SAGITTARIUS FULL MOON - 11 June 2025

Exact at 8.43am UK time (BST)

A Sagittarius Moon generally has quite a lively energy to it, as this is an enthusiastic, energetic, optimistic, adventurous fire sign! We also have Jupiter, the ruling planet of Sagittarius, moving into sensitive, home loving, nurturing Cancer a couple of days before, where it will remain for the next year. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, meaning that it expresses the best of itself in this sign. This certainly adds some emotional nourishment to this Full Moon, as the Moon is in Jupiter’s sign and Jupiter is in the Moon’s sign. This Moon could help us to look at and release any beliefs about ourselves and life that we have inherited from our family, upbringing and childhood which might be holding us back from growth. It could help us to release old emotional baggage and to trust our own emotional wisdom instead of looking outside of ourselves for the answers to life’s questions.

Jupiter is the planet of growth, expansion and wisdom, and in Cancer it can help us to be more emotionally generous, emotionally intelligent, caring and trusting in human nature. We can really benefit from opening up emotionally and allowing ourselves to be more vulnerable. Our emotions always have a lot to teach us, and more so with Jupiter in Cancer. We are invited to honour our ancestors, connecting more deeply to our lineage and the wisdom it holds for us. This pairing can expand our capacity to truly care for ourselves and others and helps us to develop a greater sense of belonging, home, safety and nourishment. It could also help us to work on any unhealthy emotional attachments we might have, developing a greater sense of emotional security from within.

The Sagittarius Moon is forming a Grand Fire Trine with Chiron in Aries and Mars in Leo, which can be very healing and inspire us to be the best version of ourselves. Chiron in Aries is helping us to heal any wounds that we have about our identity and our right to exist and take up space, while Mars in Leo is helping us to express ourselves, doing what brings us joy and shine our light more fully. As such, this Moon can help us to heal any wounds around rejection, lack of validation, not being seen or heard, or being dismissed or discouraged from shining our light too brightly. We are invited to change the narrative, shedding our insecurities and wounded inner child, and to have the courage to be unapologetically ourselves, following our hearts, shining our light and expressing the fullness of who we are. It’s time to rewrite the story and move on.

There is some tension involved in this Moon, however. For a start, the Nodes of the Moon are forming a square to the Sun and Moon, forming a Grand Mutable Cross. The Sun in Gemini likes mental clarity and wants to understand and figure things out. It is our inner storyteller. The Moon in Sagittarius is seeking the truth, higher meaning and represents our emotional beliefs, some of which are simply not helpful or true. The South Node in Virgo is our tendency towards over-analysis and being hard on ourselves. The North Node in Pisces, however, is calling for us to let go of the mind, or the need to be right, or to have everything make sense, and invites us to simply trust in the unknown and unknowable. It asks us to have faith and trust in the flow of life and to still the monkey mind and surrender to what is, rather than how we think things should be.

We are called to let go of the old stories that have defined us, the beliefs that constrain us and to find a sense of acceptance and compassion for who and what we are, rather than being so hard on ourselves. We are being invited to let go of preconceptions, limiting beliefs, overanalysing and to stop trying to logically understand what is simply mysterious, magical and unfathomable. We are much bigger than these stories about ourselves that we have told ourselves and others over and over again, so that they have become embedded in our psyche. It is time to move beyond them and to start a new book.

Pluto is forming a dynamic square aspect to Venus in Taurus, exact on Monday 9 June, which could bring intense and transforming experiences around our relationships, self-worth and/or sense of material security. We could be called to recognise where we have chosen security and stability over authenticity, and where we are playing it safe and choosing comfort over soul growth. Pluto calls for us to be emotionally honest, stripping away self-deceit and daring to plunge into the depths instead of swimming in the shallows. If we are staying in a situation or relationship because it is safe and secure but no longer healthy for us, Pluto can force us to face the music and be true to ourselves, even if it is uncomfortable.

Saturn and Neptune are now both in Aries, sitting right next to each other. Saturn represents reality, control, discipline, boundaries, structure and form, while Neptune represents dreams, ideals, our imagination, fantasies, spiritual connection, and it dissolves boundaries. It is an interesting pairing, that’s for sure, as they are very different! In Aries, it could make us feel somewhat hermit-like and could even feel a bit isolating. There is the potential for feeling somewhat low or even hopeless, with feelings of futility. We could be forced to bravely confront whatever we have been avoiding or in denial about. This combination can help us bring our ideals and dreams into concrete form and act on them, so this is a good time to contemplate what we might want to imagine into being. This combo can help with spiritual discipline and manifestation.

This conjunction between Saturn and Neptune is also forming a dynamic square aspect to Jupiter in Cancer. Jupiter wants to expand and grow, while Saturn limits and constricts, forcing us to rein it in and realise our limitations. We could be called to be realistic about what is possible, and we may also be forced to look at some of our beliefs about ourselves and our past without the rose-tinted spectacles. This could be a time of facing up to some hard truths, especially around any emotional patterns and beliefs formed in childhood and our emotional attachments. Jupiter in Cancer seeks a sense of family and belonging, while the other two planets in Aries remind us that ultimately we are responsible for ourselves and walk this path alone.

It does feel like a reality check is part of this Moon, as is a certain degree of accountability and some kind of deeper commitment to our emotional and spiritual growth. The Saturn/Jupiter square will be exact on 15 June, although very much building from Monday onwards. The Neptune/Jupiter square will be exact on 18 June, and could bring out our more idealistic, hopeful and trusting side, as these two planets have more in common. Those of us with personal planets and angles between 0° and 2° will be feeling the realistic, responsible, disciplined energy of Saturn, the optimistic, expansive, growth-oriented energy of Jupiter and the idealistic, dreamy, unifying energy of Neptune the most acutely, especially the cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 21° Sagittarius, is a curious one: “A child and a dog wearing borrowed eyeglasses.” Which Dane Rudyar describes as “The use of imagination and make-believe in anticipating higher stages of development. This rather peculiar symbol seems to imply here that by imitating features belonging to a level of consciousness as yet unreachable, the process of growth may be accelerated. Eyeglasses symbolise intellectual development; the chiefs of primitive tribes in some instances have sought to impress their people by wearing spectacles without glass, or Western hats – simply because these objects seemed characteristic of a race of superior people. This is similar to the process of growth by identification with a “Master” or guru. In a sense it is mere pretending or make-believe, yet by wearing the “mask” of a god the medicine man at the time becomes for all practical purposes the incarnation of the god. Growth is always a hierarchical process, even if the growing entity is not aware of it. This is the first of five symbols constituting the fifty-third sequence. It suggests the value of LEARNING THROUGH IMITATION.”

The child and dog are using their imagination and making believe that they are very wise and mature!  This all feels very much Saturn (maturity), Neptune (imagination) and Jupiter (wisdom). It does feel like we have a chance here to bring dreams into concrete reality, so this could be a good Moon to contemplate what we truly want for ourselves and set some realistic goals. What is actually possible, and what is merely fantasy? The Aries energy reminds that ultimately we walk this path alone and must first and foremost tend to our own needs and desires, while this Moon in Sagittarius reminds us that anything is possible – we are only limited by our own beliefs, fear and imagination. And we do seem to be called to look at any beliefs and old stories that might be limiting us and holding us back from living our full potential. “Onwards and upwards” says Sagittarius! What do we want the next chapter of our adventure to look like?

Much Love

SCORPIO FULL MOON - 12 May 2025

Exact at 5.55pm UK time (BST)

A Scorpio Moon always holds the promise of soul level transformation, whereby we are invited to face our shadows and peer into the corners of our psyche that we would usually prefer to avoid! This Moon invites us to be brutally honest with ourselves, and to own our less desirable qualities, patterns and behaviours. It is often easier to cast blame outside of ourselves and to see in others what we really need to work on in ourselves. It is much harder to point the finger inward and to recognise the part we have played, recognising our own sabotaging patterns and tendencies. This is the kind of Moon that can help bring our shadows out into the light so that we can become more consciously aware of them. Knowledge is power!

The Sun is still in earthy, stable Taurus, sitting directly opposite the intense, powerful Scorpio Moon. Ultimately, we are called to find the balance between the two signs and integrate their energies, although we could find ourselves veering too far one way or the other. Too much Taurus would make it hard for us to change, and we can easily get stuck in habits and patterns that feel safe but are no longer healthy or helpful. Scorpio, however, challenges us to confront ourselves and to purge any patterns that no longer serve. It also helps us to let go of any unhealthy attachments and holds the mirror up to us so that we can see ourselves more clearly, warts and all! The Taurus part of us might prefer to avoid looking in the mirror too closely, declaring “I’m ok as I am” and denying that we have our dark corners just the same as anyone else!

