AQUARIUS NEW MOON/ANNULAR ECLIPSE - 17 February 2026

Exact at 12.01pm UK time.

This marks a long awaited moment, as not only is this New Moon also a Solar Eclipse, but it also marks the end of the Year of the Wood Snake and the beginning of the Year of the Fire Horse, which is markedly different energy! Added to which, we have the Saturn/Neptune conjunction culminating, as it will be exact three days after the New Moon. There is a lot going on! A Solar Eclipse is a super charged New Moon, calling for us to release whatever no longer serves as we enter a new phase, closing one chapter and beginning a new one. It is important to be mindful of the thoughts and conversations that naturally occur during this time, as they will give us clues as to what we are bringing in and what we need to release. It might also be worth looking back to the time of the New Moon on 17 February 2007, and contemplating what was happening then, as there could be some connection between then and now. This is the next phase of growth.

Aquarius is the part of us that seeks to connect with like-minded souls and likes to feel that we are part of a tribe or community, part of something bigger than us. Collectively, we are at an important turning point, and with Pluto currently also in Aquarius we could feel the call to connect and join up with the people that feel aligned with who we truly are, at our core, and where we are going. Aquarius is the eccentric, the disruptor, the revolutionary, the humanitarian and the socially conscious part of us that has visions of a better future based on equality, freedom, brotherhood/sisterhood and progressive ideals. Aquarius is the part of us that questions authority, the power structures and any rules that are unfair, unjust or simply don’t make any sense! As such, this New Moon/Eclipse is a good time to put our ducks in a row and plant the seeds of change. It is time.

This Aquarius New Moon calls for us to let go of the layers of conditioning, shedding the parts of us that have no place in the new world that we are moving into. Who are we, at our core – the authentic truth of who we are, the unique spark that existed before all the layers of life experience and societal/parental conditioning got piled on top of it? It is time to reconnect and remember our true essence. Aquarius calls for utter authenticity, regardless of what other people might think of us. What parts of us have we abandoned in order to fit in, to find love and to be accepted? Is it possible to be fully ourselves, even if it makes others feel uncomfortable because it is not the version of us that they have got used to? And who are the people who allow us to be our true authentic self and, not only that, actively celebrate and encourage it? These are the people we need to be around.

Interestingly, Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, is also squaring the Sun and Moon, which definitely adds extra potency to a Moon that certainly has the potential to spark radical change! Uranus is known as the Great Awakener, the Harbinger of Change, as it is very good at blasting away the cobweb, breathing fresh air and moving us out of any stasis or stagnation. This Moon can certainly help us to step back and see things from a different perspective, detaching from any unhealthy attachments or patterns and gaining greater clarity about what needs to change. Uranus can bring flashes of insight, moments of profound clarity and epiphanies whereby we realise the truth of the matter and see something that cannot be “unseen” once we have seen it.

This is the kind of Moon that could bring shocks, surprises and wake up calls that come from left field and jolt us back into a greater sense of conscious awareness, aligning us with our true path, if we have strayed from it. Uranus demands freedom and seeks to reconnect us with our authentic truth. This Moon certainly does seem to be calling for us to be utterly true to ourselves, dropping the façade, the people pleasing, the false self, the one who plays by the unspoken “rules” and conditions in order to feel accepted and loved. There is something very liberating about this Moon, as we are called to free ourselves of anything that prevents us from living our truth and that might be holding us back from moving forward into this as yet unknown reality that awaits us.

The long awaited Saturn/Neptune conjunction peaks three days after this New Moon, on 20 February. These two powerful planets join forces at 0° Aries, the very first degree of the entire zodiac, which feels so very significant! It feels like something new is being born, unlike anything we have seen before, and there is no precedent, no script, no rule book for what lies ahead of us. It is very exciting, and Aries can give us the energy, courage, drive and motivation to turn our dreams, longings and yearnings (Neptune) into tangible form (Saturn). This combination does not allow for illusions, and we could be called to lay down any dreams, ideals or fantasies that have no real validity or basis in reality.

However, Saturn can help bring discipline, focus, commitment and staying power, while Neptune brings inspiration and the capacity to act on our guidance and inner knowing, instead of simply passively dreaming about it! What is waiting to be born right now, and how can we make it happen? These two planets can be a powerful combination when they work together, because Neptune brings the spiritual guidance and inspiration, and Saturn brings the commitment to follow through on the initial spark of inspiration, while Aries helps us to have courage, try new things and take action.

Neptune can also dissolve Saturnian structures, which happened when Saturn and Neptune were conjunct in Capricorn in 1989/1990, the time of the end of the Soviet Union. It will be interesting to see what dissolves now, as we have many outworn, outdated, corrupt and antiquated power structures that are simply no longer serving us. We are ready for something new, but unclear as to what form it will take. The fact that this conjunction is occurring at the first degree of Aries feels so significant, as it is raw, unfiltered, primal energy and life force, representing the initial spark that lights the fire, the ignition that starts the engine, raw, primal energy and it calls us to act rather than passively waiting for things to change. We are at a point of no return.

Those of us with personal planets and angles around 0° of a sign will feel the energy of this powerful conjunction most acutely, especially the cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. It certainly does feel like we are on the verge of something new and unlike anything we have ever seen, and what might need to fall away in order for it to take its place? The Sabian symbol for 0° Aries is “A woman just risen from the sea. A seal is embracing her”. Rudyar describes it as “Emergence of new forms and of the potentiality of consciousness”. It brings a sense of a new beginning, a clean slate, emerging from the womb and birthing something new and as yet unknown and unrealised. And how amazing that it is part of this powerful New Moon/Eclipse/Chinese New Year, which also symbolises a new chapter?!

There is another conjunction that feels very important and is exact on the day of the New Moon. Venus is sitting right next to the North Node in Pisces, bringing the potential for fated encounters, destined relationships that help bring soul growth and a sense of being guided by our hearts. Love will show us the way and will lead us to where we need to be, as long as we are able to soften, let go, surrender and flow with the natural current. The Pisces North Node reminds us to let go of striving or forcing, but to simply allow. What relationships feel spiritually aligned with where we are going and who we really are? Where, and towards whom do we seem to be naturally guided right now, with no effort on our part? Where is the flow of the river taking us?

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon, at 29° Aquarius, is such an appropriate and beautiful one: “A butterfly emerging from a chrysalis”, which Dane Rudyar describes as ”The capacity to utterly transform the character of one’s consciousness by radically altering the structural patterns of everyday living and the types of relationships one enters upon. Here what is emphasised is the process of metamorphosis itself. This symbol stresses that nothing short of a complete renewal of all the implications of being alive as a human individual will do. A radical change is needed. This change is individual and mental, and it should be seen against the background of humanity as a whole. What is revealed is the potential ability of every human being to participate in a higher realm of evolution AFTER his or her emergence from a critical state of transition. The keyword is METAMORPHOSIS.  In spiritual terms, this implies “initiation,” i.e. entering a higher realm of conscious existence and there joining a sacred Company.”

It is quite an amazing symbol, that not only speaks to the potential for radical change that the Aquarius New Moon and Uranus bring, but also feels resonant of the new beginnings and new birth potential of the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in the first degree of the zodiac. This is a moment that is utterly unique and will never come again, and if it does it will not be for thousands of years. We have been preparing for this, and are ready to emerge for the “critical state of transition”. It is time to break free from the limitations represented by the chrysalis and reveal the full radiance of all that we are!

It is so interesting that the movement of Saturn and Neptune into fiery Aries coincides with the Year of the Fire Horse, as this could be a very fast-paced year with an unstoppable momentum that calls for us to be very brave and break free from limitations, moving towards whatever makes us feel most alive and free. The Fire Horse doesn’t hesitate, it doesn’t fear change and is fiercely authentic. It calls for us to act on our impulses, take risks and act decisively. The Fire burns away anything that holds back necessary change. This year could certainly take us for a ride (pardon the pun), and is surely starting off with a bang! We have done the shedding, with a Number 9 Year, the Year of the Snake and the end of Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. We have been called, in recent times, to clear the way, to close a karmic cycle, grieve, release, let go, surrender and forgive ourselves and others. Now it is time for the next chapter. So it shall be.

