shift the pattern. This is where the Virgo New Moon comes in, helping us to do the inner work and self-analysis and recognise what we need to tweak in order to grow.

Uranus is also forming a dynamic square aspect to the Virgo Moon, which could mean that the realisations come thick and fast and might be quite unexpected and even shocking. However, ultimately Uranus’s task is to wake us up and liberate us from the past that binds us. Conversations with others could bring some profound “aha” moments, and we could receive insights that jolt us into change and transformation. This Virgo Moon calls for us to look at ourselves with humility and see what might be in need of improvement, and Uranus can certainly bring moments of insight and new perspective that can help us to see ourselves and our patterns more clearly. Virgo then gives us the tools to ground these insights into practical solutions and new, healthy habits.

Venus in Cancer is very present during this Moon, bringing relationships into focus, as well as our own sense of self-worth and value. Chiron the wounded Healer is forming a dynamic square aspect to Venus, which could bring up some insecurities and feelings of rejection within our relationships, whereby we could question our worth and our sense of feeling safe in the world. Venus in Cancer wants to belong and seeks comfort, closeness and a sense of home. Chiron in Aries asks us to be true to ourselves and do what is right for us, even if it means going it alone. Our close relationships, romantic and otherwise, could trigger our sore spots, core wounds and insecurities and bring up feelings of defensiveness and vulnerability, but this could bring an amazing opportunity for healing.

Chiron will square Venus on the day of the New Moon, and the energy will be building a couple of days before. Those of us with personal planets or angles within a couple of degrees of 26° of the sign they are in will feel this energy most strongly, especially in the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.

Venus will then move into warm, creative, expressive Leo on Monday 25, forming a supportive trine to Saturn and Neptune, which will help us to see our relationships in both a realistic and compassionate light. Saturn trine Venus helps us to be grounded and pragmatic around our relationships, possibly finding it easier to create healthy boundaries and draw a line in the sand around what we are willing to put up with. Neptune trine Venus helps us to drop the walls and ego and to relate to each other from a place of acceptance, unity and higher love. We may find it easier to see our loved ones and relationships as they really are, which could be helpful.

Venus will also be opposite Pluto, exact Wednesday, and sextile Uranus, exact Tuesday. This brings the potential for going deep and being brutally honest with ourselves around our self-worth and relationships, while also experiencing insight, clarity, breakthrough and a sense of liberation from old patterns and programming that might be running the show. We may be able to see our relationships and patterns of relating more clearly, which could bring freedom and transformation.

Those of us with personal planets or angles in the first couple of degrees of the sign they are in will be feeling the energy of this Moon and the Finger of God most acutely. Venus will be joining in the party for a little while on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing our relationships into focus. There certainly is an interesting mix of planetary energy at the moment!

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 1° Virgo, seems very appropriate indeed: “In a portrait, the significant features of a man’s head are artistically emphasised”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The capacity to picture to oneself clearly, the salient features and the overall meaning of any life situation. Now we have come in the seasonal cycle of the year to the sign Virgo. It is in a sense the symbol of harvesting, but it is also that of the Path of Discipleship, and of all strongly determined processes of training, or retraining. Flooded with and having enjoyed and released energy, the personalised consciousness now has to learn the lesson of significant form. It must be able to see life situations as wholes of experience, and to discover their meaning by distinguishing their most characteristic features. Implied in DISCRIMINATION is both analysis and intuition. The mind separates and identifies – and unfortunately often exaggerates – what makes a person or a situation different from another; but the intuitive responses of the whole person to what confronts him or her is also essential, for what matters is not only my or your “difference,” but the place and function this difference occupies in the organic pattern of the evolution of “humanity as a whole,” i.e. of Man.”

This Virgo Moon does seem to be calling for us to recognise how easy it is to see the flaws in others and how they are often aspects of ourselves that it might be hard to recognise or own. It can also highlight just how hard we can be on ourselves. However, none of us are perfect and it is so important to bring love, compassion and acceptance to our shadows and imperfections. We are all simply doing the best we can during some unprecedented and somewhat challenging times, as we walk the road less travelled, and so we are called to be patient and trust that the way will show itself. Forcing things is futile, so we must wait, sow the seeds, do the inner work, put one foot in front of the other, surrender and have faith that we will know what to do when the time is right.

Much Love