The Scorpio part of us isn’t afraid to look under the carpet and see what might be festering there, and also seeks to reveal and expose our deepest, darkest secrets, our fears, our desires, our shame. However, too much Scorpio can make us suspicious of others’ motives, fearing that others may pull the rug out from underneath us or let us down, or abandon us. The Scorpio part of us can sometimes read into things too deeply and can have difficulty trusting due to challenging experiences in the past. This is where Taurus comes in, helping us to develop self-reliance, self-empowerment and self-sufficiency, getting ourselves into a more self-contained place whereby we feel safe, stable and rooted in ourselves, so that if the rug is pulled out from beneath us we won’t topple over or lose our sense of equilibrium.

Pluto, the planet of power, transformation and soul growth, is the ruler of this Scorpio Full Moon. Pluto is forming a dynamic square aspect to Mercury, the planet of mind and communication, which is exact the day of the Moon. We could find ourselves thinking quite deeply during this Moon and may have to confront some challenging material that could feel uncomfortable. There is the potential for some honest, penetrating conversations that really get to the heart of the matter. Information could come to light that reveals and exposes anything that has been hidden or suppressed.

We can make the most of this energy if we are willing to be emotionally honest with ourselves and others and bring our shadows into conscious awareness. We have a great opportunity for gaining a better understanding of our psychological complexes and those of others. With Pluto now retrograde, we could find that the past few months hold some buried treasure if we are willing to look back with new eyes and the willingness to understand on a deeper level. Those of us with personal planets or angles around 3°of a sign will feel the energy of this square most acutely, especially the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. Hidden truths could be revealed, our thought processes could be challenged, and we could also experience one track mind, as Pluto is known for being somewhat obsessive!

Jupiter in Gemini is a very big part of this Moon, as it is squaring the Nodes and is also forming part of a Yod (Finger of God) with Chiron in Aries, both “pointing the finger” at the Scorpio Moon herself. A Yod is a powerful configuration that can bring deep, fated experiences that are catalysts for profound spiritual growth and transformation. This particular Yod brings the potential for deep healing, as we are called to look at how our beliefs about ourselves might need to be re-evaluated and transmuted. We are all capable of lying to ourselves, or at the very least avoiding the truth. We all have stories that we feel more comfortable telling ourselves rather than looking underneath and looking at the truth of the matter.

The Scorpio Moon demands that we drop the masks and dare to see beyond the stories we have constructed to make us feel okay about ourselves. This Moon seems to be calling for some raw honesty that could be so healing if we are willing to go there. It can be deeply uncomfortable to turn the mirror on ourselves and to truly see what we are being shown. We can so easily get caught up believing in an identity that is not who we really are. Who are we, really? What do we project onto others that we really need to recognise and own in ourselves? What do we fear most that people might discover about us? Are we able to send the light of love, compassion, forgiveness and acceptance to the parts of us that we have relegated to the shadows?

Those of us with personal planets and angles between 22° and 24° of a sign will feel the uncomfortable yet powerfully transformative and healing energy of this Yod the most acutely. It is not easy to shed these old beliefs and identities and bring our true selves out into the light in their authentic wholeness, but that seems to be what we are being called to do! With Saturn also in the last degrees of Pisces, we are called to let go of any illusions and see things as they really are. Including ourselves. With Jupiter in Gemini also square the Nodes of the Moon, we could find that our minds are so active and there is so much going on in the ether that it is hard to let go of the analytical mind so that we can find the quiet inner voice and connect to our spiritual guidance.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 23° Scorpio, is an intriguing one: “ A rabbit metamorphoses into a nature spirit”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The raising of animal drives to a higher level. The rabbit is traditionally a symbol of an overabundance of progeny, thus of a great stress on procreative and sexual processes. “Nature spirits,” on the other hand, represent the higher aspect of life energies, as they are said to guide those normally invisible forces controlling the growth of all living organisms, particularly in the vegetable kingdom. Thus, the symbol refers to the transmutation of the generative power into a more ethereal and subtle form of potency. Whether it is the sexual desire for a progeny, or aggressiveness, the instinctual urge can be raised to a new level. The course can become subtle through a process of TRANSUBSTANTIATION.”

This Moon does seem to hold the potential for transforming darkness into light. However, in order to do so we must be prepared to look into the darkness and face what lies there, truly owning it so that we are better able to transmute it. Much like the monster under the bed, the shadow parts of us lose their power when we shine the torch on them! Pluto and Mercury are on our side here, reminding us that knowledge is power, as is the capacity to see ourselves clearly. Luckily, we also have Uranus next to the Sun and opposite the Moon, bringing the potential for clarity, insight, new perspective and the capacity to shed any unhealthy attachments and shift out of old, outworn patterns.

This Moon might not feel particularly comfortable, but it could be tremendously healing, if we are willing and able to look in the mirror and be really honest about what we see. Such is the gift of Scorpio.

Much Love

LIBRA FULL MOON - 13 April 2025

Exact at 1.22am UK time (BST)

Well, there is a lot going on during this Full Moon, that’s for sure, with a huge amount of planetary energy swirling around! In fact, there is so much going on that it is hard to know where to start with it all!  Interestingly, Venus and Mars, the rulers of Libra and Aries, are key players in the cosmic line up.  This Moon is very much bringing our relationships into focus, partly because that is the nature of a Full Moon, and partly because Libra is the sign of relationship. Retrograde Venus has also been very present in the past week, joining forces with Saturn to bring about a moment of reckoning and a rather big reality check in the realm of relationships, self-worth and money. She will also be stationary during this Moon, making her energy even stronger.

The Sun is still in independent, enthusiastic, direct and forthright Aries, sitting directly opposite the Moon in fair minded, diplomatic, peace-loving Libra. Full Moons call for us to find a way to integrate and balance the energy of the two signs, rather than veering too far one way or the other. Aries can help us to be direct, open and honest in our dealings with others and to express our needs, but in the extreme can mean that we are overly assertive and overlook the other person’s needs. Libra can help us to think of others needs, as it seeks balance, peace, fairness and equality, but in the extreme can lead to people pleasing, co-dependency and losing sight of our own needs. In the middle is the answer, whereby we can listen to what the other person needs without losing sight of our own needs, and can assert ourselves in a peaceful, kind, fair, loving yet direct manner.

Chiron the Wounded Healer is incredibly strong during this Moon, sitting in the very same degree as the Sun, in Aries. This could be incredibly healing, as we have a chance to address any wounds around our right to exist and our identity, as well as any shame around who we are and what we have done. “You are enough!” cries Chiron in Aries. We could be called to stand up for ourselves and express what is in our hearts, getting things out into the open, even at the risk of rocking the boat. The Libra part of us would rather turn a blind eye and keep the peace, but the healing could come from owning whatever is coming up for us and expressing it, even at the risk of upsetting the apple cart.

Mars, the ruler of Aries, is in Cancer, squaring this Full Moon, which could bring childhood wounds and sensitivities to the surface for us to deal with. However, it can also enable us to be sensitive and nurturing, and to approach matters with a certain degree of emotional intelligence, which helps! We certainly could get triggered, as our sore spots may be activated, making us a bit defensive, more easily angered and reactionary. However, it could be helpful to have a long hard look at whatever comes up during this time, because it might reveal what is still unhealed within us and in need of some loving attention, forgiveness and acceptance.

It is important to be aware that we could be more sensitive and easily hurt than usual, especially those of us with personal planets and angles close to 23° of a sign. The cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will feel the energy of Mars (26° Cancer) and the Sun/Chiron conjunction the most acutely. We could become very aware of how we dim our light, or try not to take up too much space, or keep quiet to keep the peace, or hold back from asserting ourselves because we are afraid of losing love. We are being called to be bold and brave, while also being kind and loving to ourselves and others. Instead of running away from the wound or disowning it, we are invited to turn towards it and give it our full attention, and a very big hug!

Saturn is a very big player during this Moon, forming a nagging inconjunct to the Moon herself and also sitting right next to the North Node, Mercury and Venus, the ruler of Libra. This is a very sobering influence, bringing about a massive reality check and moment of stark clarity in the realm of relationships and finances. We are being called to see things as they really are, not how our fanciful imaginations would like them to be. Are our relationships rooted in reality, commitment, devotion, mutual responsibility and willingness to do the work, or is that merely our hope and fantasy? We could be called to wake up from the dream of how things could be and face what is actually possible. Reality can be a tough pill to swallow, but it is better than the alternative, which includes delusion and denial.