Much Love

LEO FULL MOON - 1 February 2026

Picture
Exact at 10.09pm, UK time (GMT)

This Leo Full Moon is the last Full Moon of the Chinese Year of the Snake, and occurs in the midst of some powerful planetary shifts. A Leo Moon calls for us to follow what brings us joy and allow our playful inner child to take the reins. Leo is the creative part of us that has the capacity to self-actualise and fully realise the special talents and potential that are unique to us. A Leo Full Moon invites us to shine our light brightly and allow ourselves to be seen in all our fullness and glory! Are we able to bravely and confidently express all that we are, from our hearts, and not hide ourselves or make ourselves small? If we were to be really honest about what lights us up and have the courage to follow our heart, where would this lead us? If we are asked what incites our passion and brings us our greatest joy, what is the first thing that we think of?  These are all good things to consider on a Leo Full Moon!

The Sun is currently in progressive, rebellious, revolutionary, community minded, humanitarian Aquarius, along with Mercury, Venus, Mars and Pluto, so it is quite the Aquarius party right now! This brings an emphasis on how our unique gifts can contribute to the collective and help create a better world. It’s not all about us, right now – there is something much bigger to contemplate and consider. The Aquarius part of us questions the status quo and isn’t afraid to disrupt the system and go up against authority if it feels unequal, unfair or antiquated. Aquarius helps us to think outside the box, link up with like-minded souls and contemplate what kind of future we want to create. Aquarius is the part of us that has the vision of what could be, while Leo helps us to actually create it.

While Leo calls for us to follow our heart, Aquarius calls for us to find our tribe and figure out where and with whom we truly fit in and can fully thrive. Hopefully our hearts can lead us to a place of true alignment, so that we are guided to exactly where we are supposed to be. We are on the threshold of something that we have never experienced before, and are being called to throw out the rule book and open ourselves up to a new way of operating in the world. The Capricorn New Moon encouraged us to lay the foundation for what we wish to bring in, and this Full Moon can help clear the way. Aquarius stands for Freedom, Equality and Community and Leo calls for us to have the courage to express all that we truly are. Where are we being called at the moment? Where are our hearts calling us to?

Neptune and Saturn are both forming minor aspects to the Sun and Moon, which feels appropriate, as they are both a very big part of the current planetary picture. It is quite interesting, right at this moment, as Neptune, the planet of dreams, idealism, spirituality, unity and inspiration, has just entered Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, while Saturn, the planet of form, karma, structure, reality, authority and responsibility, is still in the last couple of degrees of Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac. Saturn will enter Aries in a couple of weeks. There is the sense that something new is waiting to be born, unlike anything we have seen before, but right now we are still clearing the way and laying down the bricks.

Neptune in Aries can bring inspired action, the drive and courage to act on our dreams, ideals and visions, and has the potential to bring out our compassionate, spiritual warrior, who is willing to fight for our ideals and collective peace and unity. There is a sense that things can’t continue the way they have, and now we are called to act and move, after a period of dissolution, resting, clearing, completing and waiting while Neptune was in the last degree of Pisces. Pisces is the dreamer, while Aries is the doer, the initial spark that ignites the fire, the impulse to act on our dreams and desires. While Neptune was in this last degree of Pisces there was more of a sense of passively trusting and going with the flow, while Neptune in Aries calls for us to act and move on our inner guidance. Aries is the raw life force, the ignition, the spark, the match that can start a raging fire. Neptune in Aries calls for us to fight for our ideals and to make them happen, rather than simply dreaming about them.

Saturn will enter Aries on 13/14 February, and will join Neptune on 17 February, but until then it will remain in Pisces, testing us and clearing the way so that we are truly ready for whatever lies ahead. It is important to allow anything to fall away that no longer has a place where we are going, while laying the foundation for what is waiting to be born. What karmic contracts need to be left behind, what structures need to dissolve, what patterns need to fall away so that we are ready for the next cycle? This is not a walk in the park, this final couple of weeks of Saturn in Pisces, as we may have a sobering dose of reality and it may be hard not to fall into fear, but luckily Neptune is leading the way in Aries, bringing inspiration, courage and a sense of what might be possible. Saturn is bringing closure and a concrete sense of what illusions still need to fall away, while Neptune is bringing a new impulse and a sense of anticipation about what is possible. We can’t quite see the way yet, but there is hope, yearning and expectancy.

When Saturn and Neptune join forces, at 0° Aries, the very first degree of the zodiac, we have the potential for giving our dreams and ideals form and structure and actually putting them into action. Saturn brings the commitment, accountability and potential for making our Neptunian dreams, fantasies, yearnings and longings into something real, solid and tangible. This pairing can also bring about dissolution of old, antiquated structures so that something new and unprecedented can take their place. What that looks like is not yet clear, and there is definitely a sense that there is no script for what is coming, as it is unlike anything we have experienced before. And that is the way it needs to be. The old way isn’t working. We are being asked to throw out the old rule book and start fresh, with open hearts, as we embark on the road less travelled.

The North Node is Pisces is still calling for us to go with the flow, opening up to divine guidance and keeping an eye out for signs, omens and synchronicities that can show us the way forward. It reminds us to do what we can not to fall into a state of worry or anxiety; instead we are called to accept, allow, surrender and trust that we are being guided to where we need to be even if it doesn’t yet make logical sense. The more faith and trust we can cultivate right now, the better. We are called to do what we can to strengthen our connection to Spirit and to do whatever activities or practices raise our vibration the most, such as singing, dancing, breathwork, walking in nature, meditation, yoga, tai chi, making art – whatever works best for us. And this Leo Full Moon does invite us to follow our joy and play, create and express ourselves, letting our playful inner child lead the way!

The difference now is that Neptune, the ruler of the Pisces North Node, is no longer in sensitive, flowing, dreamy, dissolving Pisces. It is now in Aries, the sign of action, energy, courage, trailblazing, impulsivity and enthusiasm, the part of us that say “Okay then, let’s do it!”. Instead of simply allowing, we are called to act on our longings and with Saturn’s help, turn them into something that can stand the test of time. Whatever is born at this time has been gestating or percolating for a while now and is the result of all that we have experienced since 2011, when Neptune went into Pisces. A new cycle is beginning and we haven’t been this way before. We are being asked to step up to the plate and take responsibility for creating this new reality. No excuses and no turning back!

Mercury, the planet of the mind, thought processes and communication, seems to have a part in this Moon, as it is sitting right next to Venus in Aquarius and is also forming a helpful, supportive sextile to Chiron the Wounded Healer. The conversations we have in the build-up to this Full Moon could be important, and we could explore some interesting, progressive and unusual topics that are future-oriented, especially when it comes to relationships, money and values. Aquarius asks that our relationships be based on shared values and the spirit of freedom, so we may be exploring exactly what that means. What the Leo Full Moon calls for us to follow our heart, Aquarius ensures that where we are going and who we are going there with are in alignment with the future that we are here to help build.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon, at 14° Leo, is a beautiful one: “A human soul seeking opportunities for outward manifestation”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The yearning of self-actualisation. Behind the many rhythms and drives of individual existence, beyond the child, the adult and the old man, stands the soul seeking always to manifest itself through the personality. This is the transpersonal urge of the spirit, expressing itself in many ways during the whole life span. But most avenues are blocked, and the soul waits until it can wait no longer. Then comes the dramatic release, which may mean a joyous carnival or madness. This symbol brings a transcendental clue to the technique of living. Let the soul speak out! Allow the power of the true tone of your being to manifest itself smoothly, easily, unobstructed – or expect a variety of consequences. LET THE SOUL MANIFEST.”