Some deep fear could come up around our relationships and finances, making us feel quite cautious and unwilling to take risks. However, it is important not to dwell in fear, as it only blocks the free flow of energy. This is easier said than done, however! With Venus retrograde, sitting with Saturn on top of the Pisces North Node, this could be the end of a karmic cycle in our relationships, calling for us to stop repeating the same unhelpful patterns, over and over again, hoping that there will be a different outcome. We are being given the opportunity to see beyond what we hope to be true, so that we can grasp what is really going on and make the necessary adjustments. Some relationships will be stronger and more solid for the test, while some will simply need to be released with love and gratitude for all that we have learned from them.

Interestingly, Uranus is also in the picture, helping us to liberate ourselves from unhealthy patterns, programming, relationships and situations that are not serving growth. Uranus and Saturn are forming a Yod, a Finger of God formation, with the finger pointing at the Libra Moon. This could mean that we feel a bit unsettled and agitated but can also bring tremendous insight and clarity around what needs to change, especially in the realm of our emotional life and relationships. We are going through a period when old, outworn structures and value systems are breaking down so that we can break through to something fresh, new and more aligned with this New World that is being born. However, this process can be acutely uncomfortable and could bring up a lot of fear and resistance as we enter unfamiliar territory.

We are being called to truly understand what it means to have faith and trust, and to surrender to the flow of life rather than clinging onto the illusion of being in control.  We are called to release whatever is quite obviously not working and allow space for whatever is waiting to come in. It is hard to let go and be in a state of surrender and deep trust, but that is what we are being called to do right now. Fear only blocks the flow and brings feelings of contraction, while taking a deep breath, letting go and opening ourselves up to whatever is waiting to come in, even if it feels strange and unfamiliar, brings feelings of wonder, excitement and expansion. Where are we being led right now? What seems to be unfolding naturally rather than having to force it? What feels easy, effortless and joyful, versus stuck, heavy, scared and blocked? Follow the path of least resistance!

Neptune is now in Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, which is fresh, enthusiastic, open, pioneering energy. This brings the potential for inspired, compassionate action, whereby we are able to act on our inner guidance and make brave, bold leaps from a place of faith, trust and intuition. This combination can help us to make our moves when the time feels “right”, rather than pushing against the current. Neptune in Pisces is good at dreaming but equally good at procrastinating, while Neptune in Aries can channel divine inspiration into making things happen. It is much more energetic, active and enthusiastic, and so we are invited to see where the creative flow takes us!

The Sabian Symbol for this Moon, at 24° Libra, is an intriguing one to contemplate: A butterfly with a third wing on its left side”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The ability to develop, for inner strengthening, new modes of response to basic life situations. The butterfly is the ancient and traditional symbol of the results of the process of spiritual rebirth. If the butterfly has three wings instead of two, a special development of an aspect of the spiritual life is shown. Three is a symbol of fulfilment. Some power has been added to the normal spiritual life of the individual person. The left side usually refers to the instinctual field of the consciousness, but it is also the heart’s side. A new strength is shown, perhaps as yet unrealised. This usually refers to some kind of technique or technical achievement. What is implied here is that the contact with the revivifying Life-force can result in the appearance of a new faculty, the use of which may not as yet be consciously evaluated. Indeed, it is the establishment of such a contact which constitutes a technique for ORIGINAL MUTATION.”

It will be interesting to see what is being born in us as we come out of the collective chrysalis! Even though it is Aries season, Mercury and Venus are still in sleepy, sensitive Pisces and while Mercury is now direct, we are still waiting for Venus to turn direct on the 14 April, the day after this Full Moon. Mercury re-enters Aries on 17 April, and Venus follows on 30 April, after meeting up with Saturn for one last reality check on 25 April. It could be “full charge ahead” after that!

Maybe we still have some looking back to do for us to gain more understanding of ourselves and our relationships. Maybe there is some important healing to be done during this Moon that can help matters along. Maybe we need to forgive and accept past versions of ourselves that we have rejected, abandoned and turned our back on out of shame.  Maybe we need to accept reality and work with it, rather than hoping for what is simply not possible anymore. Maybe we are being called to surrender to what is, rather than trying to force things to be the way we think they should be. One thing is sure, fear is not helpful. It is imperative that we develop and embrace that third wing and tap into our heart’s wisdom to show us the way.

Much Love

VIRGO FULL MOON / TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE - 14 March 2025

3/10/2025

Picture
Exact at 6.54am UK time (GMT)

This is an incredibly powerful Full Moon, as it is also a total Lunar Eclipse, which brings a sense of completion of a cycle and ushering in a new one. Eclipses are incredibly powerful and can bring about fated experiences that change our lives and shift our consciousness. This one feels especially potent and poignant with so much energy in Pisces, the last sign in the zodiac, with its ruling planet Neptune in the very last degree of the entire zodiac. What needs to fall away for us to usher in the new energy? What might we need to resolve to move to the next phase? What in our lives is coming to a natural conclusion? What do we need to let go of so that we can move forward and grow? As one chapter ends a new one takes its place.

The Sun is in Pisces, opposing the Full Moon in Virgo, and both are activating the Nodes of the Moon, which is what makes this Full Moon so important and fateful. The North Node is currently in sensitive, intuitive and compassionate Pisces, guiding us forward, both personally and collectively, while the South Node is in helpful, analytical and perfectionistic Virgo. Virgo is a very humble, service-oriented sign that calls for us to work on ourselves to become the best that we can be, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. However, while the North Node is in Pisces we are called to release any Virgoan tendency to be hard on ourselves or overly self-critical or perfectionistic, both toward ourselves and others.

The Pisces North Node encourages us to find a greater degree of acceptance, and to forgive ourselves and others for our so-called imperfections. We are only human, and human beings make mistakes sometimes! While the Virgo part of us prefers things to be organised and in order, in neat, tidy little boxes, the Pisces North node calls for us to accept that sometimes things get a little bit messy and don’t always make sense. Pisces reminds us that ultimately, we are not in control, and to simply relax, let go and surrender to forces that are larger than us. We are invited to trust the quiet voice within that knows what is best for us, even when the guidance doesn’t make logical sense. We are encouraged to develop faith and trust that we are being guided in the right direction, even when the way is not clear.

This Moon invites us to embrace the helpful traits of Virgo and develop healthy routines that help us to take care of our mind, body and spirit. Pisces is calling for us to still the monkey mind, open our hearts and connect to the unseen, developing a deeper connection to spirit. However, as we do this, we could find ourselves more sensitised, open, vulnerable, destabilised and even overwhelmed, so it is important to eat well, get good exercise and do all we can to ground and nourish ourselves. This is a great time for meditation, Tai Chi, yoga, prayer and all forms of healing and energy work, especially in the build up to this Moon, as we could be feeling more tender, open and connected to all that is.

Saturn is sitting right next to the Pisces Sun, opposing the Moon, which also calls for us to develop greater discipline and control over ourselves and to set healthy boundaries, but could also make things feel a bit heavy and “real”. Pisces is the part of us that can tend to bury our heads in the sand when the going gets tough and may prefer to escape into fantasy land or numb out rather than facing reality. Saturn, however, is the planet of reality and the Lord of Karma, so there is no avoiding things when he is around! Saturn reminds us, in no uncertain terms, that we reap when we sow.

This Moon certainly could bring a lot up and out, possibly bringing into focus whatever we feel guilty about, so much so that we could judge ourselves and give ourselves rather a hard time! Saturn does call on us to be accountable, taking responsibility for whatever we have done or not done, while Pisces encourages us to admit where we might have gone wrong, make amends where we can and forgive ourselves and others for our human failings. We all have all done things that we regret, but rather than dwelling in guilt, it is better to simply vow to recognise where we went wrong and do better next time. If we could turn back time, how would we do things differently?

Saturn can bring up our fears and make us all too aware of our limitations but is can also help us to step up to the plate in a mature and responsible manner and create better boundaries to protect ourselves. In the build up to this Moon it could be a good idea to keep an eye on anyone in our life who may be struggling or depressed, as reality could feel hard to bear for some of the more sensitive and vulnerable souls amongst us. Virgo can bring analysis paralysis and a spiral of negative thoughts which can be a bit tricky. Those of us with personal planets or angles around 22° of a sign, especially the mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, will feel the energy of Saturn most acutely. The Saturn/Sun conjunction is exact on Wednesday 12 February, but will still be strong during this Moon.

Luckily, we also have Uranus, the Great Awakener, supporting the Sun and Moon, which is a welcome relief! Uranus is the planet that comes after Saturn in the planetary line-up and can help us to liberate ourselves from our fears, our judgements, our conditioning and any unhealthy patterns that might be holding us prisoner. Uranus can help us to see things from another perspective, bringing clarity, insight and greater understanding of whatever we may be facing during this time. Sometimes just seeing things from a different point of view can bring the change we need. Those of us with personal planets or angles around 23° of a sign, especially the Earth and Water signs, will benefit most from this liberating, insightful energy.

Venus and Mercury are joining together in Aries for this Full Moon, which could bring some honest, open, direct conversations around our relationships and/or our finances. Venus is currently retrograde, while Mercury is standing still, getting ready to turn retrograde on Sunday 16 March. As such, we could be pulled into the past somehow in order to review, reflect, revisit and repair any patterns that no longer serve us in the area of self-worth and relating. We may need to look backwards so that we can understand, learn, let go and move on. Combined with all of this Pisces energy, this is an ideal time to forgive and forget, so that we can move forward with peace in our hearts.

Aries could help us to be brave and bold enough to bring things up for discussion that we might usually shy away from. However, it can also mean that we say things on impulse, or in the heat of the moment, that we wish we could take back! However, being honest with ourselves and others is always helpful, and we have the potential to bring old grievances, resentments and regrets from the past out into the open so that hopefully we can make our peace with it all and move on. All this Pisces energy is inviting us to let go, tie up loose ends, find resolution and leave the past behind, while Aries calls for us to step forward and make a fresh start, trying something new on for size.

The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon, at 24° Virgo, has a certain purity to it: “Mary and her little lamb”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The need to keep a vibrant and pure simplicity at the core of one’s being, as one meets the many tests of existence.  This symbol tells us that, though great, spectacular and resolute efforts are needed in order to achieve one’s higher goals of destiny, still the essential quality as one journeys on “the Path” is pure, spontaneous, fresh and non-violent approach to all encounters. This of course is Jesus’ entreaty to his disciples – that they should be like “little children.” Without such a deep, heartfelt simplicity the seeker after spiritual experiences or Initiation is bound to find himself glamourised by his own successes, and to see his ego feeding on the drama of struggle and victory. This symbol presents us with a subtle hint of technique. Beyond individual prowess and social eminence, the individual whose innocence is fixed upon spiritual realisation should genuinely radiate INNOCENCE.”

There is an innocence and purity to this symbol that is at the core of the Virgo/Pisces polarity, which calls for us to cleanse, purify and humble ourselves so that we can truly connect with Spirit. Virgo helps us to work on ourselves, to serve others and to deflate the egocentric balloon. Pisces reminds us that ultimately we are not in control and calls for us to put our trust in the unknown, to find peace with what is and true acceptance of ourselves and others, in all our perfect imperfection. Eclipse season is upon us, shepherding in in a new chapter, while Neptune is at 29° Pisces, which represents the culmination of a cycle and could be a time of profound emotional clearing and closure, with some important lessons around faith, trust, surrender, acceptance, dissolving ego and spiritual connection. It is time to truly know what it means to let go.

Much Love

LEO FULL MOON - 12 February 2025

Exact at 1.53pm UK time (GMT)

This Full Moon has the potential to shake things up a bit, especially if anything is stuck, stale or restrictive in our lives. It also calls for us to listen to our hearts and follow the path of joy. Full Moons tend to bring to a head whatever has been building up over the previous week or so, illuminating anything that has been simmering beneath the surface. And Leo is no shrinking violet! Leo is a creative, expressive, playful sign that encourages us to shine our light brightly in the world. This is an ideal Moon to let our inner child out to play, allowing ourselves to be spontaneous and carefree. Leo is the part of us that likes to feel appreciated, special and seen, although it can go too far if we find ourselves seeking attention, approval and validation from outside of ourselves. Ultimately it is an inside job!

It is Aquarius season right now, and the Sun in Aquarius is sitting directly opposite the Leo Moon, calling for us to find balance between the two signs. Aquarius is the part of us that can feel different to others and can have experiences of feeling like an outsider. Leo, however, is the part of us that fully participates in life and likes to be in the middle of things, rather than on the outside looking in. Leo is the part of us that can sometimes be too proud and can feel like the world revolves around us, and can also seek external validation, so these are things to watch out for on a Leo Full Moon. Aquarius reminds us that it’s not all about us, and that we all have something unique and special to contribute to the greater whole. Aquarius helps us to detach and see ourselves objectively, while Leo can be a bit subjective and centred on self.

This Moon invites us to shine our lights brightly and unapologetically express all that we are! This is not a time for dimming our light in order to fit in. Rather, we are encouraged to contemplate how and where we shine most naturally and stand out from the crowd. What brings us our greatest joy? What makes us feel most alive? What are we naturally good at? Do we compare ourselves to others too much? What would our best life look like? What would be our ideal way to spend each day? What special gifts have we got to offer? How can we be more spontaneous and bring more play and romance into our life? Is our self-worth dependent on others approval? Do we make ourselves small in order to fit in? These are all good questions to ask on a Leo Full Moon!

Uranus is forming a dynamic square aspect to the Sun, Moon and Mercury, bringing the potential for wake-up calls that shift us out of stasis and stagnation. Uranus can jolt us into greater awareness of what needs to change, bringing clarity, insight and shifts in perspective that can be quite shocking and awakening. We could feel a bit unsettled, as our cages are rattled somewhat, but this could ultimately be a liberating Moon that helps us to get back to our true nature. Uranus helps us to unravel some of our more unhelpful conditioning so that we feel free of the chains that weigh us down and hold us back from being unapologetically ourselves. We could have some emotional breakthroughs during this Moon, with sudden realisations that could be both surprising and illuminating.

Those of us with personal planets and angles around 23° of a sign, especially the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, will feel the radical, revolutionary, shifting energy of Uranus the most acutely. Sometimes we need a bit of a jolt to shift us into a greater sense of awareness and clarity. During this Moon we are encouraged to think outside of the box and open ourselves up to change, as it is an inevitable part of life. Uranus is the part of us that wants to feel free, and doesn’t like to be held down, restricted or constrained in any way, or to have to pretend we are someone we are not, so we may find ourselves wanting to bust out of whatever cage we feel like we have been put into, making a bid for freedom and being utterly true to ourselves.

The Sun and Mercury are sitting right next to each other in Aquarius, exact on Monday 10 Feb, which could bring thoughts, ideas and communication that are somewhat out of the box! It’s an ideal time for coming up with new solutions to old problems and looking at things from a fresh perspective. It is important not to get too caught up in our own point of view, as the Sun does represent the ego after all, but to be open to listening to other people’s thoughts and ideas. Indeed, they could challenge us to see things differently, which could be helpful. With Uranus also squaring this pairing, we could have some crazy ideas, epiphanies and breakthroughs that could bring greater insight and help us see more clearly so that we can make much needed changes in our lives.

Saturn is forming a helpful, harmonious trine to Mars during this Moon, exact Sunday 9 Feb, helping us to ground our ideas and visions into reality. Leo and Aquarius are very creative and visionary, so Saturn and Mars can help with the potential for constructive action and disciplined, sustained, focused energy that can help us to build something of lasting impact and value. Saturn helps us to commit to whatever we are trying to do and encourages us to look at the long game rather than the quick fix. Slow and steady wins the race!  It can also help us to take responsibility for our reactions and triggers, asserting ourselves in a mature manner and being truly accountable. Saturn can help us to control our anger and impulses, rather than reacting with knee jerk responses from the wounded child inside of us.

Neptune is still sitting on top of the Pisces North Node, although the conjunction was exact on 7 February which means that the energy is now on the wane. Our dream life could be more prolific with all this Pisces energy around, and we could feel a greater urge to escape reality somehow, whether through alcohol, drugs, TV, movies or computer games. Pisces likes to numb out! We are being called to surrender control and allow ourselves to be guided along the path of least resistance. Neptune and Pisces help to dissolve our ego and anything else that might be preventing us from connecting with the Divine and can help us to open up with compassion, forgiveness and true empathy for ourselves and others.

We could feel more sensitive, open and even overwhelmed at times, so it is a good idea to eat well and ground ourselves as much as possible. This is a great time for meditation, healing and creating! Those of us with personal planets or angles around 27/28° of a sign, especially the mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, will feel the softening, dissolving, sensitising, flowing energy of this conjunction the most acutely.

The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon, at 25° Leo, is an interesting one: “ A large camel is seen crossing a vast and forbidding desert”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “Self-sufficiency in the face of a long and exhausting adventure. The camel here represents a living organism that is able to sustain itself independently of its environment at the start of a trying journey. (The original formulation of the symbol did not refer to “a man on a camel back.”) The organism carries within itself what is absolutely needed for survival. At the deeper human level of consciousness it is easy to see the value of self-reliance and self-sufficiency as one enters the occult Path leading to a more dynamic and more inclusive realm of existence. The camel carries water within its body and it is said that the dromedary is able to utilise the matter stored in its large protuberance as food. The suggestion here is that in order to be released from bondage to the “old world” we should be completely self-contained emotionally; having absorbed the mental food which this old culture has given us, we are ready to face “the desert,” nothingness, Sunya…until we reach the “new world.” We need TOTAL INDEPENDENCE from our surroundings and utter SELF-RELIANCE.”