What an exciting symbol, which feels perfect for this Full Moon! It calls for us to live our true potential, that which we truly are. It is time, whether we feel ready or not. It feels like we are being prompted to line our ducks up in a row at the moment. It will all fall into place soon enough, and the spark of courage, inspiration and new energy is already there with Neptune now in Aries. Saturn is just lagging behind for a wee bit, calling us to tie up any loose ends, drop any unhelpful illusions, release the old karmic cycle and allow the foundations to naturally and effortlessly form for the new cycle and energy that is coming in. What that is it may not exactly be clear yet, but this Leo New Moon invites us to open our hearts, shine our light and pay full attention to that which ignites our passion and brings us our greatest joy. It is time to “come out” and live what we have always known is possible but just haven’t been given the opportunity before now. The time is here.

Much love

CAPRICORN NEW MOON - 18 January 2026

Exact at 7.50pm UK time (GMT)

This is an incredibly powerful and potent New Moon which brings the potential for us to lay down some strong foundations for what we wish to manifest in the next chapter that awaits us. It is as if we are standing at the threshold of something new and as yet unknown to us, and this Moon encourages us to leave behind us all that we are finished with so that we can move forward clear and unfettered. A lot of the planets involved in this lunation are at the very end of their sign, including the Sun and Moon, so this is a time of completion, closure, culmination and preparation, whereby we are called to release and clear any thoughts, beliefs, karmic contracts, ways of relating, situations or patterns that have no place in where we are going. We are standing in a doorway, ready to step through into who knows what, so we must decide what to take with us and what needs to stay behind.

This Capricorn New Moon can help us to lay down some very solid, mature, intentional, well-considered foundations for what we wish to build for ourselves moving forward. We are being given the opportunity to lay the groundwork for a future that is as yet unknown and unlike anything we have seen before. Capricorn encourages us to decide what is important to us and to make a commitment to see it through. Interestingly, Neptune is involved in this Moon, calling for us to go with the flow and be open to the signs and synchronicities that will show us the way forward, loosening any need to control outcomes. As such, the final destination remains fluid, rather than rigid, concrete or set in stone. This Capricorn New Moon simply asks for us to say a solemn “yes”, making a  heartfelt vow to allow our heart’s true desire to slowly take form, while letting go of anything that might stand in its way.

This Capricorn Moon encourages building something over time, in a slow, patient, intentional, mature manner, rather than an impulsive leap. Capricorn calls for responsibility, accountability and commitment to something real, lasting and solid that can withstand the test of time. Capricorn is in it for the long haul, and likes to build strong foundations, brick by brick. Our inner Capricorn is always willing to work on things, even if it is hard. Capricorn season has been helping us to mature, to get real, make commitments and truly take responsibility for ourselves, our actions and reactions. It has helped us to create healthy boundaries that protect us and keep us safe. Drawing a line in the sand can be very helpful and kind for everyone involved, as they then know exactly where they stand, as there is no ambiguity or blurred lines.

We are preparing for some big planetary shifts in the coming month, with Neptune and Saturn moving from the last sign of the zodiac into the first sign, not to mention the Year of the Fire Horse beginning on 17 February! There is a sense that things are going to shift and change, and so this Moon asks us to clear anything that might still stand in the way of what we want to bring in. This is the end of a karmic cycle, and this Moon calls for us to release the old, outworn programming, so that we are able to operate on a different level. It is hard to know what lies around the next bend in the river, but our thoughts create reality, so it is important to imagine the best outcomes and conjure the life we would most like to live, both personally and collectively. What intentions do we want to put in each brick that we lay down?

Uranus in Taurus is forming a supportive harmonious trine aspect to the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars, which could bring insight, clarity and a different perspective to help shift us out of stasis and enable us to break through to the other side. Uranus can help us to see so clearly where we might be stuck or resistant to change, and once we see something that clearly it is hard to unsee it. We may gain more insight into our patterns, thought processes, programming and attitudes, which can create a shift that could be quite profound. Uranus is the planet of freedom that liberates us from the known, and so there is a sense that whatever structures we build and whatever foundations we lay down during this time could ultimately bring a sense of liberation and the freedom to be who we really, truly are, at our core.

Saturn, the ruler of this Moon, is also forming a harmonious, supportive sextile aspect to the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars. Saturn in Pisces can help bring form and structure to any long held dreams or longings. It can literally help us to dream up our new, ideal, longed for reality. Saturn also rules endings, limitations and karmic cycles, and with Saturn coming to the end of Pisces we could experience the closure of a karmic cycle, a sense of completion and culmination and the sense of getting ready to move into the next phase. We may need to put some boundaries in place in order to move forward, as Saturn asks us to choose what we are bringing with us and what must be left behind. There is a sense the most of the work is done now, and that we are in the waiting room, waiting for the door to open so we can then see what comes next.

Saturn moves into Aries on 14 February and joins forces with Neptune on 17 February, which is also the Aquarius New Moon/Eclipse, and the beginning of the year of the Fire Horse, bringing new energy and new life. The Sabian Symbol for 0° Aries, where these two powerful planets meet, is “A woman just risen from the sea. A seal is embracing her”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “Emergence of new forms and of the potentiality of consciousness.” So interesting also that Saturn can give form and structure to our Neptunian dreams, yearnings and longings. Indeed, Neptune represents consciousness and Saturn represents form.

Neptune is currently still at 29° Pisces, which is the very last degree of the entire zodiac, preparing to make the shift into Aries on 27 January. It is also forming a sextile to the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars. There is a higher intelligence at work here, and we are called to trust in it and allow anything that needs to fall away to do so, with grace, compassion, forgiveness and acceptance. We are at the end of a cycle that began in April 2011, when Neptune first went into Pisces.

Neptune’s involvement brings a sense of quiet inner knowing that somehow we are laying the foundation for something both beautiful and aligned. It is important to pay attention to our dreams and to be open to the signs and synchronicities that show us that we are heading in the right direction. Whatever is meant for us should feel effortless, with no need to force anything. A chapter is ending and we are called to close the door, very gently, with love, and not look back. We have learned all that we can now, and we are preparing to step into a new way of being that is the culmination of all the wisdom we have accrued over the past few years. We have an opportunity, right now, to carry forward the wisdom from the lessons learned and to release the pain attached to them, so that we can step onto a path that feels absolutely right, as if it is the reward for all that we have been through. This is an important moment, when something is dissolving before we can experience the new dawn.

Pluto and Venus are also joining together in Aquarius, exact on 19/20 January. This conjunction adds significantly to the energy of this New Moon, as it brings the potential for transforming the way we operate in relationships, releasing our more conditioned way of being in relationship and opening up to a new way of relating that is freer, lighter, and more aligned with our truth. This combination brings the potential for sowing the seeds for a radically honest, open, authentic way of relating that is very different, new, refreshing and aligned. It is time to throw the rule book out and venture on a new journey of discovery!

This New Moon brings the potential for soul connections that offer growth and freedom, and feel like they are the way forward into this new reality that is forming. The Capricorn energy can help us to create better boundaries and lay the groundwork so that we can build something that has integrity, maturity, mutual accountability and the potential to be long lasting, and this includes our relationships. With Pluto and Venus in Aquarius, we have the potential for a rebirth in the realm of our values, self-worth and relationships, whereby we have a chance to release ourselves from the old, outworn, programmed way of relating that hasn’t worked for us so far. It’s time to try something new on for size!

Mars and Mercury and also joining forces in Capricorn, and are only two degrees away from this New Moon. This combination can bring the courage to have some honest, direct, open, mature, frank, realistic, brave, bare-bones conversations that we might have been putting off because they are too hard. There is no sugar coating with Mars and Mercury in Capricorn, so we could be called to be very real! Indeed, this is a very decisive combination that could involve us facing reality and setting some strong intentions that we are prepared to take full responsibility for. We may be called to state our bottom line, drawing a line in the sand and setting some clear intentions and  boundaries. We are called to be very honest with ourselves and others and could make a decision or inner commitment that somehow shapes our destiny.

What a powerful combo to have on a New Moon, as it combines our will with our thoughts and can be strongly intentional. Those of us with personal planets or angles between 26° and 29° of a sign, especially the cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, will be feeling the energy of Mars, Mercury, the Sun, Moon and all of these other planets close to the end of the sign that they are in. What a powerful Moon this is!