Ultimately a Leo Full Moon calls for us to contemplate what brings us joy and to follow our hearts. It is interesting that Uranus is so strong during this Moon, because it helps to release us from any “bondage” so that we are free to create our best life. This is a good time to recognise where in our lives we feel trapped, or weighed down by drudgery, or confined by restrictive rules or obligations, or constrained by old, outworn conditioning, or not able to simply be ourselves. Aquarius holds the vision of how life can be, while Leo helps us to create and actualise the life we envision. The old world is crumbling, and a new one is being born, and so it is time to throw out the old rule book and create a new one. Leo reminds us to have fun along the way!

Much Love

CANCER FULL MOON - 13 January 2025

Picture

Exact at 10.36pm UK time (GMT)

This Moon is a powerful one, that is for sure! There is a lot of strong planetary energy swirling around, as the majority of the planets are forming an aspect to the Sun and Moon in one way or another. The Moon is very much at home in Cancer, as she is the planetary ruler of this sensitive, emotionally intelligent, nurturing sign. However, we do also have Mars, the warrior planet, sitting right next to the Moon, so this could heat things up a bit and could bring out our more reactive, defensive, protective side! We could find ourselves more easily angered, and the more insecure, needy, vulnerable childish part of us could easily come to the fore.

This is where the Capricorn Sun comes in. Sitting directly opposite the Cancer Moon, it provides some balance, helping us to take responsibility for ourselves and our reactions, parenting our inner child and gaining control over our emotions. Of course, Capricorn energy can go too far if we end up controlling our emotions so much that we suppress or hide them, whereas Cancer teaches us that allowing ourselves to be vulnerable and express our needs and emotions can be helpful sometimes because at least the other person knows what is going on and can help us. It’s a fine line, and in an ideal world we would have a nice balance between the two signs, expressing our needs and feelings in an emotionally mature manner, whereby we are taking full responsibility for ourselves while also feeling the feelings and allowing others in.

We not only have Mars next to the Moon, but we also have Chiron in Aries squaring the Sun and Moon, which could add to any emotional reactivity! The square between the Sun and Chiron was exact on Thursday 9 January, and Chiron will square the Moon a few hours before the Moon is full. This could be a deeply healing time, from Tuesday 7 Jan onwards, although it could also be a bit painful as our core wounds could be activated, especially for those of us who have personal planets or angles around 19° of a sign. Chiron in Aries can help us to get things out into the open to be fully aired, including old grievances, past hurts, our insecurities and any resentments that we might be carrying. Ultimately this can be very helpful and healing, although the process could bring up anger, defensiveness, hurt, shame, regret and remorse. However, we have a wonderful opportunity to clear the past and move on.

Luckily, help is at hand to help us to release, forgive and let go so that we can move on with lighter hearts. Firstly, Neptune is also forming a harmonious aspect to Mars, helping us to intuitively know when to act, and potentially dissolving any anger and resentment that simply no longer serves us. A big shift also happens this week that will affect us collectively and personally, as the Nodes of the Moon shift signs on Saturday 11 January, from Libra and Aries into Virgo and Pisces, which is the spiritual and healing axis. The South Node will be in Virgo and the North Node in Pisces for the next 18 months, calling for us to let go of any Virgo South Node tendencies to be hard on ourselves and others, or to over-analyse and worry, or to constantly feel like we need to be “doing”, or the need to be perfect, in control and completely on top of things.

The Pisces North Node is calling for us to drop any criticism of ourselves and others in favour of compassion, love and forgiveness for our flaws and imperfections. Pisces reminds us that we are all simply human beings doing the best that we can with the tools we have been given. Sometimes we mess up and sometimes things get messy, and nobody is perfect! In fact, there is beauty in our imperfection. This next 18 months encourages us to let go, surrender control and truly embrace the flow of life, coming from a place of faith and trust that we are being guided in the right direction, and that all is as it is meant to be. Pisces reminds us to simply “be”, rather than “doing” so much, and invites us to nurture our connection to Spirit through meditation, prayer, creativity, dancing, singing and spending time in nature.

Pisces can help us to let go of past hurts and move on in the spirit of true acceptance of what is. It is so beautiful that Neptune, ruler of this Pisces North Node, is supporting this Moon, adding more connectivity, sensitivity and compassion to the cosmic soup! This can help us to remember that we are all connected, as ultimately we all come from the same melting pot and are simply souls doing the best we can with the tools we have been given. It can help us to let go of any resentments, criticism, judgement or shame and to see ourselves and each other through the lens of empathy, acceptance, forgiveness and compassion.

The Cancer part of us can tend to cling to the past, and can easily put the blame outside of ourselves, while Neptune and Pisces can help us to forgive and let go, so that we can find peace in our hearts. We can either wallow in self-pity and victimhood or make the choice to see how all that has happened in our lives, the good, the bad and the ugly, has led to where we are now. We are encouraged to trust in the divine plan, and to accept that all is perfect just as it is, for then we can feel peace. Those of us with personal planets and angles around 27° of a sign will feel the ego-dissolving, unifying energy of Neptune most acutely, while those around 29° could feel the impact of the North Node moving into spiritual Pisces. The Neptune/Moon trine will be exact a few hours after the Moon is full, while the Sun/Neptune sextile will be exact on 17th January.

There is so much going on during this Moon that I could probably write for days! Uranus is also supporting the Sun and Moon, helping bring clarity, insight and potential for somehow “waking up” to something that we hitherto couldn’t see or understand. Uranus always brings the potential for a change of perspective, and for shifts, changes and breakthroughs. Those of us with planets and angles around 23° of a sign will be feeling the erratic, shifting, awakening energy of Uranus the most acutely, especially the fixed signs. Uranus encourages us to be true to ourselves, even if it challenges the status quo.

Venus and Saturn are joining forces in Pisces during this Moon, exact on 19 January, and the energy is building during this Moon. With Venus in sensitive, dreamy, idealistic Pisces, this brings greater empathy, romance, compassion, heartfelt connection, acceptance and the potential for unconditional love to our relationships. However, it can also mean that we have the rose-tinted spectacles on and might project our own ideals and fantasies onto the other person rather than relating to them and their flawed humanity.

This is where Saturn comes in, bringing us down to earth and giving a healthy dose of reality! Saturn can also help us to create better boundaries, which is not exactly Pisces’ strong point. Saturn and Venus can help us to look at the long game when it comes to our relationships and to do whatever work is needed to solidify and cement them so that they have a greater chance of longevity. Saturn is the planet of commitment that helps us to lay down the foundations, brick by brick, slowly, surely, steadily. However, there is also the potential for us having to confront some difficult material, as Saturn doesn’t shy away from looking at what isn’t working. If we are willing to do the work, however, it could help make our relationships stronger and more “real”.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 25° Cancer, is a powerful one, which makes sense as the North Node has moved into Pisces: “A will-full man is overshadowed by a descent of superior power”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The response of spiritual forces to the integration of personality through positive, will-full endeavours. We are dealing here with a man who uses his will and positive imagination in facing his life problems. To him comes a Pentecostal descent of power. He receives the “mantle of power,” the grace (Baraka in Sufi philosophy) or the Providential assistance which can make him a true leader in his culture. In this symbol we witness a more transcendent expression of “success.” It is not merely external success (as is given by society to its prima donnas), but a spiritual response, a sign of inner strength and uncommon ENDOWMENT.”

May we all experience that moment of grace! Although there is some Mars energy around during this Moon, which could mean that we are a bit more sensitive and easily triggered, it does feel like the gentle, sensitive, flowing Pisces energy is very prevalent during this Moon. Combined with the energy of this Cancer Moon, the Pisces North Node is here to help us to find compassion and forgiveness for ourselves and others, and to truly accept that all that has happened over the course of our lifetime has led us to where we are now. We can’t change what has been, and if we have any regrets then we can simply vow to do better next time. There is no point beating ourselves up over it.

Cancer is the part of us that can tend to look back into the past and sometimes wishes that things could have turned out another way. It is our emotional intelligence and capacity to nurture and is also the vulnerable little child in us that sometimes feels insecure and needy. Capricorn helps us to be our own loving parent and caretaker, reminding us that ultimately we are only responsible for our own actions and reactions, and to act from a place of maturity and integrity. The Pisces energy helps us to let go of any judgement, blame, shame, guilt and resentment and to trust the flow of life, finding graceful acceptance of all that is.

Much Love

GEMINI FULL MOON - 15 December 2024

Picture
Exact at 9.01am UK time (GMT)

This Moon in Gemini can bring a lot of mental activity and could make everything feel very busy indeed, possibly overwhelmingly so. As such, it is important to make sure that we take time out if we can. Those of us with a lot of Gemini in our charts like variety and tend to have our finger in many pies, so much so that we can spread ourselves a bit too thin at times. This is also Sagittarius season, which can mean that we overextend ourselves and overdo it somewhat. Sagittarius is a very “expansive” sign that does everything in a very big way, sometimes to the point of excess! This Moon could be fun, lively and jovial, but could also mean that we feel somewhat overstretched.

This could also bring opportunities to say anything that we have been holding back or keeping to ourselves. Gemini is the master of communication, while Sagittarius is the truth seeker and truth sayer. Sagittarius can be a bit blunt, however, while Gemini is more adept at delivering the truth in a palatable and comprehensible way. It is important to be aware that while we may have our version of the truth, another person has their truth as well, which is equally valid. And somewhere in the middle of the two is the truth itself. It is possible that we could find ourselves delivering a few home truths during this Moon, and we could also be on the receiving end of someone else’s truth. It is very important to truly listen to one another in an effort to truly understand each other’s perspective and reality, and to not interrupt or make assumptions.

Mercury, the ruler of this Gemini Moon, is very strong indeed, as it is standing still and preparing to go forward, having been retrograde since 26 November. The planet of the mind and communication is in Sagittarius and has been helping us to go back over old ground over the past three weeks, helping us to find growth and wisdom in retrospect. It can help to look back into the past sometimes, as it has lessons for us that we can take into the future. We can’t turn back time, but we can certainly learn from it and try not to make the same mistakes again. Mercury in Sagittarius encourages us to be honest with ourselves and others and to speak our truth, even if it is uncomfortable. It can also help us to look forward with a positive and hopeful sense of what is possible.

Mercury is forming a lovely supportive trine aspect to Mars in Leo during this Moon, which can help us to have the courage to express ourselves and say what needs to be said. It also helps us to align our thoughts and ideas with our actions, so that we can “put our money where our mouth is”, so to speak. It as a great time for brainstorming creative projects, and for having lively and passionate discussions about our innermost desires. With Mars retrograde, we may be able to understand, articulate and resolve past grievances and old resentments that might be lingering, bringing them out into the open so that the energy can be cleared. There is a sense that we can somehow bring forward what we have learned from the past in order to clarify and articulate our hopes, aspirations and desires for the future.

Honesty is key here. It is so important to be able to express how we feel, what we want, what we need and what is on our mind, and to allow the other person to do the same. This Moon encourages us to not only have the courage to speak up, but to also make the effort to truly listen and try to understand where the other person is coming from, without projecting our own thoughts, beliefs and emotions onto what they are trying to say. This is easier said than done sometimes, but well worth the effort. Those of us with personal planets and angles around 6° of a sign, especially the fire signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, will most feel the benefit of this courageous, direct, creative, passionate, truth-telling combination of Mars and Mercury.

Neptune in Pisces is square the Sun and Moon, calling for us to have compassion, empathy and sensitivity in the way we communicate with one another. This is a very challenging time of year for many, so compassion and kindness are so very important. Neptune does also bring the potential for confusion, brain fog and misunderstandings due to a lack of clarity. Neptune can also bring extreme sensitivity and emotional overwhelm, and we could feel a bit like a leaf being blown around in the wind, at the mercy of forces larger than us. And this is quite possible, in all the busyness of the festive season! We could feel like just burying our heads in the sand and escaping, because it all feels too much. Neptune rules drugs and alcohol, which can be used to escape and numb out. However, Neptune can also remind us to take time out and connect with Spirit, through nature, meditation and simply “taking a breath”.

Neptune is the planet of illusions and delusions, so it is important to be mindful of the stories we are telling ourselves and others, and that we are really telling ourselves the truth, because deception and self-deception are very possible. Neptune calls for us to tune in to our inner guidance, for we always know the truth, deep within us, even if it is a tiny whisper. One of Neptune’s greatest gifts is the art of surrender. We are invited to truly have faith and trust that there is a universal plan and to simply let go and allow ourselves to be guided along with the flow of the river. What will be will be. The more we let go of the need to control things and follow the path of least resistance, the easier life can be.

Uranus is also a player during this Moon, which can be helpful for insight, clarity and gaining perspective on whatever we are experiencing. Uranus can shake us out of stagnation but can also bring about a curveball that shocks and surprises us, jolting us into a greater sense of awareness and liberating us from habits, patterns, beliefs and situations that bind us.

The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon, at 24° Gemini, is an intriguing one: “Children skating over a frozen village pond”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The use of inhibiting circumstances for the development of character and a transcendent approach to the environment. Winter symbolises darkness and the restrictions imposed upon living things by cold. Natural life is in a state of hibernation or inward-turned activity. Yet the developing mind can learn to use restrictions and the disciplining power of “cold” external responses to rise above the outer “freeze” and to grow in strength and skill. Man is nature rising above the cyclic oscillation of natural polarities. His way is often the via negative. He learns rhythmic freedom (“skating”) by using the most binding situations (“ice”) to demonstrate his transcendent capacity for pleasure and self-mobilisation. This symbol presents us with a special technique. It is a mental technique inasmuch as it is through mind that man can transcend the entropy of the universal process of existence. We see here indeed man’s TRIUMPH OVER ENTROPY. (Entropy = a measure of the disorder that exists in a system.)”

This symbol certainly brings the sense that we can use our mind to rise above things and make the best out of a difficult situation! There is also something here around finding creative solutions, which reminds me of the Mercury Mars trine. Both Sagittarius and Gemini are able to bring lightness and humour to the table, as Gemini is curious and playful while Sagittarius can help us to see the funny side of even the most difficult situation. This Moon could be quite fast paced, so it is important to take time out to be kind to ourselves, so that we don’t end up too overwhelmed! Above all, this Moon offers us an opportunity to speak our truth and be heard, and to do the same in return. Clear, concise, direct and truthful communication is key!

Much Love

This Full Moon has the potential to bring clarity, insight and change into our lives. We are still in Scorpio season, a time for purging and shedding anything that no longer serves us. Scorpio season coincides with the leaves falling from the leaves in the Northern Hemisphere, and so we are being metaphorically stripped bare, which can leave us feeling quite raw and exposed. Anything that has been festering beneath the carpet can now be brought out into the open so that we can clean it out and purify it. And then we have this Full Moon, which can shine a light into the darkness, bringing our emotions up and out so that we can deal with them. Whatever came up for us during the Scorpio New Moon can now reach a point of completion and culmination.

This Moon highlights the Taurus/Scorpio polarity, with the Sun in powerful, intense Scorpio and the Moon in calm, sensual, practical Taurus. While Scorpio season can be very transforming, revealing and somewhat intense, a Taurus Moon invites us to ground and root ourselves, creating a greater sense of peace, calm, simplicity and stability. Taurus is a sensible, stable, no-nonsense, self-reliant sign that has no time for all the drama and emotional intensity that Scorpio can bring to the table. However, the Taurus part of us can get a bit stuck and stagnant at times, which is where Scorpio comes in, forcing us to be emotionally honest and to look at ourselves squarely in the face, owning whatever we find, even if it’s not pretty.

Uranus is sitting right next to the Moon in Taurus, which can definitely upset the apple cart! Scorpio season brings the potential for transformation, while Uranus can bring sudden events, realisations and insights that can bring significant shifts. While the Taurus part of us may resist change in favour of comfort and familiarity, Uranus tends to shake things up, rattling our cages and prompting us to step out of the comfort zone and try something different on for size. Uranus invites us to be utterly true to ourselves, throwing off the shackles of conditioning, shedding unhealthy patterns and habits and finding out who we really, truly are.

Sometimes all we need is to see things from a different point of view to create the change we need. Sometimes an epiphany can shift our perspective so much that everything changes. That moment when we exclaim “Aha!” can be a complete game changer. Uranus can certainly bring a curve ball or a wake-up call that can jolt us onto the right path, waking us up to what we previously couldn’t see or understand. And during Scorpio season any realisations can be incredibly profound, helping us to confront ourselves and see deeper truths as we unearth any challenging subject matter that might have been festering beneath the surface and wreaking havoc in our lives.

Those of us with personal planets and angles around 25° of a sign, especially the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, will feel the exciting, liberating, insightful energy of Uranus the most acutely. Clarity is a beautiful thing!