The Sabian symbol, at 29° Capricorn, definitely gives a nod to the Neptune energy in the Moon: “A woman reading tea leaves”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The ability to see the signature of hidden meaning in every occurrence drawing one’s attention. Man has always sought to interpret the meaning of events or situations which baffle him in terms of specific omens or “Signatures.” The reading of tea leaves is only a commonplace modern version of a certain type of procedure used by priests of all ancient religions. The practice is based on a realisation of “the relation of everything to everything else” – a definition of astrology given by Marc Jones. Dream interpretation in depth psychology belongs to the same category, as it is based upon the establishment of a close connection between the unconscious and the conscious. But in dream analysis the individual unconsciousness, at least at first, is mainly referred to, while in omens (or modern fortune telling at its best) one relies upon the power of occult forces or entities to convey the information that will clarify confusing situations. What is implied here is the ability not only to perceive the facts of everyday existence, but to see through these facts and discover how they are related to the realm of basic meanings or archetypal processes. This is essentially what is meant by true CLAIRVOYANCE, the capacity to see in everything the Signature of deeper realities.”

What potential this Moon holds! It certainly doesn’t feel like we are supposed to force anything, rather we are called to follow the calling of our hearts and recognise and commit to what is unfolding naturally. There is a sense that the lessons have been learned and the time is ripe to move on, consciously. This Moon seems to bring a powerful message to release anything that is not ours to carry forward. It is a time to forgive, let go, make peace with the past and to make a clear decision about the kind of reality we want to create. We are ready, and it is time to welcome the new energy coming in, whatever it may look like, making conscious choices about what comes with us and what we leave behind. What kind of reality do we want to create? Now is the time to lay down the foundations for this next cycle with intention, love, trust and accountability. Soon the doors will open, but first we must do that last little bit of work to clear the way.

Much Love

CANCER FULL MOON - 13 January 2025

Exact at 10.36pm UK time (GMT)

This Moon is a powerful one, that is for sure! There is a lot of strong planetary energy swirling around, as the majority of the planets are forming an aspect to the Sun and Moon in one way or another. The Moon is very much at home in Cancer, as she is the planetary ruler of this sensitive, emotionally intelligent, nurturing sign. However, we do also have Mars, the warrior planet, sitting right next to the Moon, so this could heat things up a bit and could bring out our more reactive, defensive, protective side! We could find ourselves more easily angered, and the more insecure, needy, vulnerable childish part of us could easily come to the fore.

This is where the Capricorn Sun comes in. Sitting directly opposite the Cancer Moon, it provides some balance, helping us to take responsibility for ourselves and our reactions, parenting our inner child and gaining control over our emotions. Of course, Capricorn energy can go too far if we end up controlling our emotions so much that we suppress or hide them, whereas Cancer teaches us that allowing ourselves to be vulnerable and express our needs and emotions can be helpful sometimes because at least the other person knows what is going on and can help us. It’s a fine line, and in an ideal world we would have a nice balance between the two signs, expressing our needs and feelings in an emotionally mature manner, whereby we are taking full responsibility for ourselves while also feeling the feelings and allowing others in.

We not only have Mars next to the Moon, but we also have Chiron in Aries squaring the Sun and Moon, which could add to any emotional reactivity! The square between the Sun and Chiron was exact on Thursday 9 January, and Chiron will square the Moon a few hours before the Moon is full. This could be a deeply healing time, from Tuesday 7 Jan onwards, although it could also be a bit painful as our core wounds could be activated, especially for those of us who have personal planets or angles around 19° of a sign. Chiron in Aries can help us to get things out into the open to be fully aired, including old grievances, past hurts, our insecurities and any resentments that we might be carrying. Ultimately this can be very helpful and healing, although the process could bring up anger, defensiveness, hurt, shame, regret and remorse. However, we have a wonderful opportunity to clear the past and move on.

Luckily, help is at hand to help us to release, forgive and let go so that we can move on with lighter hearts. Firstly, Neptune is also forming a harmonious aspect to Mars, helping us to intuitively know when to act, and potentially dissolving any anger and resentment that simply no longer serves us. A big shift also happens this week that will affect us collectively and personally, as the Nodes of the Moon shift signs on Saturday 11 January, from Libra and Aries into Virgo and Pisces, which is the spiritual and healing axis. The South Node will be in Virgo and the North Node in Pisces for the next 18 months, calling for us to let go of any Virgo South Node tendencies to be hard on ourselves and others, or to over-analyse and worry, or to constantly feel like we need to be “doing”, or the need to be perfect, in control and completely on top of things.

The Pisces North Node is calling for us to drop any criticism of ourselves and others in favour of compassion, love and forgiveness for our flaws and imperfections. Pisces reminds us that we are all simply human beings doing the best that we can with the tools we have been given. Sometimes we mess up and sometimes things get messy, and nobody is perfect! In fact, there is beauty in our imperfection. This next 18 months encourages us to let go, surrender control and truly embrace the flow of life, coming from a place of faith and trust that we are being guided in the right direction, and that all is as it is meant to be. Pisces reminds us to simply “be”, rather than “doing” so much, and invites us to nurture our connection to Spirit through meditation, prayer, creativity, dancing, singing and spending time in nature.

Pisces can help us to let go of past hurts and move on in the spirit of true acceptance of what is. It is so beautiful that Neptune, ruler of this Pisces North Node, is supporting this Moon, adding more connectivity, sensitivity and compassion to the cosmic soup! This can help us to remember that we are all connected, as ultimately we all come from the same melting pot and are simply souls doing the best we can with the tools we have been given. It can help us to let go of any resentments, criticism, judgement or shame and to see ourselves and each other through the lens of empathy, acceptance, forgiveness and compassion.

The Cancer part of us can tend to cling to the past, and can easily put the blame outside of ourselves, while Neptune and Pisces can help us to forgive and let go, so that we can find peace in our hearts. We can either wallow in self-pity and victimhood or make the choice to see how all that has happened in our lives, the good, the bad and the ugly, has led to where we are now. We are encouraged to trust in the divine plan, and to accept that all is perfect just as it is, for then we can feel peace. Those of us with personal planets and angles around 27° of a sign will feel the ego-dissolving, unifying energy of Neptune most acutely, while those around 29° could feel the impact of the North Node moving into spiritual Pisces. The Neptune/Moon trine will be exact a few hours after the Moon is full, while the Sun/Neptune sextile will be exact on 17th January.

There is so much going on during this Moon that I could probably write for days! Uranus is also supporting the Sun and Moon, helping bring clarity, insight and potential for somehow “waking up” to something that we hitherto couldn’t see or understand. Uranus always brings the potential for a change of perspective, and for shifts, changes and breakthroughs. Those of us with planets and angles around 23° of a sign will be feeling the erratic, shifting, awakening energy of Uranus the most acutely, especially the fixed signs. Uranus encourages us to be true to ourselves, even if it challenges the status quo.

Venus and Saturn are joining forces in Pisces during this Moon, exact on 19 January, and the energy is building during this Moon. With Venus in sensitive, dreamy, idealistic Pisces, this brings greater empathy, romance, compassion, heartfelt connection, acceptance and the potential for unconditional love to our relationships. However, it can also mean that we have the rose-tinted spectacles on and might project our own ideals and fantasies onto the other person rather than relating to them and their flawed humanity.

This is where Saturn comes in, bringing us down to earth and giving a healthy dose of reality! Saturn can also help us to create better boundaries, which is not exactly Pisces’ strong point. Saturn and Venus can help us to look at the long game when it comes to our relationships and to do whatever work is needed to solidify and cement them so that they have a greater chance of longevity. Saturn is the planet of commitment that helps us to lay down the foundations, brick by brick, slowly, surely, steadily. However, there is also the potential for us having to confront some difficult material, as Saturn doesn’t shy away from looking at what isn’t working. If we are willing to do the work, however, it could help make our relationships stronger and more “real”.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 25° Cancer, is a powerful one, which makes sense as the North Node has moved into Pisces: “A will-full man is overshadowed by a descent of superior power”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The response of spiritual forces to the integration of personality through positive, will-full endeavours. We are dealing here with a man who uses his will and positive imagination in facing his life problems. To him comes a Pentecostal descent of power. He receives the “mantle of power,” the grace (Baraka in Sufi philosophy) or the Providential assistance which can make him a true leader in his culture. In this symbol we witness a more transcendent expression of “success.” It is not merely external success (as is given by society to its prima donnas), but a spiritual response, a sign of inner strength and uncommon ENDOWMENT.”

May we all experience that moment of grace! Although there is some Mars energy around during this Moon, which could mean that we are a bit more sensitive and easily triggered, it does feel like the gentle, sensitive, flowing Pisces energy is very prevalent during this Moon. Combined with the energy of this Cancer Moon, the Pisces North Node is here to help us to find compassion and forgiveness for ourselves and others, and to truly accept that all that has happened over the course of our lifetime has led us to where we are now. We can’t change what has been, and if we have any regrets then we can simply vow to do better next time. There is no point beating ourselves up over it.

Cancer is the part of us that can tend to look back into the past and sometimes wishes that things could have turned out another way. It is our emotional intelligence and capacity to nurture and is also the vulnerable little child in us that sometimes feels insecure and needy. Capricorn helps us to be our own loving parent and caretaker, reminding us that ultimately we are only responsible for our own actions and reactions, and to act from a place of maturity and integrity. The Pisces energy helps us to let go of any judgement, blame, shame, guilt and resentment and to trust the flow of life, finding graceful acceptance of all that is.

Much Love

VIRGO NEW MOON - 3 September 2024

Exact at 2.55am UK time (BST)

Virgo season always has a “back to school” kind of vibe, and the Virgo New Moon is a great time to contemplate what healthy routines we might want to put into place as we move forward. There is a lot of helpful planetary energy around at the moment bringing the potential for change, insight, transformation and clarity, and this Moon can certainly help us to make any tweaks and adjustments necessary to help us on our way. Virgo is the part of us that always feels like we can somehow do better, to the point that we can sometimes be quite hard on ourselves. However, while this Moon is an invitation to recognise what needs improving and changing, it is very important not to be too self-critical or perfectionistic in the process. We are all simply a work in progress, doing the best we can with the tools we have been given!

Saturn is also in on the act during this New Moon, helping to add some discipline to the picture. This is an ideal time to think about our habits and to make changes wherever needed. Virgo season is an opportunity to consider putting into place new habits, routines and ways of eating that can help us to feel better and to function more efficiently. While Leo season brought a fair degree of fun, romantic, expressive, playful energy, Virgo season comes along and can help us to actually take pleasure in putting our lives into some kind of order and taking care of our health! Saturn’s influence can help us to take control of our lives and bodies, as long as we are not too rigid about it all, or too judgemental of ourselves.

Neptune is a big player in the Moon, however, forming aspects to Mars, Uranus and Pluto. Indeed, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all playing nicely with each other right now, bringing the potential for spiritual insight, clarity, awakening, transformation, opening, flow and the ability to shift out of stagnation and to open up to new opportunities and potential. Those of us with personal planets or angles between 27° and 29° of a sign will feel this opening, accepting, transforming energy of these three planets the most acutely. The Moon does feel like an opportunity to shift out of stagnation.

Neptune is forming a dynamic, challenging square to Mars that is exact at the time of this New Moon. On the one hand this could mean that our motivation and drive are somewhat lower than usual, while on the other hand we may be encouraged to simply relax, trust, allow and receive, rather than pushing or striving too hard to make things happen. Some might call this procrastination, while others would say that we are simply waiting for the right moment, when inspiration hits and the energy is flowing freely and easily.

Mercury, the rule of this Moon, is now direct after being retrograde from 4 August until 28 August. It is also forming a challenging square aspect to Uranus and a supportive flowing trine aspect to Chiron the Wounded Healer. Chiron and Mercury, exact on 2 September, can bring honest, healing conversations, whereby we are better able to understand and talk about our core wounds and how they are playing out in our lives. Those of us with personal planets or angles around 22° of a sign will feel the energy of Chiron the most strongly.

The Mercury and Uranus square, building to exact on 7 September, can help us to think outside of the box, opening up to other ways of looking at whatever we are dealing with right now. Uranus is a particularly strong energy during this Moon, as it literally turns retrograde on 2 September, the day before the Moon. We could receive shocking news, or we could experience some kind of wake-up call, or sudden insights, realisations and moments of clarity that jolt us into a greater state of awareness and understanding. It is important to be open to changing our mind, perspective and opinions. Those of us with personal planets or angles at 27° of a sign, especially the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, will feel the energy of Uranus and this square most acutely.

Venus is sitting right next to the South Node during this Moon, exact at 6° Libra. This feels important and fateful for our relationships, as we are called to release any old patterns of relating that no longer serving us. There is the potential for actual relationships ending during this time, as we feel a greater need to take care of our own needs and let go of any people pleasing or codependent tendencies. Libra seeks balance, harmony, peace and fairness, and if these are being compromised in some way then we may be called to do something about it. This certainly does feel like an important moment for relationships, especially for those of us with personal planets or angles around 6° of a sign, the cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn being most strongly affected.

Pluto moves from Aquarius back into Capricorn for one final time on 2 September, where it will remain until 19 November, when it moves into Aquarius for 19 years, until 2043. Pluto was in Capricorn from 2008 until 2024 and has been slowly but surely exposing the rot in the patriarchal structures such as corporations, big business and governments, revealing what is corrupt, outworn, decaying and no longer appropriate in the system that governs us. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of months, as Pluto has its last foray into all things Capricorn! The old order is crumbling, there is no doubt about it, as Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth, does its last bit of slow, deep, profound and thorough transformation in the sign that represents patriarchal values, governments and societal and personal foundations and conditioning.

What needs to fall away in the next couple of months in order to make way for the new energy coming in? What rules have we been living by that simply aren’t appropriate anymore? Both personally and collectively, it will be interesting to see what changes and transforms in the area of life where Pluto is currently sitting in our charts. Those of us with personal planets or angles around 29° and 0° of a sign will probably feel that sense of something being stripped away in order to make way for something more aligned with our soul to take its place. It could almost feel like a part of us is passing away for us to be somehow reborn. Capricorn represents the structures of our lives and the “programming” we have received since birth, and so Pluto could have just a little more work to do in dismantling any structures or conditioning that are no longer viable or healthy for us. Let’s see what happens, personally and collectively in the next couple of months.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon, at 12° Virgo, is very interesting, especially considering Pluto, “exposing” presence as it moves back into Capricorn “After the wedding, the groom snatches the veil away from his bride”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The penetrating and unveiling power of the trained mind. We have here a scene stressing a physical action with psychological and/or spiritual overtones. In ancient cosmologies the male god often appears in three roles as son, husband and father of the woman element of nature. Nature is fulfilled by the human mind, and will that overcome her; she resists only better to be subdued by the power that transcends her, and by transcending her gives her a spiritual meaning. The element of “training” in the symbolic scene comes from the fact that there has been a marriage ritual; thus the sociocultural factor is in the background. The teacher-guru is here the priest who has performed the ritual. At this stage the rules are reversed, the masculine element assuming the dynamic positive part in the great play of polarity. The masculine act balances the feminine dream visualisation. The Keyword is UNVEILING.  There can also be an unveiling of mysteries, long protected by secrecy.”

This Moon certainly does hold the potential for revelations, realisations and discoveries that can bring greater clarity, insight and understanding into our lives. With both Pluto and Uranus so present and strong, there is a sense that we are not allowed to hide behind pretences, so we must show our true, authentic self rather than keeping it hidden behind a veil of illusion. Snatching the veil away could simply mean that we are called to drop the façade in terms of the way we relate to one another, releasing any barriers and dropping any walls that prevent true intimacy, transparency and deep, honest relating. This can also relate to the power structures, of course, as secrets could be revealed. There is a certain quality of cleansing and purity to Virgo, the sign of self-improvement, and so this Moon seems to be inviting us to step up as the best version of ourselves that we can be.