Venus, the ruler of this Moon, is also quite a big piece of the puzzle. Venus has recently moved into Capricorn, a serious, realistic, pragmatic, conservative sign that greatly values commitment, maturity, long-term stability, accountability, and integrity. Things can get quite serious in the relationship department when Venus is in Capricorn! Venus is square the Nodes of the Moon, which feels quite significant and can bring an element of fate and destiny, soul-growth and karma in terms of our relationships, values and self-worth.

Maybe we are being called to step forward somehow regarding our relationships, with the Aries North Node calling for us to be honest and brave and state our needs, doing what is right for us rather than going along with things that make us feel uncomfortable for the sake of maintaining peace and harmony. How do we find balance and compromise without compromising ourselves? Can we dare to actually show up in our relationships and not hide ourselves or downplay our feelings, needs and desires? Who are we, really? Can we have the courage to be all that we are - the good, the bad and the ugly?

We could receive some kind of test or a moment of reckoning in the realm of our relationships, whereby we could clear old karma and make some serious vows and commitments, first and foremost to ourselves. We could also be forced to be realistic and pragmatic about what we truly want and need. The Aries North Node has been calling for us to make ourselves a priority and to have the courage to express our needs. The Nodes will soon move into Virgo and Pisces, so this 18-month cycle of stepping into the fullness of who we are will be complete.

Venus square the Nodes will be exact the day after the Full Moon. Those of us with personal planets or angles around 5° of a sign, especially the cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, will feel the energy of the square most strongly. It is very important to be true to ourselves and to operate from a place of personal responsibility and integrity. Venus is also forming a nagging inconjunct aspect to Mars, the ruler of the North Node, which could make our relationships a bit more challenging, but will also force us to face things that we might usually shy away from. It is always better to get things out into the open, and we could have more courage to do so during this Moon, even if it is hard.

Pluto is also in the very final part of the final degree of Capricorn, getting ready to move into Aquarius on 20 November, which can bring a significant shift of energy. Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008. Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio, and there is a sense that we are clearing up old karmic debris in the final days of its stay in Capricorn. What old conditioned, programmed patterns need to be purged and purified? What karmic soul contracts are coming to an end? It will be interesting to see what falls away in the final days of Pluto in this karmic sign. On a collective level, it is Pluto’s last push to expose and purge any decay, dysfunction or corruption in the societal structures to make way for new, progressive foundations to be built as Pluto moves into revolutionary, humanitarian Aquarius. The world we have known is crumbling to make way for the new.

It could help to look at what area of our chart is going to be affected by this shift. Whatever house we find the final degree of Capricorn and first degree of Aquarius can show where we will feel the change of energy, as Pluto moves from the sign that represents authority, patriarchal values, karma, structure and commitment into the sign that represents freedom, revolution, community and authenticity. Pluto can also expose the darker side of Aquarius, including technology and community, and will hopefully purge and purify in this area so that the Aquarian qualities of equality, freedom and brotherhood/sisterhood can prevail. “Power to the People!” cries Pluto in Aquarius! Let’s see what that actually entails!

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 25° Taurus, is an interesting one, as Pluto gets ready to move into Aquarius: “A vast public park”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The cultivation of natural energies for collective use and recreation. With this symbol we witness the positive and impressive results of man’s collective endeavour to live in peace and to enjoy moments of relaxation. The public park is designed and kept for the enjoyment of all the people of the city. This is a symbol of COLLECTIVE ENJOYMENT. The individual finds in the products of his culture an emotional enhancement born of the feeling of “belonging” to a large, organised, peaceful whole.”

Ah, that sounds peaceful and tranquil and brings the sense of inclusivity and community that Pluto in Aquarius will hopefully bring! And who knows, maybe this Full Moon will bring a peaceful respite in the midst of an intense and turbulent Scorpio season! It certainly does bring the potential for some profound insight and understanding that could bring a sense of peace as things become clearer. The Scorpio New Moon forced us to look under the proverbial carpet and admit the truth, really getting to the heart of the matter. This Moon will hopefully bear the fruit that was planted then, as Full Moons often represent the culmination of whatever began during the New Moon. May we now have many “Aha!” moments that bring clarity, insight and peace and help us to see the way forward. This certainly does feel like a time of karmic completion.

Much Love

ARIES FULL MOON / SUPERMOON - 17 October 2024

Picture

This is a big, bold, brave Full Moon, in true Aries style! It is a supermoon, which means that it appears larger in the night sky and has a greater impact on our minds, bodies and spirits. It is also in independent, brave, direct, enthusiastic and impulsive Aries, the first sign of the zodiac that represents the initial spark that can easily start a raging fire! This Moon is activating the relationship axis of Libra and Aries, the two signs that represent our need to be in relationship to other (Libra) and our need to be our own person (Aries). Ultimately, we are called to find a balance between the two signs, rather than veering too far in one direction or the other.

In quite simple terms, Libra is the sign of peace and Aries is the god of war. Libra is the part of us that tends to acquiesce or turn a blind eye to certain issues in order to maintain a sense of peace and harmony, not wanting to rock the boat or cause friction. It is the part of us that strives to be reasonable and struggles with harsh or “ugly” emotional reactions. Aries, however, is the part of us that isn’t afraid to bring thorny issues out into the open, confronting them head on in order to find some kind of resolution. In an ideal world we would have the courage to bring challenging issues up in a kind, loving and considered way, rather than simply acting or reacting from a hurt, angry, triggered or wounded place. However, sometimes feelings just rise up in us and demand release, which is the Aries way, and at least we are being honest, open, direct and real when we express what we are feeling, even if it doesn’t quite come out in the most refined, gentle or delicate manner!

During this particular Moon, we also have Chiron the Wounded Healer sitting right next to the Moon in Aries, which brings the potential for our wounds and insecurities being activated, and could make us more sensitive, reactive, easily hurt, defensive and emotional than we might usually be. However, this is such an opportunity for healing, even though it might feel a bit uncomfortable! We are called to be brave enough to actively confront painful memories and look at our unhelpful patterns, and to address any issues that are coming up for us so that we can work through them. It takes courage to show our wounded selves to others and to be vulnerable enough to express when we are hurt in a way that they can accept and understand. It takes courage to face ourselves and admit that we feel hurt, or rejected, or weak. It takes courage to bring uncomfortable issues out into the open.

Those of us with personal planets or angles around 21° of a sign will be feeling the healing energy of Chiron the most acutely, especially in the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. This may bring feelings of rejection and our core wounds being activated, which could be painful and yet bring such potential for healing. Aries is a very brave energy, which helps us to look at our wounds without flinching and to do whatever is needed to work through whatever we are facing.

Interestingly, Mars, the ruler of Aries, is very present during this Moon, as it is forming a dynamic square aspect to the Sun, Moon and Chiron, a harmonious trine aspect to Neptune, while also working towards an opposition to Pluto. That’s a lot of Mars! We could be forced, in no uncertain terms, to confront our core wounds, and could find ourselves more easily triggered, with some strong emotions coming to the surface. Mars is in Cancer at the moment, which can bring up anger and outbursts of emotion that come from our wounded inner child and could seem quite irrational.

We may find ourselves at odds with others somehow, but the tension can push us to confront issues that we usually tend to shy away from. We have a chance here to practice asserting ourselves and expressing our anger and strong emotions in a healthy, constructive way, although that might not be very easy if our buttons are being pushed! Chiron in Aries encourages us to have the courage to simply be ourselves and to embrace all that we are, rather than doubting or bending ourselves out of shape to be something we are not in order to feel loved or accepted. Mars definitely brings the potential for heated emotions, hurt feelings and reactivity, but it also helps us to be brave and bring anything out into the open so that we can find healing and resolution. Better out than in!

Neptune is forming a flowing, harmonious trine aspect to both Venus and Mars, which helps to soften the fiery energy of this Full Moon. Neptune brings the potential for true acceptance, sensitivity to other’s feelings, heartfelt connection and the capacity for compassion and empathy towards one another, even while facing uncomfortable or challenging material. Venus is right at the end of Scorpio, calling for us to deepen our intimacy and trust, penetrating to the core of whatever we are dealing with. There is certainly a lot of potential for friction during this Moon, which can bring out our vulnerabilities and expose our tender underbellies, but this can ultimately bring us closer together and help us to understand each other better.

The connection between Neptune and Venus, which is exact on Wednesday, can bring a deeper, more loving connections and greater understanding and acceptance of the parts of each other that we might deem “ugly”, shameful, scary or unacceptable. It can help us to transcend egoic attachment and embrace a higher expression of love.  We are invited to connect on a deeper level and see beyond our façades, walls and protective layers to the core of our being. This doesn’t feel like an easy Moon, per se, as some challenging and hitherto repressed material could come out into the light, but what is revealed through the process could be tremendously healing and ultimately bring greater understanding, depth and intimacy to our relationships.