Much Love

PLUTO AND SUN MOVE FROM CAPRICORN INTO AQUARIUS - 20/21 Jan 2024

Picture
PLUTO AND SUN MOVE FROM CAPRICORN INTO AQUARIUS

Powerful Pluto, the planet of transformation, power/powerlessness, death/rebirth, the subconscious and the soul, is teaming up with the Sun in Capricorn at the moment, as they both prepare to move into Aquarius in the next couple of days.

This has the potential to make everything very “real” and a bit heavy, as we are forced to confront material that we may prefer to deny or avoid! Pluto forces us to strip away self-deceit and to be very honest with ourselves, penetrating to the heart of the matter, even if it is very uncomfortable. We may be forced to take our power back and to recognise how we give it away. This combo certainly can bring a very uncomfortable reality check, but it is important to sit with whatever comes up, because this is where the buried treasure lies! We could find the truth of the matter glaring at us, whether we like it or not! We could also be facing issues around loss and mortality.

There could be a significant shift of energy, however, as both the Sun and Pluto move into Aquarius this weekend. Aquarius represents freedom, brotherhood/sisterhood, progression, humanitarianism, liberation from our conditioning, revolution and the power of friendship and community. It is a much lighter energy, so hopefully we will feel a bit of a lift and a feeling of liberation in the coming week!

The Sun moves into Aquarius at 2.30pm on Saturday (UK time) and Pluto moves in at 9.30am on Sunday (UK time). Those of us with personal planets and angles around 29° and 0/1° of a sign will be feeling the energy of Pluto the most acutely, especially around 29° of the Cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, and 0/1° of the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. However, we will probably all be feeling this one, on one level or another!

CANCER NEW MOON - 17 July 2023

7/17/2023

Picture
Exact at 7.31pm UK time (BST)

This is an incredibly potent New Moon at a very important time in our evolution, both personally and collectively. New Moons are powerfully energetic times of the month, as they are a chance to shed the old and birth the new. This Moon is especially so because the Sun and Moon are tapping into the energy of Pluto squaring the Nodes, which is coming to a peak now. I cannot emphasise enough the importance of this time, as it gives us an opportunity to take a step forward in our soul growth if we are willing to delve into some uncomfortable areas within our psyche and have a good look at what we find there. It’s not fun, looking at old, buried material, but we can gain so much at this time from owning our gnarly bits instead of projecting them out onto others and putting the blame outside of ourselves.

This Moon can help us in this process, especially as the Sun and Moon are in the emotional, sensitive and nurturing sign of Cancer. This is a sign that can really help us to get in touch with our emotions and recognise how they play out in our lives. Indeed, during Cancer season, which started on the Solstice, we are encouraged to connect to our feelings and allow our emotions to be our guidance system. This is a very good time indeed to listen to and tend to our inner child and to recognise what that part of us needs for us to function in a healthy and balanced way within our adult relationships. We all have the little child within us that rears up occasionally, often as an emotional overreaction when something or someone triggers old wounds and sensitivities. We are all human and we all have our sensitive areas!

With Pluto and the Nodes currently helping to bring the darkness out into the light, exposing our shadows, this could certainly be a time when our sore spots are triggered, and the hurt inner child gets activated. However, it is important to recognise the gift that we are being given when this happens, because it does bring such an opportunity to see ourselves more clearly, to nurture the child within and to hopefully lay some demons to rest. If we are willing to let our emotions show us the way and really listen to them and do the inner work, we have a profound opportunity for amazing shifts and tremendous growth.

This is the very last moment of the Nodes being in Taurus and Scorpio, which is poignant for this Moon, as the Taurus North Node has been urging us towards a greater sense of peace and simplicity, letting go of the emotional intensity and drama of the Scorpio South Node. The Nodes switch signs at 9pm UK time, not long after the Moon is exact. Once the Nodes move into Aries and Libra the energy of Pluto squaring the Nodes could increase in intensity because they will all be in cardinal signs, as will the Sun and Moon. Indeed, we will have a Grand Cardinal Cross that has the potential to bring quite an energetic shift on a personal and collective level. This Moon certainly packs a punch, that’s for sure!

Between 17 July and 23 July, the energy of Pluto square the Nodes will be at its strongest, which could bring the darkness out into the light, both personally and collectively. It will be interesting to see what is revealed or exposed during this time within the power structures and systems that govern us, not to mention the financial system. With Pluto back in Capricorn we have the potential for the death of the old order to continue, as the antiquated patriarchal system continues to crumble away, making way for a new world. However, sometimes we must peer into the darkness in order to find the light. And the brighter we shine our light, the larger the shadows can appear! It is important to remember that it is always darkest just before dawn.

On a personal level, this is a profound moment for us, especially those of us with personal planets or angles around 29° Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn and 0° of the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. We could be well and truly pushed out of our comfort zone and forced to confront the deepest, darkest, most compulsive parts of our psyche. A Cancer Moon calls for us to really feel the feelings, no matter how uncomfortable we may feel! This could be a time of considerable psychological insight, when we are better able to access and understand those ingrained patterns, compulsions, resistance and emotions that sometimes come rising up from the depths of our subconscious and take over.

This is the time to make the unconscious conscious and to take a proper look at the not so pretty parts of us, as uncomfortable as it may feel. It is so easy to project our shadows outward and to blame others. It is much harder, but also much more rewarding, to take a long, hard look in the ugly mirror and take responsibility for whatever we find there. We have an opportunity for an almighty purge right now, and for us to take a leap forward in soul growth. The choice is ours. We can leave the gnarly stuff under the carpet or we can bring it out into the light of day so that it can lose its power. We may have to be brave, but it is worth it. We have the chance to bring some dark, dense material into the light and transmute it.

We do have support from Uranus and Neptune, which is a blessing indeed. Uranus brings the potential for shifting out of stagnant patterns and can help us to wake up and see ourselves from a higher, more detached perspective.  It can help jolt us into a greater awareness and to free ourselves from old, heavy conditioning.  Neptune helps to dissolve our ego and bring a greater sense of acceptance, so that we feel less fear and can surrender to flow instead of resisting it. It can also help us to find compassion for ourselves and others, as well as the faith and trust that we are being guided and protected through whatever process we are going through.

Pluto and Neptune are forming a Yod, or Finger of God formation with Venus in Leo, with the finger pointing towards Venus! The focus is on our relationships, our values, our feelings of self-worth, or lack of it, our finances and the economy in general. We may have to face some uncomfortable material around our relationships, as we are forced to dig deep and be very honest about ourselves, our loved ones and the relationships themselves. It is quite possible that some uncomfortable truths could be revealed, but this could bring a greater level of intimacy and trust within our relationships and more transparency within the economy. However, with Neptune involved things could get confusing, but we are called to find a greater level of acceptance and connection within our relationships.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 25° Cancer, is interesting, in the light of Pluto square the Nodes: “A will-full man is overshadowed by a descent of superior power”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The response of spiritual forces to the integration of personality through positive, will-full endeavours. We are dealing here with a man who uses his will and positive imagination in facing his life problems. To him comes a Pentecostal descent of power. He receives the “mantle of power,” the grace (Baraka in Sufi philosophy) or the Providential assistance which can make him a true leader in his culture. In this symbol we see a transcendent expression of “success.” It is not merely external success (as is given by society to its prima donnas), but a spiritual response, a sign of inner strength and uncommon ENDOWMENT.”

This certainly is one powerful Moon, with the potential to help us shift and grow considerably on a soul level. We could have been given opportunities in recent times to recognise how our inner child operates within our lives and to do some inner work that brings tremendous insight and soul growth. It is time to face the shadows, both personally and collectively! A Cancer New Moon truly is a gift because it allows us to get in touch with our emotions and can also help us to release and express them, which can be such a relief! Another theme of Cancer is belonging. Where and with whom do we feel most at home? Who is in our tribe? Who is our family? Where do we belong? This Moon can hopefully help us to answer these questions. We are not alone.

Much Love

VIRGO FULL MOON / SATURN ENTERS PISCES - 7 March 2023

3/2/2023

Picture
Exact at 12.40pm UK time (GMT)

This certainly is a noteworthy Full Moon, not least because Saturn moves from Aquarius into Pisces less than an hour after the Moon reaches its peak. When a heavyweight planet such as Saturn moves signs it can bring about a shift of energy as the focus moves from one sign to another. Full Moons are also highly energetic by nature, as things tend to come to a head as the Moon reaches its fullest expression, bringing the unconscious out into the light of the conscious. There is a great deal of healing energy around during this Moon, as Virgo and Pisces represent the healing axis, not to mention that expansive Jupiter and Chiron the Wounded Healer are moving towards each other to form an exact conjunction that will peak on 12 March. This could be a very beneficial time to be doing some healing work!

We are right in the middle of Pisces season, with the Sun moving through this sensitive, dreamy, fluid, imaginative, receptive, compassionate and empathetic sign. This is a good time for turning inward and spending time in quiet contemplation, communing with nature, meditating and finding a way to connect with the divine. We could feel more sensitive and porous than usual, as we soak up other people’s energy like sponges. As such, time spent alone to regroup and recentre is essential.

And then we have this Virgo Moon, sitting directly opposite the Sun, calling for us to find some balance between the energy of Pisces and Virgo. Virgo is the part of us that seeks to be of service and loves to help others. We might tend to be too hard on ourselves at times, however, criticising ourselves and others and seeking impossible perfection, which is where Pisces comes in, to remind us that we are perfect in our imperfection and to accept ourselves and others as we are. However, the Pisces part of us can easily put the rose-tinted spectacles on and only see what we want to see, blinding us to some pretty big flaws! Virgo, on the other hand, offers us the gift of discernment and discrimination, helping us to separate the wheat from the chaff. Both signs naturally want to help others, and so this Moon could bring to the fore the themes of devotion, service, empathy, healing and helping.

It is interesting, contemplating the interplay between these two signs and how they spark off each other. Virgo is the sign of work, health and daily routines – the part of us that seeks to improve ourselves and “do better”. It is often when we are presented with a crisis, health or otherwise, that we are forced to confront ourselves and do the necessary inner and outer work to improve our situation. Sometimes a crisis literally has the capacity to bring us to our knees, so that we reach out to the divine in desperation to ask for help, guidance and some kind of sign that we are not alone. This is Pisces domain – connection to all that is, unity, faith, spirit and oneness. Virgo crises can offer us an amazing spiritual gift, a gateway, if we are open to it. At the very least, they can force us to turn inward and spend more time alone, helping to connect to our inner Pisces.

A Virgo Moon can bring about inner analysis that can help us to recognise where and how we might be out of balance physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is a good opportunity for some beautiful healing to occur. This Moon is also helped by a supportive trine from Uranus, the Great Awakener and harbinger of change. Uranus can help jolt us into a greater awareness of what needs to change, bringing profound insights that can really help us to shift out of unhealthy mindsets, beliefs, habits and routines. Uranus has the potential to liberate us from any conditioning and programming that simply no longer serves us. As such, this Moon could really help us to make some positive changes that put us onto a healthier trajectory.

Jupiter is also moving towards Chiron the Wounded Healer in Aries, as I mentioned before. This feels like a very beneficial time for recognising and looking at our core wounds, as Jupiter enables us to see the bigger picture and to grow significantly, as long as we are willing to do the inner work. We may find that we receive some higher wisdom and guidance that helps us to confront the painful bits that we might usually prefer not to look at. Someone or something could help us to gain a broader perspective on old issues that have followed us through our life, connecting the dots in a way that might not have been possible before now. Jupiter can also expand or magnify our wounded nature, making them seem bigger somehow, although this can of course be beneficial. Sometimes our sore spots need to be triggered for true understanding and healing to occur.

Anyone with personal planets or angles close to 14° of a sign will feel the energy of this conjunction most acutely, especially the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Chiron doesn’t only represent our wounds – it also represents our highest potential, linking our earthly self with our higher self. This conjunction brings the potential for significant healing and spiritual growth to occur, as we are given the gift of understanding, as if something that has hitherto been missing somehow clicks into place and we are given a glimpse of our place in the grand scheme of things.

Meanwhile, Saturn, the lord of Karma, moves into Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, where he will remain until 2026. Saturn teaches us that we reap what we sow, and so this could be a very karmic time; a time of reckoning, whereby we atone for any past discrepancies and mistakes, tying up any loose ends and facing any skeletons in the closet so that we can start fresh and do things the right way. It is very interesting that Saturn moves into Pisces on the day of the Virgo Full Moon, a sign known for cleansing and purifying! We could be called to become more accountable, while Saturn moves through the final sign, taking our spiritual path more seriously and becoming more disciplined around our spiritual practice, helping us to live up to our true potential. On the other hand, Saturn can block, control and restrict the Pisces flow, which could feel quite repressive.

Pisces is the part of us that dreams, imagines and feels inspired, so Saturn has the capacity to turn our dreams and fantasies into something concrete. Pisces also represents the collective unconscious – that invisible thread that connects us all. It knows nothing of boundaries. Saturn is the planet of fear, caution, limitation, control, structure, restrictions and boundaries. These are two very different energies! It is possible that fear could spread through the collective unconscious, or there could be attempts to control through subtle means and to create more and more boundaries that make us feel separate from one another. However, Pisces could potentially soften Saturn’s hard edges, and the power of a unified collective could wear away at any control that those in authority may seek to exert.

One thing that is very important is to watch ourselves when it comes to fear. We all feel fear, from time to time, but it is important not to dwell in it or allow it to overwhelm us. When we are in fear we are more easily controlled.  Pisces is our faith and trust that we are being guided in the right direction. Saturn could easily put a dampener on that, although it can also help us to see things as they are rather than dwelling in our fantasy of how things could be. Saturn in Pisces can also help us to truly take responsibility for those in need, in the spirit of compassionate service.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon is a very powerful one, at 17° Virgo: “A volcanic eruption”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The explosive energy of long-repressed contents of the subconscious. We are dealing here with the dramatic release of energies which have been kept in check by the outer shell of the ego-controlled consciousness. It may be a spectacular catharsis, but it often takes paths of destruction. Yet unless some form of purification by fire is experienced, the inner pressure of the karmic past, or of more recent frustrations would shake up perhaps even more destructively the very foundations of the personality. Everything must be released from the psyche seeking to attain the transfigured state. The soul must become empty, the mind translucent. The Keyword is EXPLOSION.”

Well, that is quite a symbol! It also has some resonance with the energy of Saturn in Pisces. What might have been building within us that needs to be released? What have we been trying to control or keep a lid on? This Moon could blow the lid off, by the sounds of it! Mars is forming a wide challenging square to the Sun and Moon, which could force things out into the open or cause anger to erupt. We also have Uranus playing such a big part in the Moon, helping to liberate and release stuck energy and bringing the potential for some kind of shake-up. It is possible that we have been holding onto something that needs to be brought out rather than being suppressed so that it becomes insidiously destructive. There is also the potential for something coming out in the world stage that causes shock waves. This is one powerful Moon, that is for sure! There seems to be the potential for cleansing, purifying, releasing, understanding, healing, expanding and exploding!

PISCES NEW MOON - 20 February 2023

Exact at 7.05am UK time (GMT)

This New Moon is occurring in the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces, a dreamy, sensitive, compassionate sign that encapsulates all the other signs of the zodiac. Pisces invites us to surrender, to let go, to move beyond our limiting, fearful egos and allow ourselves to be guided by the invisible force that connects us all. Pisces is the part of us that can use our imagination to dream things into being, and so this New Moon invites us to turn inward and contemplate what we truly wish for ourselves and the world. What the mind can conceive the body can achieve! It is a good time to pay attention to our dreams, as they could be more vivid than usual and may hold important information for our waking life. This is a good time to be aware of any subtle signs, messages or omens that could help us to find our way.