Those of us with personal planets or angles around 29° of a sign, especially the mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, will feel the tender, compassionate, dissolving, flowing energy of Neptune and Venus most strongly, not to mention that Pluto is also sitting at 29° Capricorn, having recently turned direct. We are having the last little foray into all things Capricorn before Pluto goes into Aquarius for good on 19 November, which calls for us to face any unhelpful karmic patterns or issues around power and control, purging unhealthy conditioned habits and patterns, and dismantling any decaying structures in our lives that simply no longer serve.

The Sabian symbol for this Moon, at 25° Aries, is an intriguing one: “The possibility for man to gain experience at two levels of being” which Dane Rudyar describes as “The revelation of new potentialities. In some unspecified way the symbol is a guarantee that man can operate successfully at two levels of consciousness, if he has previously met the condition mentioned in the preceding symbol. “Be open. Be able and willing to shape your translucent mind on the form revealing spiritual fulfilment. And you will be able to experience life and power on inner as well as outer planes.” The implied message is one of faith. Man can only truly experience what he deeply believes he can experience. This symbol announces the possibility of a new step in evolution, but it is still only a possibility, a promise. The individual is truly ON PROBATION.”

This Moon certainly seems to be calling for us to be honest, open and brave! Full Moons always hold the potential for emotions riding high and for hitherto repressed material coming out into the light, but this one could be especially volatile! There is an invitation here for us to lay our cards out on the table and to have the courage to truly express all that we are and all that we are feeling, even if it feels uncomfortable and isn’t exactly “pretty”. Aries is the part of us that acts first and thinks later, and sometimes that can be a good thing, because at least it is real and is not filtered through the lens of what is “reasonable” or “acceptable”. This Moon has such amazing healing potential if we are brave enough to drop the protective walls of so-called decency and reveal the fullness of who we truly are, warts and all.

PISCES FULL MOON / SUPERMOON / LUNAR ECLIPSE - 18 September 2024

This is a powerful, tender-hearted Full Moon that invites us to truly let go and to surrender to the next chapter of our lives, even if the way is not yet clear. This Moon starts off Eclipse season, which is a powerfully energetic time that completes a six-month cycle that began in March this year. This Moon is also connected to the Lunar Eclipse 19 years ago, in September 2005, so it could help to think back to what was happening back then as this Moon could have an energetic resonance with that time in our lives. Lunar Eclipses are a time of release, renewal and completion, making way for a new chapter to begin. It is particularly poignant that this Full Moon is in Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, calling for us to fully surrender to the flow of life, letting go of control over outcomes, leaving the past behind and releasing whatever needs to fall away to make space for the new.

This is a particularly powerful Moon because Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, is also sitting right next to the Full Moon in Pisces. The message couldn’t be clearer – we are being called to allow faith and trust to guide us and to fully surrender to the flow of the river, allowing it to take us wherever we need to go next. We may have our own ideas about what we want or need, or where we want to go, and we might feel a bit scared, but as much as we might want to control outcomes and steer the boat in a certain direction, it is far easier if we simply let go, in full trust, and allow ourselves to be swept along by the universal tides. As such, we are encouraged to remain alert to any omens, signs and messages that can show us the way to go, and to recognise where the path seems blocked and difficult to navigate. It is amazing what can happen when we are following our hearts and fully in flow!

Neptune in Pisces can bring the potential for illusion and disillusionment, increased sensitivity, empathy, compassion, escapism, dissolving ego and transcendence. Neptune and Pisces remind us that we are all connected, and that the power of the collective cannot be underestimated. Neptune is the feeling of unity, euphoria and oneness that we experience when, for instance, we are all singing the same song in unison at a concert. Moments like that remind us of how we are all connected by an invisible thread, and how beautiful that is. At this important and powerful moment in history, when the way ahead is so unclear and humanity is in the process of such an important shift, it is important to tap into this collective consciousness and remember that we are not alone, and are part of something that is much, much bigger than our little fearful egos can possibly comprehend!

Uranus and Pluto are also helping us out during this Moon, bringing the potential for some profound shifts, transformation and soul growth. Uranus offers us some insightful realisations that can bring about clarity and understanding that could liberate us from old patterns and programming. Eclipses activate the Nodes of the Moon, which involve us stepping out of the safe, familiar territory of our comfort zone in order to embrace soul growth.

The North Node represents all that we yearn for and yet when we are actually presented with it can feel so scary that it takes some courage and faith to actually make the leap! It is so easy to be drawn back into old, familiar patterns. Uranus can help us to step out of our comfort zone, however, despite any resistance we may feel, waking us up to what needs to change and shift. Pluto nudges us to confront ourselves and deepest fears so that we can evolve and transform on a deep soul level.

Jupiter is also forming a challenging square aspect to the Sun and Moon, calling for us to let go of any ideas or beliefs that might be holding us back from moving forward. That may be a crisis of faith, whereby we find ourselves in our heads instead of our hearts, struggling to let go and trust that we are being guided in the right direction. Some big emotions could come up during this Moon, including feelings of fear and overwhelm, but ultimately we are being invited to feel and honour all of these feelings and nevertheless dive into the unknown with the inner knowing that we will be held, supported and guided where we need to go.

Indeed, with the Nodes of the Moon squaring Mars in Cancer during this Moon, we could find that some very strong feelings come up which could motivate us to make the change we need, or at the very least help us to see how our emotions help or hinder us from taking action. With Mars being highlighted by the Nodes, we are invited to recognise how we work with our anger, and whether we are able to assert ourselves in a healthy way, and whether we are feeling brave or scared about what lies ahead. Mars in Cancer can bring some irrational responses that come from childhood wounding, so it is important to be aware of how we respond to triggers during this time. This square will be exact on 15 of September but will still be strong during this Full Moon.

Those of us with personal planets or angles around 6° of a sign, especially the cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, will feels the energy of the Nodes and Mars the most acutely, calling for us to find the courage to take that leap of faith and probably bringing some quite big solar plexus twinges, either through fear of the unknown or through responding to emotional triggers. It is important to watch any tendency to react from our hurt inner child!

Full Moons, by their very nature, tend to bring up any issues within our relationships, but with the Nodes in the Libra/Aries relationship axis and Venus being so heavily aspected, this Moon is especially so. Chiron the Wounded healer is sitting directly opposite Venus during this Moon, which could bring some pain or wounding within our relationships but could also bring about much needed healing. We could find that our sore spots are more easily activated, and that certain relationships with those close to us bring us face to face with our sensitivities, vulnerabilities, insecurities and core wounds. However, while this may not be very comfortable, it does bring opportunities for healing and greater intimacy and closeness if we are able to rise above pettiness and allow ourselves to open up and to be seen.

The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon/Eclipse, at 26° Pisces, is an interesting one: “Watching the very thin moon crescent appearing at sunset, different people realise that the time has come to go ahead with their different projects”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “A keen appreciation of the value of individualised responses to any challenge of life. The rather obscure original notation for this zodiacal degree, “A new moon that divides its influences,” when translated into practical terms refers to the fact that, confronted with the opportunity to expand their energy along new lines, modern individuals will react according to their own personal characters. One basic cosmic-spiritual impulse will lead these varied personalities to take equally varied steps. In any society that glorifies individualism, everyone should therefore accept this fact and not try to compel other individuals to conform to a single pattern of response. This symbol stresses the essential nature of the cyclic process of actualisation of human potential, i.e. the emergence of the individual. This should lead to a realisation of the FALLACY OF TOTALITARIANISM; at times we can all act like despots, demanding that others react to any situation exactly as we do.”

Pisces and Neptune can help us to be more aware of how we are all connected, and yet this symbol reminds us that we all have our own unique path to walk, in our own unique way. Live and let live! This Moon certainly does seem to be encouraging us to release the past and let go of anything that might be holding us back from fully surrendering to the flow and to fully embrace whatever is waiting for us in the as yet unknown future. We may feel some resistance, overwhelm or fear as we are called to step out of our comfort zone, and we may have to let go of people, situations, old beliefs or patterns, which could be painful. However, as this next chapter awaits us, we are being called to really tap into our faith and trust that whatever lies around the next bend in the river of our life is what we have been waiting and yearning for, even if it also terrifies us! It is time to release the past to make way for the new.

We are invited to trust the Universe, trust the process, and most importantly trust ourselves. When we do this, instead of trying to force outcomes, we find that things fall into place more easily and naturally.

Much Love

I love writing about the Moon and the effect it has on us all, both collectively and personally. We all look at the same Moon and feel her energy, albeit in different ways. It reminds us that we are not alone and there is something very comforting about that!