Pisces is the part of us that has the capacity to tune into how other people are feeling. People with a lot of Pisces energy in their chart tend to be quite thin-skinned, sensitive, compassionate, intuitive and empathetic. Pisces invites us to spend time in quiet contemplation, to meditate, to rest, to spend time in nature, to have a bath, to swim in a serene lake, to listen to the sound of wind and the birds, to watch the leaves rustling on the trees, a river rushing by, the ebb and flow of the tides. Similarly, time spent alone enables us to re-centre, to come back to ourselves, to cleanse our energetic system and to be able to listen to the whispers of our soul. This is a good time to slow down and focus on what truly holds meaning in our lives and what brings the greatest sense of fulfilment on a spiritual level.

A few days before the New Moon, on the 16th February, the Sun passes by Saturn in Aquarius before moving into Pisces late on 18 Feb. This could make things feel a bit heavy and “real”, although this will probably have abated by the New Moon itself. Saturn is at the very end of Aquarius now, getting ready to move into Pisces on 7 March. As it moves towards the end, we may feel the energy of Saturn in Aquarius more acutely. Saturn went into Aquarius in March 2020, just as the lockdowns started. Saturn is the planet of authority, control, suppression, boundaries, accountability, responsibility, hard work and limitations. Aquarius represents the group, friendships, community, technology and the capacity to rebel or protest. In the past couple of years we have certainly seen Saturnian control, limitation and curtailing in all of these areas of Aquarius. One of the most noticeable has been the increased use of technology as a form of authoritarian control, as well as the fear of what that might mean for the future.

It will be interesting to see what will happen as Saturn travels through Pisces, the sign of faith, compassion, flow, and devotion. It certainly does bring the potential for some kind of authoritarian control in the area of faith and religion.  Saturn is a completely different energy to Pisces, as it contretises, blocks, limits, controls and makes things real and solid, while Pisces is fluid by nature and hard to pin down. It is interesting to contemplate. How does one make the flowing Pisces energy solid?

On the one hand Saturn could provide a solid container for our faith and connection to the divine, making it feel more real and defined somehow. We may find ourselves more disciplined when it comes to our spiritual path. On the other hand, we could experience our hope, faith and trust being squashed or suppressed, or we could feel overwhelmed by fear, as our imaginations run wild in all sorts of dark directions. Pisces likes to escape reality and enjoy a bit of fantasy, while Saturn forces us to see things as they really are. Saturn could make us question what is real and what is illusion, smoke screens or propaganda. Saturn can also help us to turn our Piscean dreams and fantasies into something real and concrete, giving them form and helping to make the impossible possible. It can also help us to take responsibility for our lives instead of dwelling in victimhood and imagining that we are at the mercy of forces bigger than us.

At the same time, Pluto is also about to leave Capricorn on 23 March, where it has been since 2008. Again, the energy could feel stronger as Pluto moves towards the end of Capricorn. Pluto is the planet of power, soul growth and transformation, the planet that takes us on a trip into the underworld and forces us to confront the shadows within ourselves and the world, and by doing this we can come back with some hidden treasure. Capricorn is the sign of the patriarchy, government, authority, societal structures, and career.

Since 2008, Pluto has been exposing and detoxing the flaws and decaying structures in the patriarchal system that we are living in, making us all too aware of the corruption, the darkness, the imbalance and abuse of power within the systems that govern us. At this point it is impossible to avoid seeing it. As we move towards 23 March, when Pluto moves into humanitarian, revolutionary, visionary Aquarius, we could find that the energy of Pluto in Capricorn increases and more shadows come out into the light to be detoxified. It is the final purge of the Capricorn power structures, enabling us to see the cracks more clearly, whether we like it or not. It will be interesting to see what happens as Saturn moves from Aquarius into Pisces and then Pluto moves from Capricorn into Aquarius, as we could experience some kind of energetic shift.

During this Moon, Mercury is quite prevalent, with Uranus forming a dynamic, challenging square to the planet of mind and communication, and Chiron and Mars forming helpful, supportive aspects. Uranus could mean that we receive a message that shocks us, or some information that forces us to see things from a different perspective. Uranus can bring realisations and insights that jolt us into higher awareness. Chiron could bring honest, open, healing conversations and, together with Mars, the ability to bring thorny issues out into the open. Mars helps us to have the courage to speak our minds in a candid and direct manner and to make strong decisions.  Mercury is currently in Aquarius, helping us to think outside of the box and gain fresh perspective on old problems. Aquarius is a progressive, visionary sign that can help us to come up with some interesting solutions and see things differently.

Neptune, the ruler of this Pisces Moon, has been sitting right next to Venus in Pisces for the past few days and the energy peaked on 15 February. It is still in effect during his Moon, although not as strong. Neptune is the higher octave of Venus, bringing the potential for unconditional love and true connection within our relationships that helps us to take our guards down. Pluto is also forming a supportive sextile to Venus that is exact on the day of the New Moon, helping us to be emotionally honest and deepen our relationships, possibly by owning our shadows and showing one another those parts of ourselves that we might usually hide. Venus is in the very last degree of the zodiac during this Moon, which is a special place indeed. The day after she will move from sensitive, compassionate Pisces into independent, forthright Aries, shifting the energy considerably!

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 2° Pisces, is an interesting one: “A squirrel, hiding from hunters”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The individual’s need both to ensure his future subsistence and to protect himself from aggressive social elements. The squirrel not only has to hide and store food for the winter, but to be on the lookout for the dangers involved in gathering this food supply. Social processes always cast strong shadows. The individual is never certain of being safe among his fellowmen, once the process of individualisation – with its negative aspects, competition, social aggressivity and greed – forces the breakdown of the organic tribal state of mankind during the archaic ages. This symbol warns of the dangers of life in society during an era of exacerbated individualism, when violence is a possibility never to be dismissed. The need for SELF-PROTECTION and caution is ever present”.

Well, this symbol seems very relevant considering all that is happening in the world right now! It would be so easy to fall into fear and to feel as if there is something out to get us, whether that is real or not. And that is the thing about Pisces, sometimes we can imagine things that aren’t real. We can also feel like a leaf being blown around in the wind, at the mercy of forces that we have no control of. However, Pisces calls for us to keep the faith and trust that we are somehow being guided in the right direction and that ultimately the light always prevails over the darkness. This Moon seems to be asking us to turn inwards and to conserve our energy, making sure we get enough rest and to pay attention to our dreams. Pisces season is sleepy time, a time for rest and daydreaming and seeing where our imagination takes us. Pisces reminds us that we have the capacity to co-create our own reality, so what can we dream up for ourselves and the planet?

JUPITER MOVES INTO PISCES - 13 May 2021

Picture
From 13 May - 28 July

Jupiter moves from Aquarius into Pisces at 10.36pm UK time today, Thursday 13 May, which could bring a significant energetic shift, imbuing us with a lovely dose of faith, expansion, trust and hope. Jupiter is very at home in Pisces and could greatly heighten our sensitivity, connection and compassion and capacity for forgiveness and acceptance. Jupiter is the planet of growth and expansion, while Pisces helps to connect to spirit and open up to the subtle realms, heeding the quiets whispers from the divine. Jupiter represents our beliefs, and in Pisces we could potentially feel much more hopeful, connected and trusting that we are protected and being guided in the right direction. There is a feeling of expansion, optimism and the capacity to see the bigger picture, so that we don’t need to sweat the small stuff.

Jupiter is just dipping into Pisces until 28 July, but that will be enough time to give us a taste of what is to come when it moves into Pisces for the long haul at the end of December. Pisces is the sign of unconditional love that reminds us that we are all connected, so when the biggest planet moves into this spiritual sign it is quite possible that we will experience some kind of collective heart-opening, which would be very welcome indeed! Of course there is also the possibility of Jupiter magnifying any Piscean tendencies towards escapism, overwhelm, burying our heads in the sand and drifting off into fantasy-land, as Pisces isn’t all a bunch of roses! However, it could also help us to see things from a more heart-based perspective, enabling us to trust and surrender to the flow of life. This feels like a much needed balm for our bruised and battered spirits!

Much Love

I love writing about the Moon and the effect it has on us all, both collectively and personally. We all look at the same Moon and feel her energy, albeit in different ways. It reminds us that we are not alone and there is something very comforting about that!
